I love this game but I got so frustrated. I never finished it, the reason is because I was about to fight ultimecia and my brother accidently erased my saved data from the computer (got the PC version) then I got the playstation version and was almost at the end of the game when suddenly the disc was "broken" and I couldn't pass that part.
Then I got a third disc, also for playstation and well my cousin borrowed it (without asking by the way) and broke that one too. after that i NEVER played it
I sympathize with you... It was after I beat the game, but when I started a new save, my little brother ended up deleting 3 of my files. Every time I would yell at him, and everyone in my house yelled at me because he was like 10. I was so pissed, 2 of the files were the ones where I had roughly 60 hrs. of gameplay because I got Squall up to lvl 100 in the first disc XD. I share your pain leesha.... please finish the game, it is beautiful..

It sucks that your game was erased. =/ That happened to me with FFX, but I didn't let that stop me from doing all that stuff all over again... because I def. wanted all of it back. Lol I played it enough times to know the plot characters and chain of events by heart. I've played all of the final fantasy's that way (even 12 although the story sucked). I spent 254 hours on a single file and had a total of three files with 500 cumulative hours (on twelve alone). FFXII is easy to master compared to the others though (unless you go for the danjuro and the grand helm like I did). Took me over 50 hours to get the danjuro. I was luckier with the grand helm.
For FFVIII I raised most of my stats to 255 (much harder than in FFVII and FFViI was HARD to do) I was 3/4 of the way there and hunting cacti to get the item I needed to up squall's speed stat when I started the game over to see a certain cinematic. Thats when I accidentally erased the file I worked so hard on with the new file (for the second time!!). I just moved on to the next FF after that.
I don't mind at all. :) Back when I did this video, I got all my cutscenes at bluelaguna (dot) net website. For my newest FF8 video, I ripped them directly from the game itself.
I think that from all the videos that i have seen made out from Final fantasy 8 , this one is still my favourite of all times ! it's sooo beautiful ! My favorite song with my favorite love story , haw can it go wrong ! plus it's made by a pro in romantic movies !!! Bravo Jk4lyphe !

She is tricky, but not hard. All you have to do is make sure not to use limit breaks or summons on her because that would also kill Rinoa. You have to cast regen on Rinoa so her life can continue to be restored, while you hit Adel.
I want one too, but even if we don't see a remake, you can still see a new version of Squall in the PSP fighting game "Dissidia: Final Fantasy". The release date is still unknown though.

Yeah, Rinoa does look a bit like her. And indeed, Squall and Leon are the same person, just that in KH2, they gave him a different background from FF8 (bcuz they're two diff. games)plus, they made him 25.
Yeah, Roxette was the original. The one I used was by DHT - A Belgian pop duo. Edmee (the female singer) sings this slower version of their dance club mix.

iv heard a rumour that they ARE dong VIII & not VII the clips for the PS3 were just demos to show what the PS3 is capable of which is abit daft, don't know how acurate it is, it was only word of mouth. I hope it's not true because i REALLY want them BOTH re-made, but if it came to choosing it would be VII all the way!! Love the vid btw, but im sure iv said that once before =D
Ironically, the designer (Nomura) based Squall's looks off the actor River Phoenix, who died of a drug overdose years ago. ._. They do look alike, it's just a pity he's gone. Gackt kinda has a similar look.

I just beat the game today. FINALLy. after like 20 years and i hope they do a remake like they will with the seventh one. Beautiful video.

iv heard a rumour that they ARE dong VIII & not VII the clips for the PS3 were just demos to show what the PS3 is capable of which is abit daft, don't know how acurate it is, it was only word of mouth. I hope it's not true because i REALLY want them BOTH re-made, but if it came to choosing it would be VII all the way!! Love the vid btw, but im sure iv said that once before =D

I agree, they should remake it but I definitely wouldn't mind if they made a FF8 movie sequel sort of like AC. ^_^ I'd petition for that!

Ironically, the designer (Nomura) based Squall's looks off the actor River Phoenix, who died of a drug overdose years ago. ._. They do look alike, it's just a pity he's gone. Gackt kinda has a similar look.
