  • Bravo !!

  • what are those cylinders for?

  • @bladehowell Probably used to create a specific sound for the vocals. I think Paste just gave the cylinders to them, they used them pretty creatively.

  • how do people dislike this??

  • Love this Band, Love this Song.

  • anyone know the chords?

  • @thatwalrusguy Chords are rather simple. C F C F C Em Am G F G C C7th for the verses and then F Em Am Em, F Em Am G G7th for the bridges

  • @iriemon2469 thanks stranger! its appreciated!

  • damn i was wondering what he was hitting for the drum beat until about 3:30. it's awesome that they got that sound from those boxes

  • Pretentious? I suppose you call any good music pretentious? This is the real deal right here folks. This is how music is supposed to be.

  • lyrically uplifting, effortlessly flowing, symbolically righteous. Stupid good, in other words. Its sad that my generation of music will be remembered for rap, lady gaga, and boy bands. Long live the great bands between the lines!!

  • this song is sick, i dont know why anyone would think this is pretentious, its just a good song!

  • This is absolutely perfect.

  • beautiful <3

  • that was sick

  • This version of the song is perfect. I hope they record a studio version in this style someday.

  • it's off Passed Away, Volume 1 although that version sounds a bit different.

  • fuh

  • "nothing worth anything is strong enough to last" . Word, Dr. Dog.

  • so. beautiful.

  • anyone know what album this is off of or if its a cover?

  • @aadmharris it's from "passed away, vol. 1"

  • @melodyerlea Thanks

  • @aadmharris it's from "passed away, vol. 1"

  • Someone Post the Chords to this song.

  • @chatoXvato Verse is C Fmaj7 C Fmaj7 C Em Am Am/G F G C. You can hold the G on the high E string during the C Fmaj7 transitions if you want, not sure if thats what they are doing. Im about to listen to the rest of it and figure it out and I'll post it for you

  • @chatoXvato k, the chorus comes in from a C7, then Am Em F Em, Am Em F G G7 then back to the verse on C. Hope this helps you out man

  • @aadmharris o man thanks, is this standard tuning to btw?

  • in this particular song he sounds like Tom T, Hall

  • phenomenal

  • @mitchcorbin i believe music can cure emotions, and obviously thenameingofthings sees it too. and YOU sir, are oblivous to see that.

  • @TheNamingOfThings

That's the fagiest thing I've ever heard someone say.

  • Whenever I'm having a bad day I find this video and I instantly feel a little better. Dr. Dog can cure the world's sorrows.

  • This is the stuff that sends shivers down spines.

  • This song sounds very Dylan-esc

  • I'm really diggin this song right now

  • Wow, great performance.

  • When the hell is the music industry going to go back to beautiful rock music like this? I wanna shake the crunk off my 2 teenage boys! Geez it's sickening, the music coming out like this, The Teeth, Fleet Foxes etc etc would be dominating the radio not that long ago. Why is an autotuner the new it thing? It's a device for people who cant sing, come on!!!

  • Let's just say this... I love you and I love my dog.....

  • This was amazing! They use simple objects to make their songs sound perfect!

  • Totally Tubular!

  • i listen to this religiously

  • Just unreal. Plain and simple.

  • heh, sounds like dylan. better than I can write. more prone to their older stuff though, doo ap doo wa.

  • i hate how people listen to this and say dr. dog is pretentious. they are the most original band ive heard in a long while.

  • i agree so much

  • I absolutely love this band!

  • this is magnificent

  • I couldn't stop watching/ listening to it either. I play the video serveral times a day, it's refreshing.

  • Love it, so beautifully uncomplicated!!

  • damn good!!!

  • wow tubes, i would of never even fathomed to some like that. simply amazing

  • this is tight. I never heard of them until I heard the Heart it Races remix. pretty dope.

  • I've got a total wooder right now

  • I cant stop visiting this page, sometimes i listen to it about 4 times over and over. Best song i've heard in a while

  • @TheAtomiser ditto

  • Standing in the Light from Passed Away!! I love this song no matter.

  • this is such a great song.

    i can`t stop listen it...

  • I can't stop listen it either! LOL

  • Dr. Dog never fails to blow me away. been listening to these guys for only a year now and i can't stop jamming them. finally get to see them in october at ACL in Austin. Cant wait.

    thanks for the vid!

  • i don't think its pretentious. they have earned the right to sing a song like this. it might be annoying if all their songs sounded like this one, but they are really versatile and have a lot of good upbeat rock songs to balance it out. its too bad more people don't appreciate dr. dog.

  • @jm1043 if you think that there songs are annoying maybe you dont really "appreciate dr dog." and just because someone sticks to their sound doesnt make them annoying by the way.

  • @jm1043 fuck yea

  • and what are you?

  • I can't stop watching this video

  • These guys are great,

    Awesome Lyrics

  • what? every album is good. toothbrush is not weird, its fantastic. if you ask me, which album i prefer really depends on which day of the week it is.

  • so right it all depends on how i feel at the moment, and its very great how well these guys work together all having clear individual input on they're songs

  • "well ive seen as far as my eye can see

and i blew my mind in the mystery, yet i walk in the land of the blind"

  • What a lyricist...

So happy they're young and still evolving!

  • passed away is my fav.

  • this is wonderful

  • oh yeah, I forgot how perfect We All Belong is! I have a limited edition vinyl which I treasure.

  • great song! I think it would've fit nicely on "Easy Beat", which is the second best album of the 2000's, right after "Fate". word up.

  • we all belong is better than fate mcmickens songs are all timeless classics on that album

  • much agreed. we all belong is their best album. Fate has some of their best songs, but overall does not match we all belong in mah opinion

  • I think Easy Beat is their best. Can't beat Oh No and Easy Beat, and Dutchman Falls

  • Aw gee whiz guys, don't think of Dr. Dog in terms of this album was better than that album. There's just no use for that subjective judging. We all love the Dog. Just think of Dr. Dog as a great big beautiful entity that roams the land and plays good music and makes us all better for it.

But fo real Toothbrush is kinda weird.

  • you're right. But talking about Toothbrush, the ABCs is actually the best song ever written. :-)

  • Very Cool...

  • Sweet song!

  • this makes me feel like my heart is going to explode.

  • Reminds me of Bob Dylan. I'm not saying he's better than Dylan, just reminds me of him, so all you hardcore Dylan fans back off.

  • I agree, man. The lyrics, the guitar... there are even some hints of Mr. Zimmerman in the voice. Deep, solid stuff. The Beatles of the 21st century, I dare-say.

  • i dare say you are correct by your dare-say.

  • @ahkoostick good yes

but not quite the beatles of the 21st century i dont think

  • @ahkoostick good yes

but not quite the beatles of the 21st century i dont think

probably a bit early to call that one...

  • the tube sound reminds me of bob dylan tambourine man the old video lol

  • this has gotta be one of the greatest songs ever written.

  • It's called "I'm Standing in the light" actually

  • Probably the most beautiful song I've heard in a while. Scott is the next Bob Dylan. Love his voice and the rest of the band is just so simply amazing.

  • stop comparing him to bob dylan. he is scott and bob is bob.

  • Respect.

  • This song was done ages ago I believe, as it was on Passed Away, Dr. Dog's album of various old songs from like the last decade. The version of this on Passed Away is so lo-fi, but it adds to how great it is.

  • Is this song new since Fate? I've never heard it.

  • This song is beautiful, but two things are missing in this video: Scott's sunglasses, and Juston. However, there are more cardboard tubes than you usually see at a Dr. Dog show, so it's ok.
