My family owns a cabin in Big Bear. I went there for Christmas last year the snow is so really pretty.

i just love this place! i go with my dad almost every winter to go sledding and see the sights do you have any seggestion on where me and my dad should go this year (since i havent went last year or the year befor that ) like what restuarnt that has good food but on a buget and others :) take care ~gabby

(Here's a clean!!! version.) Big Bear is fun. Wilderness is fun. Hell, Nature is fun here in California. You can almost walk 2 miles without seeing 40,000 civilization buildings and that is all before you pay $10-100 for a stupid permit. Putting a damn price on the outdoors. That's where this state messes up hard...

Northwoods is such a nice place to stay. I flew over from Britain with my school to ski there and the staff were so polite at the hotel and catered for us to a really high standard

Thanks! We'll give you a call next time we're in town! We had so much to pack into only a weekend that it was impossible to try everything, but I know fishing is a big part of Big Bear's charm. What kind of fish are stocked in the lake?

We are so lucky to have such a variety of fish in Big Bear Lake. There are bass, bluegill, carp, catfish, crappie and rainbow trout in Big Bear Lake. The rainbow trout are stocked on a regular basis and now thanks to the MWD bluegill and bass are also stocked. We have several trout tournaments each year and also a carp roundup contest. Fishing is great from the shore or from a boat on Big Bear Lake.

I had no idea there was so much to do in Big Bear! Time for a trip - I definitely need to get my 2 year old on the pirate ship. ARGH!

The pirate ship is great! They fire off cannons, give the kids pirate tattoos and even let them dig for toys in the treasure chest. The kids had a blast! We also went by the lakefront home of Noel Blanc, Mel Blanc's son, who came out and performed Bugs Bunny and other Looney Toones voices for us. Thanks Stephanie! It had been a while since we'd been up there as well. I'd been to the Moonridge Zoo (which is definitely worth a visit) a few years back to see their Grizzly Bear family. Oh, The Restaurants are amazing, camping and Jet Skiing is very popular, I should tell you my home over there is a holiday home, but we did buy it, But I live in the UK, it's a fantastic holiday home actually - We eat things like you get in LA really. I'm telling you, if you want a holiday there, its a very good place to go :D
