Well on my own experence. It is to do with what you eat. Not how much exercise you do. But if you do more exercise than you need to eat more. But I changed from a meat based diet to a plant based diet where I eat mostly fruit and vegetables and a couple slices of bread a day... and in a year I went from 12 stone, to just under 9 stone. So I think what you eat is the reason people get obese. Not how much, but what they eat. You can eat lots of bananas and not put weight on.

I' currently cutting carbs from my diet and started exercising. In 3 weeks I've lost 15 pounds. I'm also feeling better, I have more energy and don't feel tired by late afternoon
I just thought, we have had the low-carb diet played out on our TV's every year for nearly a decade... it's called Survivor. Eating coconut (79% fat;30% saturated fat) and fish (like the Tokelau Islanders) and losing a lot of weight.
@ALucas73 my old parents commeneted how much weight they always loose. i said yes, they are eating paleo. My paleo food is cooked meat and raw vegtable and fruit. pure nutrition.evey bite its nutrition.
I'm a type I diabetic, so I can see what different amounts of insulin do to my body. Everything Taubes has said about carbs and insulin has been true for me. I was so surprised when, after lowering my carbs drastically and lowering my daily insulin by about 85%, I started to actually want to get some exercise. And then I got to the chapter in GC,BC that said this would happen and explained why! Gary Taubes, you're my hero! :)

I watched an hour and ten minutes of this freaking video and I still have no idea what he thinks because it cut off. All I know is what he DOESN'T think causes obesity (overeating and taking in more calories than burning). Seriously, no part 2?
