  • a friend of mine told me he was a disney character in the early 1980s. he did do a variety of them, but he mostly did pluto. so mabye that might be him at 08:40.

  • I would LOVE to be Rapunzel, or Belle! :D

  • $18. For one day. WOW.

  • If I could choose a part it would be either mickey ( of course) because it would just be fun or chip or Dale cuz most kids don't know what they are or what there from so they won't care so it dosnt require slot of skill xD

  • I want 2 be Peter Pan @ Disney world!!!!!!

  • I can't wait, someday I'm going to Disneyland (not Disney World) and auditioning to be Alice. It will be the one of the most happiest days in my life if they let me have the part. :D :D

  • GREAT PARADE! I was in that cast! thanks for sharing!

  • Disney needs too make the character rules much stricter because there are so many violiations of the rules here on youtube and they need to be addressed, so many videos need to be taken down, i would feel so terrible if a child mistakinly found a video with mickey not fully dressed

  • @walee1990 I take the point, but who would let a child young enough to still believe that the characters are real have free reign of the internet?

  • @DeepSixed300 you'd be suprised, so suprised, i'm a cast member now, and yea your right kids are a lot smarter these days, and sometimes a little more annoying, but that doesn't mean because some don't believe in the magic anymore they should ruin a firsrt expierence for others. so yea they might not bother some but hell, they need to come down, disney needs to buy youtube, they own everything else lol

  • now it's $18.00 x 10

  • This starts with some great footage of the Donald Duck 50th Birthday Parade from 1984 - brilliant !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I like the dinosaur computers haha. Turn styles, wow I almost forgot about those.

  • cool

  • I've seen them with there heads off, but at universal... its creepy... like there head looks really small...

  • Great video. thanks

  • So cuuute

  • That poor Jungle Cruise skipper that's being trained! "It's so much to remember." Hahaha, and "SPIEL" not "SHPIEL."

  • If only the guest appreciate all we do...... lol but they don't XD

  • @KookyMush same here in california

  • At least they can smoke underground! hee hee

  • All of the cast members in costumes ( e.g Mickey , Minnie ) They are not allowed to take their mask off ?

  • @TheVeggietalesfan1 no of course not, even if they throw up, you have to wait until you get in the dressing room

  • sorry digitalpretzel. i accidently spammed you instead of hitting reply. i had to rewind that part to be sure i heard it correctly lol

  • i love how now they have signs in the tunnel breakrooms saying "your mother doesnt work here, clean up after yourselves!!!!"

  • i know it cracks me up, haha

  • HA HA they have signs like that in the staff member break room at a salvation army camp I work at every summer! It's so funny!

  • Iws that true I have several Friends That Have Worked There And None Of Them are... wel... stoners lol

  • I love the monotone voice of the narrator

  • Man.....that was kinda creepy.

  • hi i have a audition as a character performer for disneyland paris at the end of jan o9 i am really excited about it,do character performers also work on stage aswell.

  • Narration fail.

"In the days when Disney toured the park in person..."

We are talking about the Magic Kingdom, right?

Disney had died years before the Magic Kingdom was built.

    Fail.

  • i think maybe they were talking about disneyland?

  • they could have been talkimg about Disneyland, or even Roy E Disney maybe!

  • @TectonaRivv there's a Magic Kingdom at Disneyland also

  • $18 then, $75 now. DAMN YOU, GAS PRICES!!

  • $18.00 admission OMG, this is old. :)

  • We definitely just watched this video in my Principles of Marketing class at Ithaca College this spring. A bit dated, but still awesome.

  • Guest not customers,

    Cast Members not employees!

    Excellent!

  • @woodywoodsen also attractions not rides

  • @woodywoodsen As soon as i heard him say customers i literally yelled "There are no customers in Disney, only guests!"

  • @woodywoodsen The speaker does correct the terms though :p

  • Wow, 19,000 workers in 1983. 55,000+ now! That's insane!

  • This is a great video! 25 years ago and now, wow!

  • this is a great video!

  • I think the woman talking at 7:55 into this video, her name is Claire. This was shot in 1983, but I can tell it looks and sounds like her. She still works there and does the "Keys to the Kingdom Tour".

  • $18 tickets? pshaw as if!

  • I know! What a steal, compared to the $75.00something that is worth now, per person.

  • *lol*

  • OMG, we still use that Birthday song at Disneyland. The more things change....

  • i noticed the town square cast members in the video were pointing with one finger. i thought that was a big no-no for disney.

  • It's possible that was staged with (non-cast-member) actors, but my guess is that the girl pointing with one finger was being trained and hadn't started doing the two-finger point reflexively, like seasoned CMs.

  • Why?

  • why they're supposed to point with two fingers? well it's cause it's impolite to point with one finger and it's also easier to see where someone is pointing with two fingers.

  • also because in some countries it's not just your middle finger that is very rude to point with. i know in some guest service facilities like disney, they have them use their whole just as a precaution.

  • haha. You know what's funny? I think it feels weird to point with two fingers or the whole hand. I do it at work sometimes and it just feels weird. But I try to get into the habit of it. I don't work at Disney, btw. So it's just me trying it out. Maybe cause it's not common practice? That's why it feels weird? I don't know.

  • a whole hand is disrespectful in greece...its considered 5 of the middle fingers...no joking

  • well... who even likes the greeks. jk

  • Gee! That video is interesting! I've been to Disney world for the very first time at christmas time last year! I'm going there again January 19,2008!
