@ignoranceandwant More than that, it's to make a point about Determinism. Like Mark Weiner was saying at the end of the film, no one has free will, we all just do what we do (a statement I do not agree with, but that's another story). The other versions of Aviva are meant to illustrate that point. No matter who plays her, Aviva is the same character from beginning to end, backwards and forwards...Just like a palindrome.
