@SkatesPraise I would go with a Suzuki or a Yamaha ... the Kawasaki have been plagued with steering problems. I ride a 2004 Gsx-r 600 and the steering is damn near telepathic. dont just go for a brand or looks do some research. AMA racers have tested all of the bikes thousands of times so they know what they are talking about. Honda is good but I never liked them. I am on a Suzuki for life !!!

@SkatesPraise i'd go with something smaller than the zx14 as a starter. that's just asking to ruin a good bike and hurt yourself in the process. im a girl too and i started off with a suzuki gsxr 600 and for me it was a really good starter bike. throttle wasn't very touchy unlike that of the busa or the bigger engine sized ninjas.
@SkatesPraise It all depends on what you are comfortable on and what you can physically handle. I have seen plenty of females on 600s that are 5'2 100lb. Depends on what you want. Don't see many girls on 1400s but I see a lot of guys that are the size of girls on them so you never know.

@SkatesPraise A bike is only as fast as it's rider. I have had about 6 friends say "I should have gotten a 600 instead of the ninja 250 cuz now i see what you mean". 400 is ok but when you start riding you will get use to it within a few days. The more comfortable you get with a small bike the more bored you get. My zx14 can do 10mph just as easily as a 400cc bike. Just because the power is on tap doesn't mean you have to use it. No matter what the bike just don't be careless. EVER.
@BornBW For the record my wife is 5'2 100lb and she drives a zx6 Ninja lowered. I started her on a 125 dirt bike to teach her how to shift and turn. She never rode before. After a week or 2 on the sand she drove a ninja 250 one time then went to the 600. If you know how to ride safely then you can ride any bike that you can hold up. All comes down to personal preference.
Lowering a Busa requires a aftermarket triple tree whereas the ZX14 can be lowered on the stock tree. That's a plus for me. Comfort for long hauls is owned by the ZX14 all day long. I recently had to make the choice between a Busa and a 14 and believe me it wasn't easy.
I ended up with the 14. Both are great bikes and I wouldn't have gone wrong either way but I like touring and riding long distances.
Actually the Busa is two hundreth's of a tick quicker. Yes that's right, two hundreth's of a second. You can't even blink your left eye in two hundreth's of a second. Those two hundreths could easily be the differences in riders and/or a good run. Both are great bikes BUT, the ZX14 engine is by far smoother. It's transmission is also a bit slicker and more precise, rides better, doesn't handle quite as well as the Busa but it looks better in my opinion.
I see some idiot has given you the thumbs down. I own a stretched and lowered 06 zx-14 and I completely agree with you. Thumbs up on your opnion! I have beaten 08 busa's and been beaten by them.

There an't nothing out there faster and more powerful that a hayabusa nothing since 1999. First introduced in 1999 then kaw made a zx-12 the busa smoked that bike, then they made a zx-14 in 2006 once again the busa smoked that bike also. Then in 2008 suzuki made an even better hayabusa more powerful than the old one to once again leave kaw zx-14 in the dust.
I own a 14 and the busa is actually a tick faster than the 14, back in 06 the 14 was the top dog that had the zuk people scratching their heads but since the 08 busa has come out it has a bit more to the rear wheels than the kawi but yes it does boil down to rider at this point, both bikes have their ++++++'s

UM I think you need to get your facts straight. the 14 doesn't have a 100 cc larger engine. Its more like 12 cc's more. The 09 busa has 1340 cc the 09 14 has like 1352 cc's(i think)

Well, even the first gen 'busas are only down 53cc to the ZX, and for overall quality, the Hayabusa can't match, as far a performance, it all comes down to who's riding, I saw the video you speak of where the riders switch, and the ZX won the second race, there really neck and neck, also there's no way you stock 2001 busa made 176hp at the wheel, maybe 155 at the most(seen it myself), hell my stock '07 14 turned out 158hp at the wheel, and that was on a hot Florida summer day.

I'd take a CBR 1000 over a Busa just for the body style and weight. Fuck I'd ride a 600RR over a Busa.
