Ah, so you to have a YouTube channel as well as DA account. Glad to see I am not the only one.
I would love to help with your work...unfortunately, I doubt we live anywhere near each other. That, and I suck at doing voices. And I don't really look like any Leviathan characters. Though I did do some cosplay stuff (check my DA account, same name as my one on here).
Still, I now have every intention of doing my own fan film. It must be done. Its too awesome not to.
You have a really good idea going, with the acting out the scenes to the book, I'd help... but I think that'd be kinda hard to do since... I kinda live in Italy ç_ç" I'd follow the project, though *w*/ you'd already have a guaranteed fan *w* (XD)
@Straif5 My grandparents live in Washington XD but I guess it isn't all bad, I mean, I'm in Italy for the cold seasons ù_ù/ It's just kinda... away from a lot of stuff XD
(PS: It's actually written "grazie" >_<" I really didn't want to say it, but it was bugging me ç_ç ...sorry)
I live in Encino, right next to the Sherman Oaks galleria. I'm working on my Alek cosplay, since I'm 13 I am probably shorter than you which works well because in the books Deryn is taller, PM or email or something if interested, wee could like meet at a McDonalds or something(good idea who ever posted it)
:( Why do you live in California??!!! (I'm from Texas.) I would so help you out. Your idea is really neat. :)
As for cosplay ideas.... Scott posted the Russian Leviathan cover on his website and it has Deryn on the cover. I figure maybe a replica of what she's wearing or something similar? (Sorry, I'm not much help with cosplay. >.<)
For your Deryn outfit, get a stuffed animal that looks like Bovril and put a tape recorder inside and tape yourself saying Mr. Sharp and laughing. Put fake bovril on your shoulder. Oh and get a whistle (like the command whistle she uses.)
i just realized that i totally butchered what i was trying to say before, i clicked copy and paste somehow and put the same sentence twice, so sorry about that. anyway, what i meant to say is, your deryn sharp costume is really cool, and the only real suggestion i have is that you don't have a very strong jaw, so you might want to stick it out a bit, or outline it. the thin face thing is sort of working for you though since deryn is supposed to be super skinny, but you might want to try both.
well, i think you do a pretty good job being deryn, i just barely set up a deviantart account and saw your pictures, well, i think you do a pretty good job of being deryn, but you don;t have a very straw jaw, so you could try sticking it out a bit, or outlining it lightly with facepaint, i picture deryn as being a bit more guyish looking, but otherwise it's really good.
OMbeky hilarious xD jts to let ya kno..... It's stef -3 you never told me bout this video glad I found it tho... Love your bids see you at school tomorrow bro .... Luv steffffffffffffffff -3333333
Maybe after a while you should send a mass message to ppl who are for sure interested and just be like, "hahaa, meet at the (mcdonanlds) in (random city) lolkthaxbai" ...more or less, just so we know where we're going and to exclude creepers. XD
Just watch as this huge crowd of cosplayers shows up in the McD's parking lot...it would be like the last pop culture convention I went to...except the cosplayers will be Leviathaneers and not whatever you call Twilight fans.
@Dounuts247 man i live in NYC thats horriable because i made an awesome alek costume and ive been looking forever for someone like this but ya know traveling costs money espcialy when going from NYC to LA
woo! you are an awesome cosplayer! For the costuming bit, Try small detail-ey stuff like a pocket watch and some cool leather gloves. the details make all the difference :3 and also you might want to mention where you sorta live near so people can tell you if they can help or not! I don't mean like city or anything but maybe state? :D and also your scarf/ascot is totally cute I want one ^_^
Cool idea! I must say you would make a perfect Deryn Sharp. It would be so enjoyable to see the book acted out in real life. I guess my advice to you is you should invest in a better camera unless the lagging is due to something else. And good luck with the accent. I'm terrible with accents haha. Go Leviathan! :D Oh! And your outfit should be simple since Deryn is just a simple airman. I guess Keith Thompson's drawings will be most helpful with that. :D
@bintobox7 haha great idea! You might want to include that Becky. As for a costume, You could take a regular white button up shirt and button it up to the top. then turn the collar inside of the shirt so it looks like an older high collared shirt. Then just tie around a sash/ribbon/actual tie. You might also want to get suspenders, they're the answer to everything.
For costuming stuff you can probably try combat boots for shoes. I would recommend going to an army surplus store for those (they are super cheap there!). On that note, you could probably get a lot of stuff from there and just modify it a bit to fit Deryn's image. Cool idea!

Unsurprising, considering your on the other side of the Atlantic.
Its cool. Still working on my writing. I can speak Italian passably, but I can't write it.
