@suprax5 Thanks for posting! You're right, a good finder does show the edges. The one I'm using in the video does that. The problem with stud finders is that they show any dense material behind the wall as a stud- gas lines, pipes, bundles of cables, electrical panels, etc. Imagine drilling a hole into a gas line or electric panel. It's not worth it. I recommend you always double check by poking the holes.

A decent studfinder will accurately tell you where the edges of the studs without having to put a series of holes in the wall.
