  • this is a woman?

  • Her voice, and this song, calm me right to my core. Beeeeeaaaautiful. Haunting memories of a love that could have been....

  • every type of emotion in a sublime voice..Diana Krall forever

  • Claudine Longet does the most moving version of this song, and she' really not a great singer.........I cannot find it on YouTube.

  • EXCELLENT can't beging to describe her voice.

  • you guys do know that this was originally sung to a seal called Sophie in the Rex Harrison Dr Dolittle yeah?

    rad cover tho Krall

  • @pirategirlvix "Isn't it a pity you're a seal?"

  • Makes my eyes water <3

  • Going to see her tonight in Toronto :D

  • To my ear, Krall's voice always sounds so COLD-without GENUINE feeling in the delivery-and her vocal range is so LIMITED that it amazes me how many folks think she is a great singer. This is an AMAZING song, and if you want to hear a GREAT singer perform it the way it was meant to be heard then listen to Lanie Kazan or Bobby Darin sing it, not Krall.

  • @Babyhowdy233

This is one of my favorite love songs, but I have to say, the best version is from Andy Williams in the 60's.

  • "...the wisdom of the world in your eyes, I see the sadness of 1000 goodbyes..." How profound!

  • this song takes my breath away! it reminds me of my husband, thank you.

  • WOW! What a song! What a singer!

  • que hermosa cancion... pero que excelsa voz...

Dios hace que sus angeles caigan para tentar con sus coros a la gente....

Sexitristedeprimente... q rayos es esta cancion...!!

  • going be romantic :) song is pretty.

  • magnifique, merci le son!

  • She can truly FEEL the music when she sings. Hauntingly beautiful!

  • Isn't this from "Dr. Doolittle" starring Rex Harrison?

  • This song takes me back to a time in my life, so surreal. filled with reckless excitement, laughter and tears. It has been near ten years and I still choose to believe that even if for the briefest of moments I saw a reflection of love for me in his eye. Like a match, it burned fast, bright and then was gone. I've learned to accept that moment as neither a blessing nor regret; rather, it simply was a moment shared.

  • @Theandnow1963

  • this is a marvelous song. thank you

  • this song turns my home into a magical place

  • Autumn comes, summer dies...oh what a sad, haunting song.

  • Has there ever been a sexier, more plaintive song ever written?!

  • GREAT SONG THE BEST

  • The strings section is so beautiful, so magical. The music is soft and her voice gives the perfect melody. It could be sung so beautiful by another divas like Linda Ronstadt, Ella, Sarah, Julie London, Nancy Wilson, ...but Diana put the same sensation of magic...of an unbelievable romance.........thank you.

  • The chord substitutions that she does are amazing! I'm thinking here, in particular, of her rendition of Lerner and loews "I've grown accustomed to his face". Ty Ty for the post:)

  • For Fadi (aka Vinny) RIP

  • Isn't it delicious to think that Rex Harrison once sang this to a seal dressed as a lady and it's recorded on FILM!

  • Jaaaki żal. ; |

  • For Hans van D

  • For stephen

  • for George...

  • Diana is soooooo sensitive and aware.

  • Es increible esta canción!!!!!!!!

  • si si si ! e dia de musica e amore

  • absolutely fantastic

  • i love it

  • Anyone know if the Andy Williams version is on YT anywhere?

  • FANTASTIC VOICE

  • great photo

  • Thank you for posting this. One of THE most beautiful romantic songs EVER!! Since I was a girl and I saw Rex Harrison sing it to Sophie the seal I have loved it!

  • この曲、サンタナでしか知らなかったけれど、彼女も歌ってたんですね。

  • One of the best songs of it's type ever. And Krall's rendition may be better in some ways than Rex Harrison's, although the poignant part in the movie with the seal helps.

  • A very beautiful song and a great performance!

  • buas!

    pero que pedazo de version.

    diana es la mas grande!!

  • First heard this song on radio and loved Dians version so much..the song came from the movie Dr. Dolittle the old version with R. Harrison. She makes this song sound so meaningful Thank you Millifaria for posting this!!!

  • Leslie Bricusse is THE most underrated composer in the history of music.

  • Amo este disco.buaff mazo de romántico

  • good song and performance....

  • I love the music !! honest! :)

  • I believe the first time I heard this song Rex Harrison was singing it to a seal in "Dr. Doolittle"!

Thanks for posting this! Diana Krall's performance is sultry goodness. This song is a fine example of Leslie Bricusse's songwriting genius.
