  • 7.3 was only good diesel in a ford, other than the 6.9

  • its turbo flutter... typical on all 6.0 when boost is bot used

  • Its just the wastegate. Im guessing the truck isn't fully warmed up yet? Thats when mine does it. Mine also did it with a banks 6 gun, and still does with the SCT.

  • Ok anyone who think that the Sick-O is a good reliable engine can kiss my ass... actually it made me change from Ford to Chevy in term on Diesel truck. But don't get me wrong Ford build very good truck but the screwup big with the 6.0 and 6.4...

  • Hmmm? Not sure I like the way that sounds. Like my 7.3 better!

  • what size lift?

  • "Turbo Fart"... Its called compressor surge and NO its not good for the turbo.

  • Have fun with that 6.0 Ford bought mine back it was considered a lemon

  • My dad had an F150 that caught fire, so we replaced that and my moms totalled Chevy van with a Silverado and TrailBlazer. So many more problems with Chevy...

  • fix or repair daily

  • @alex321p really my dads has 130K on it with absolutely no motor issues up to that point, mine has 80k on it with no motor issues both 6.0L

  • @alex321p Good one... Jackass

  • The nice thing about Ford is they havent forced tax payers in to owning part of their company! I wish the others could say that. Our kids and their kids will be paying for their bail outs....

If you support socialism and bail outs then buy the other guys. The real Americans who support good business, and the American value will continue to buy Ford!

  • @jerbrerizz94 GM and Chrysler have both paid back their bailout money. Not that it matters, because the government gives us no fucking choice on where the money goes anyway.

We had to bail them out, for the sake of what this country stands for. "United we stand... Divided we fall"

It was the bank bailouts that pissed me off. The mother fuckers who charge 30% interest on credit cards that the gov won't regulate.

This is coming from a conservative who thinks and sees beyond his own nose.

  • best looking 6.0 ive seen, no question.

    good job my dude

  • the big 3 make wonderful trucks. there all very capable vehicles. ford does make there trucks stronger suspension wise. the solid front axle is really strong and made for work. but the 6.0L was a piece of shit. so great suspension combined with a engine you had to change head gaskets on or change the turbo charger constantly dont get you anywhere. every truck has its weak point. the chevy's are faster. the dodges get better mpg. both also have problems and weak links. nice truck though...

  • @alfabravo98 i agree, ima ford guy but i like all three diesel motors, cant say im a fan of the dodge body styles though

  • typing to fast sorry for the mistakes

  • all of you grow up, trucks are trucks, if you like one brand like it. if not dont, there all good in there own regards. i have a stroke, but i love cummins, and duramax have some awesome power, it foes the same for the truck its self, chevys are made for comfprt, thus the ifs not the solid front axel, dodges and ford have a solid front for towing but who cares, god your all dumb

  • @kylesundberg Thank you! Ive owned ford, chevy, jeep, and volkswagen (Junk IMHO).

Theyre all good in their own way, but there isnt one that I absolutely hated driving. My chevy rode great and was reliable, my ford was kinda cheap but I couldnt get it to die, my jeep has some design flaws, but I still love it. The volkswagen was fun to drive, but a piece of crap otherwise. I thought I was the only one that liked the big 3

  • Not to get in on any drama but my ATS Aurora compounds are waste gated to 50 psi on my cummins and it makes the same sound on a hard pull... and they ATS told me that's fine and won't hurt my "engine".. nice ride btw..

  • WHO CAN PLEASE tell me where to find that grill for a 2003?

  • @Tsimfuckiss LMC truck catolog. LMCtruck.com, junkyard's or ask a ford dealer for part's service.

  • WHO CAN PLEASE tell me where to find that grill for a 2003?

  • @Tsimfuckiss off a 2005-07

  • @tssracing14 It fits on a 03?

  • @Tsimfuckiss looks like it, but im thinkin this is an 05-07 by the grill and f-250 badges

  • @Tsimfuckiss "2005 F250 TO F550 FORD GRILL CONVERSION FITS 1999-2004" search that on ebay. I think they are shaped slightly different than the actual 05-07 grills so they should fit better. Easy to put in. Like 2 screws and a few clips.

  • Thats called compressor surge. not a "turbo fart" and its pretty bad for your motor, do some research.

  • @elijahinky not bad for the engine (motors are electric)

but is bad for your turbo and will wear it out extremely fast....

blow off valve is all thats needed tho. easy install $20-300 depending on what you buy and you get that cool pssst sound when you shift or any time your making boost and lift off the throttle

  • @sideways88turbo I meant ENGINE I know cars, been around them my whle life from 55 chevys to 350Z's And YES it's bad on your engine. And youre right, it will ruin your turbo because it forces air the wrong way throuhg your turbo basically (though there is different types of surge). And yea it can destroy motors too becuase if you are surging really bad it could increase your boost to levels way to high for your internals and damage your engine from excessive combustion pressure...

  • @sideways88turbo

    mo·tor

    noun /ˈmōtər/

motors, plural A machine, esp. one powered by electricity or internal combustion, that supplies motive power for a vehicle or for some other device with moving parts A source of power, energy, or motive force

  • @malkowskitube actually a motor has nothing to do with internal combustion, a motor is driven by electricity.. thats why we say internal combustion engine and not internal combustion motor...

  • @tenor141291 actually the definition that I posted saying it includes internal combustion came straight from Webster's dictionary. That's why we say at the drag strip "It's all motor", not "it's all engine" when asking if there's forced induction or nitrous.

  • awesome looking truck, how many miles now? (10month later that im asking) Have you had to do the EGR delete on it? thinking about an 06 but the 6.0 has had very bad press on it. At the same time i've heard you can bullet proof it with new studs and egr delete

  • Why wouldn't you put a blowoff on it, that's probably bad for the turbo

  • @dvaesedum its a waste gate, its fine, all it does is release excess pressure, nothing to worry about

  • @mrb24681 there is no wastegate it has a vvt turbo and and that sound is the vane s releasing over boost to the throttle body ..... read a book.........

  • @rustyj1286 lol read a book... why because i mistaked waste gate flutter for the vanes releasing, get a life dude LMFAO, pathetic. go pick a internet fight with some other loser LOL

  • @rustyj1286 btw just because it is a variable vane turbo dont mean there is no wastegate, so read a book... how about you go read a ford manual idiot

  • @rustyj1286 also on a side note, the variable vanes only change the tone of the whistle, this is mostly noticeable at idle when warming up, you can hear the change in whistle from low to high, i own a 6.0L f350 clearly you dont, either that or you know absolutely nothing about it

  • @dvaesedum its not bad for the turbo at all, there is a egr valve and wastegate that both open when excess pressure is made

  • @dvaesedum Diesels don't need a blowoff valve. BOVs are only for gas engines.

  • @tarponsalltheway diesels can't use blow off valves unless they are electrically actuated. It is possible to use one, but it is much cheaper to wastegate the turbo and vent the excess boost pressure through the wastegate then into the exhaust or to atmosphere.

  • @dvaesedum because blow off valves are vacuum actuated, diesel engines make extremely little to no vacuum.

  • @dvaesedum i think the waste gate is to let out the boost which is that sound or "fart"

  • @TheMightyMatt67 wastegate doesn't let boost out. it bypasses exhaust around the turbo so it stops it from building additional boost. thats why you change the wastegate spring to adjust boost pressure in most turbo cars.

  • @automotiveDIY Ohh thanks for the info.

  • this truck is so sharp!! screams bad ass to me man

  • I don't know - got a buddy who is a Ford Master Tech and he advised I avoid the Fords, go Cummins. Can't go wrong there.

  • No it's not it's actually the turbo still building up pressure when the driver let's of the gas the extra pressure makes that sound when it blows back out the intake

  • yea, that would be your waste gate

  • @MsMommasboi no wastegate on 6.0s buddy. they're a vgt setup

  • @cabowabo290 every vehicle with a turbo charger has a waste gate

  • @MsMommasboi What makes you so sure? My turbo doesn't have a waste gate. Clown

  • @MsMommasboi god damn i hate retards that think they know everything... every gas engine that is turbod has a waste gate. you dont know shit about diesels go back in your mommys basement and play wow

  • @MsMommasboi not really...at all

  • u should get a banks bighead wastegate actuater fot that

  • i thought that was just the waste gate?

  • Those 08+ style trailer tow mirrors are they power telescoping?

  • @SSGfuckSHITup turbos cant even be set that high wth are you talking about

  • @faded2blak Actually diesel trucks that sled pull run that kind of boost normally, big money twin turbo set-ups, especially for sled pulling

  • @liveloud666 yea that comment was made before i learned of it lol

  • all people do is talk shit on here

  • that "turbo fart" is actually you surging to turbo and its awful for it i wouldn't recommend it

  • more like a turbo queef

  • @chaseyboy44 lmao

  • did you add the newer style mirrors yourself??? if so any help doin that?

  • i always call it a turbo sneeze, but it dnt matter what you cal it, its all the same, its just air escaping back out the intak, its perfectly normal and doesnt harm your engine.. it is just louder when you add stuff to the truck because your building more boost and you have a bigger intake and exhaust so its easieer to hear.

  • I want it!

  • Yea my 06 6.0 is a bad ass truck and but at like 93k miles we hadda replace egr and oil cooler and the o ring around the waterpump but now with 110k miles and it runs like a bat out of hell we took it out to some dryed up ponds when it snowed here and it was like 2 foot deep and we had got some really nice tires like $1300 tires and so we could get around in snow that was like almost over the hood and and did donuts and we did it in 4 low and high and that thing never bogged down or anything.

  • ha civic honks because its jelous!

  • Lol the light weight f-series PASSES IN THE BACKGROUND LIKE: "don't mind me just hauling a couple tons with ease"...

  • @tractorwolrd the 6.0s have more stock torque and hp than the 7.3s did, ill admit the early 6.0s were shit, but the 05-06s were the "most reliable" diesles that ford claimed, due to the least amount of problems reported of the engine over any ford/navistar engine ford has had. i own a 05 f250 and love the shit out of it, never had a problem with it after a 155,000 miles and counting

  • fart? i always called it a sneeze.. lol..nice vid

  • no its called a (tt) turbo toot

  • did you have to do the head studs and delete the egr ?

  • any1 else notice the 08-11 towing mirrors?

  • @linkthemain yep, one of the first things i noticed, trying to find some for my L99 cause i think they look good on these bodies as well

  • Nice truck, how big is that lift?

  • @AchillesOtherHeel that is a 6.5 inch procomp lift with 37 inch tires and 17 inch rims

  • Nice truck, how big is that lift?

  • What year is it? Had a nice whistle to it. How many miles are on it now?

  • @linkthemain 2003...153k miles on it now...

  • @airman2500 how do you like the 6.0? im deciding between a 7.3 or a 03 6.0

  • @TylerV73 go 7.3 the 6.0s were crap expect to do head work around 100k 7.3s are awesome engines!!

  • @TractorWorld 7.3 last forever but they are slow as shit get a 6.0 if you actually wanna go fast

  • @thehunterford i have the 6.0 and dont get me wrong its fast but i have friends with 7.3's that are faster. I'm sure the 6.0 with some more work done to it would be faster but those 7.3's can be pretty quick too (gotta work em over but it can be done)

  • @krzykrakr Yea I got some little mods ;) done to my 6.0 taking it diesel nationals april 2nd but yea i gotta buddy with a 2001 7.3 with a programmer, intake, exhaust, injector work, and tranny work but i make him look absolutely ridiculous and on the other side i gotta brother with a 7.3 and it has 400 thousand miles and still kicking and screaming longevity=good but speed=slow

  • @thehunterford yeah but i would rather have the 7.3 then put the money into a 6.0 for head work

  • @TractorWorld Well if you wanna keep going slow get a 7.3 but if you wanna rape some people at the stoplight get 6.0 2005 and up because the first two years were shit

  • @thehunterford 6.0 may go fast but never last. Buy a 5.9 cummins and u get both :D

  • @ThundareRed Bahahaha ok ok your right but make sure you get the vp44 24 valve not the common rail 5.9

  • @thehunterford they are both pretty good but yea.

  • @linkthemain The 6.0 turbo diesels whistle alot because they don't have wastegates to control the amount of psi and pressure released

  • @WhiteNuklz966 I asked what year it was cause it looked like an 05-07 which dont whistle as much as an 03-04.

  • @linkthemain 04's whistle like a crazy sweet though.

  • @8300JohnDeere 03's do they have the 10 vane turbos. thay changed to a 12 vane i believe after 03. not as much whistle

  • talk about compressor surge

  • They all do it. It's a turbo surge or for the uneducated a "turbo bark" vgt turbos make a lot of noise when they surge. Mine does it and no it's not good for it.

  • aww it pooted

  • @jeazy1287 And why would that be? Idiot...

  • @airman2500 cause they suck ass

  • @redsealspitter57 Fords do not suck ass, they are an American made truck that can take more of a beating than Dodge or a Chevy, EVERYONE around where I live uses ford on their ranch or farm because they are made for working, not that pussy show shit like dodge or chevy.

  • @offroadingfords oh really buddy take a ride through kentucky where our trucks are worked to death. you'll drive down a road and see 20 something chevys, maybe 7 or 8 cummins, and MAYBE 2 fords. fords are absolute shit

  • @CRFmxracer matter of opinion, id take ford over anything, and judging by the fact that they are the best selling trucks 35 years in a row id say people love their fords. the duramax is ok but id never buy a dodge, i do like cummins but dodge trucks just look like crap, not to mention the rest of the truck doesnt hold up in comparison to the engine at all. like i said, id take my powerstroke over anything else, i see plenty of busted dodges and chevy's around here too so yea, its opinion

  • @offroadingfords maybe Dodge shows off, but chevy is also a badass hard working truck since the getgo.

  • @afr126 dodge shows off? What about the denali (chevy/gmc), it's way too luxurious and expensive of truck to do any real work.

  • @offroadingfords Its always hilarious how people argue about trucks, Check out an episode of Top Gear America where they test 3 trucks (Ford, Dodge, and Chevy). Once you have then you might want to change your statement.

  • @offroadingfords they are shit try changing a god dam fan belt on a newer power stroke

  • @2molloy2 Who even likes the new powerstrokes? no one does, I love the 7.3 it was bulletproof, its stupid that they stopped making it.

  • @jeazy1287 ur fucken gay

  • @jeazy1287 wow ur and idiot that happens in duramaxs and cummins its called that the ruebo has exxcess pressure and it goes back in idiot that happends when u dnt have a bov

  • Did those newer mirrors mount right up ok? or did you have to do any modifying

  • ha my 6.4 does that stock when im spinning all 4 wheels in the mud and let go of the gas

  • you have no idea how bad that is for your turbo lol but your truck you can do whatever you want lol plus when the turbo finally takes a shit you can just put a bigger on in.

  • so is it hard to put the new towing mirrors and taking the older style off i like how they look on your truck!

  • my 6.0 did the same thing all the time and it never gave me a problem

  • im with giannicash

  • How much boost are you running with that?

  • how do you get your 6.0 to smoke like that without upgraded injectors?

  • @nickm1993 tune it and one thing that really works well is a BD boost fooler it runs bout $90...i have a video of mine its crappy quality but its a good example im runin Quadzilla Adrenaline2 with the boost fooler

  • still badass tho

  • i love doing that to my truck the turbo flutter buts anyways that's a bad ass truck.

  • Oh shit? A sk8er into trucks?! HaHAha

  • wastegate has nothing to do with this. a wastegate makes sure your turbo does not build more and more boost. the wastegate is what determines your maximum boost pressure. on the intake side of the turbo there is usually a recirculation valve thats lets the air going from the turbo to the intake manifold recirculate through the turbo to relieve pressure. if you do not have one of those or a blow off valve, you get compressor surge. the sound in this vid is either compressor surge or recirculation

  • That is the wastegate opening up. Don't know why people call it turbo bark but they do.

  • Turbo stop? that's a new one.

Anyways my 7.3 well I I just don't notice it. How do you do you make them so clear barking, stopping, surge. I want my 7.3 to sound like that haha Any advice anyone. Mods? I have videos of it on my channel

  • when you rev the engine and suddenly let off the gas it produces what is called a TURBO BARK. The fins in the turbocharger open up to release back pressure.

  • thats a turbo surge

  • turbo queef*

  • Cummins and powerjokes are infamous for it............

  • fuckin quad turbo fart yo

  • its called a turbo stop, my cummins does it alot

  • lmao a turbo stop?

  • yeah. when your turbo is pushing a lot of boost, and you drop the throttle, it slows your turbo down so it wont blow your engine. if i powerbrake my truck, it does it hard

  • that is a centrifugal compressor surge. a centrifugal surge is when compressed air is forced back through the compressor against the turbine a turbo is just like a Ingersoll rand centac compressor right down to the variable pitch vanes\diffuser. This turbo setup can cause trouble due to the extra moving parts but can be more efficient

  • @HardHatDummy yeah what he said

  • what mods are you running?

  • thats actually a "cough" its the VGT and the EGR systems working to relieve boost pressure

  • thats just back pressure ... perfectly normal

  • cant decide whether i like your black bumper cap or if it needs paint. either way the motherfucker looks good. im really feeling yours. i cant even explain how picky i am. i have a '06 crewcab black and put '08 mirrors on it, its still stock height w/ stock 20's.

  • thats bad for the motor... really bad..

  • its not bad its just play in the turbo

  • it doesnt hurt the turbo or motor at all?

  • no its just turbo flutter and its normal, its something to do with the veins in the turbo

  • It doesn't have anything to do with the vanes in the turbo. The 7.3 not whistling like the 6.0 has to do with the vanes, but not the turbo fart. The turbo fart comes from boots that's built up but isn't able to be used up through the exhaust. It has to go somewhere, so it just ends up getting fed back through the intake, and that's just the sound that it makes.

  • what kind of exaust r u runnin???? sounds good!

  • no good

  • compressor surge

  • What rpms do you go up to when reving?

  • that sounnd is the blow off valve the 7.3l has them stock so it kinda sounds like this guy dont know what he got

  • no this truck is a 6.0... the 7.3 has a different sound... you can barly hear the turbo whistle on the 7.3's

  • Hows your turbo holding up? Most think that sound is cool however since the 6.0 has no wastegate, that sound is the excess boost reversing out of the compressor housing. Really bad for the turbo...REALLY

  • Turbo is holding up great...143k miles and still running strong.

  • @airman2500 Mine is a 2005 and my turbo started doing that same sound once in a while. Then every time i let off the accelerator needed new turbo. after new turbo now it is doing it on acceleration and deceleration anyone know what is going on or is it time for another new turbo? ITS ONLY BEEN 2 MONTHS SENTS I HAD TO GET THE FIRST ONE REPLACED EVERYTHING IS STOCK ON MY TRUCK.

  • @airman2500 im thinking about buying a 2003 powerstroke with 140k miles, is your truck reliable at that many miles how is your tranny

  • does the 7.3 have a wastegate?

  • yes the 7.3 has a wastegate. i unplugged mine and got 5 lbs more boost, the compressor wheel didnt like it though. now that i have the wicked wheel on my turbo i will try it again

  • @giannicash my 6.0 does the same thing after too much boost, and it holds up, from what i have read though states that the turbo on the 6.0 is wastgated, its internal so that is what that sound is

  • @giannicash having a wastegate wont prevent compressor surge. a blow off valve would but they dont make them for 6.0s anyway

  • @giannicash it wouldn't be a wastegate. You are talking about BOV or a DV. Wastegates let out extra boost over a certain pressure.

  • @giannicash our work truck is a 2000 with 270,000 and 7.3 powerstroke has no waste gate runs just fine and go's down the road every day with no problem

  • @giannicash You do realize a wastegate is mounted on the turbine side, not the compressor side, and that it diverts excess exhaust flow from the turbine?

I think maybe you meant a 'blow off valve' which barely any diesels have anyway.

  • @giannicash your thinking of a blow-off valve, which as far as i know of no diesel pickups come with. where as a waste gate is basically a limiter for turbos, it opens once a certain boost level is reached and relieves pressure. its used to set a maximum boost so the turbo doesnt over-speed and wear prematurely. and although the turbo bark your hearing is not good for the turbo, most can handle the abuse.

  • SWEET RIDE!!

  • yea if you want shaft play keep it up

  • Definately not gonna have shaft play...thanks though.
