I have had this happen where I love in Nevada. Scared the heck out of me the first time i saw lightning light up the mountains around where i lived at the time. It was so awesome though

A friend was due to fly from New York to Iceland on 28 December, but was delayed over a day due to this snow and ice in New York. Ah, the irony...

@marc0021 I lived in Seattle 23 years and can vouch for that ..... I was there for a visit this year for the Nov 21 storm that paralyzed the city with only 3 inches!
