  • Did you get you user name RomonFlowers from scott pilgrim vs the world?

  • @kbaggott1 No, that's actually my real name. I never heard of Scott Pilgrim.

  • They can't dance like russians. Parody...

  • ramon is/was a great dancer : superb balon (esp in chinese - nutcracker) a great Richie in A Chorus Line and as funny as hell in PA Ballet class. Great in Shimon Brauns works as well!

  • @miamiscifi Wow, thank you for the wonderful comment! All the best. Ramon

  • black russian dancer, yeah! :-)

  • @AcruxRus No such thing as black russian dancer, he is not slavic thus he cannot be russian. Good job to him but id prefer if he stuck to his jungle stomp cannible dance. Kthx

  • @EvilKorbinDallas I have no hostility to black. It's just funny to me, that negro dance russian or ukranian traditional dance. In my city I've seen them only 5 or 10 times. So, it's really ridiculously for me.

  • @AcruxRus Negro? You REALLY need to update your calendar, its not the 1950's anymore. You really are "ridiculously' no matter what is your primary language. a great dancer is a great dancer. and if your chrstian..remember christ was closer to black -ethiopian, than to the anglo saxon rendering which is so common.....and no im not black

  • @EvilKorbinDallas Wow, I've never read something so ignorant and racist as your comment. You assume that because my skin is dark that I learned to dance in the jungle, and I actually eat people. Get your head out of your ass, it's 2012, time to evolve!!! FYI, I've never even been near a jungle, nor Africa for that matter. I was born in The USA, and was classically trained at an internationally renown ballet school.

  • black russian dancer, yeah! :-)

  • I was a russian in my Nutcracker and it was much different! We even had a Russian bear for some reason.... and the $ Russian girls were 11 or 12. This is very good tho, just different!!!

  • The pants are really Ukrainian (I'm from Ukraine, I know what I'm talking about :)

And the dresses of the girls are also Ukrainian. Maybe it's becouse so many Ukrainians live in Canada, I don't know...

  • @poluninav Maybe....or it could be that Ukraine did not exist in 1892 Russia so they are RUSSIAN lol. Ukraine was not another nation when this ballet was written.

  • @gat0rbball

the fact that Ukraine as an independant state didn't exist in 1892 doesn't mean that Ukrainians are Russians!!! it wasn't another state but it was another nation with its own culture, language, traditions and costumes!

this melody is really a nice Russian one that's why it seems to me a little bit strange that they're dancing in Ukrainian costumes

  • @poluninav I think you misunderstood. Ukraine wasn't its own nation prior to 1971(i think)...but wasnt its own nation since the 12th century. So would the ukraine costume and dance be a part of Russian Identity because it was part of the Russian state as well? Specifically it would be part of ukraine, but it would be generally Russian as well.

  • @gat0rbball

So, was Ukraine its nation from the 12th century or from 1971? :) Actually Ukraine became independent in 1991 and was its own nation since the 8th century. You simplifies the things. To say that Ukrainian costume is the part of Russian identity means to say that cultures (and costumes) of all nations that were the part of Russian empire and late of the USSR. Ask any Russian you know if they think that Georgian, Uzbek, Armenian and so on cultures are the part of their own identity?

  • Ответить на это видео...

I'm Ukrainian and inspite of that fact that I was born in the USSR, Russian culture is not the part of my identity even if I love it and think it has something common with my culture. Don't mix up the things, not everyone from Poland to China is Russian!!! There are a lot of DIFFERENT nations and cultures!

I think this discussion is a little bit out of place here. I would prefer not to argue with you any more, it's better to listen to this charming musik :)

  • @poluninav

Speaking for myself, I've been guilty of grouping everything from Poland to China in one culture because of the USSR that was there when I was growing up. What a shame. I bet your culture and many others there are wonderful. I know it's childish, but I wish the world could spend less energy on wars and conflicts and instead getting to know each other and sharing our variety of music, food, and culture. Sure would be fun!

  • @poluninav

Russians and Ukrainians - ONE BLOOD AND ONE PEOPLE FOREVER. NO MORE SLAVIC DISUNITY. We are bound together by Orthodox Christianity . The Russian state was founded in Kiev during the 8TH CENTURY BY Rurik and only Catholic Svolach fascists attempt to divide our 2 great people.

  • @VisionarysDomain Hey vis..how about a unity where we get rid of all the ignorance, from what I assume is inbreeding.. well that would cancel you out no matter what race you are. again christianity- remember christ was ethiopian and black, sorry to alter your false facade of intelligence and knowledge. ( or lack thereof) GUYS who want to further comment remember the saying: never try to teach a pig to sing..it doesnt work and annoys the pig....so lets not annoy him further

  • @miamiscifi

Whatever you say ! Next I will here from you that ballet was invented in Africa. Spare me your stupidity and rhetorical B.S.

  • @VisionarysDomain rhetoric "hello pot meet the kettle" Where something is invented has nothing to do with the current execution. Your fallacies of logic are ridiculous, unfounded in reality, wallowing in ignorance. As a retired pro dancer myself, YOU sir have no idea of which you speak which is perhaps why you have such a bilous, perverse, foolish and unfounded 1950s "mentality" I believe "never try to teach a pig to sing, it doesnt work and annoys the pig' thus Ill annoy you no further..

  • Russia is where the professional ballet dancers live.

  • @Farfeb Well how do you define professional? Everywhere else in the world professional means being paid for your craft!!!!!

  • @RamonFlowers Very skillful in a ballet.

  • @Farfeb Well thank you, but I live in new York!

  • @Farfeb I understand you say. I think that ballet dancers are the best performing russian ballet suites. Russian dancers are the best dancing their dances. Russian dance from Nut. is trepak, a traditional dance. I prefert russian dancers, too.

  • @Farfeb true pro dancers live in russia, and poland, and england and even cuba.. pro=getting paid for your efforts........ quite a few 'pros' here

  • Wow! Gotta admit Russians are really good dancers.

  • Hey awesome video! I love nutcracker suite.

  • @bluesjack82 Thank you!

  • spenldid piourettes

  • @POLMAZURKA Thank you!

  • Dont worry, my friend, your video is really awesome, i love the nutcracker suite! and all the classic music! congrats! foor this video!!

  • @bassman19889 Thank you!

  • that was awesome. it was like the traditional russian dance, but with much more flare. much more exciting to watch!

  • @JasmineDancer13 Thank you for your wonderful compliment, it really means a lot to me since so many people have such bad things to say to me on here!

  • @RamonFlowers You're welcome. Apparently people are not watching your dancing and your stage presence because that's what really stands out. They're just focusing on the choreography because its different. but different is refreshing sometimes!

  • @JasmineDancer13 You're probably right Jasmine, most people on here have no talent, so they just like to take their frustration out on people who are just here doing what they love to do! It's refreshing to have people like you on here to create a healthy balance between the two.

  • GREAT!! VIDEO!!!! AWESOME!

  • @bassman19889 Thank you for your wonderful compliment, it really means a lot to me since so many people have such bad things to say to me on here!

  • WOW. I think that was the best trepak I've ever seen! Congrats to you, Ramon! Those moves must have been impossible to rehearse!

  • @commonsenseforUSA Thank you for your wonderful compliment, it really means a lot to me since so many people have such bad things to say to me on here!

  • ur pretty good dude! congrats!!!!

  • @Gettobootybaby3 Thank you for your wonderful compliment, it really means a lot to me since so many people have such bad things to say to me on here!

  • Wow! Ukrainian pants and moves! That's funny version!

  • Thanx a lot for this dance! It's amazing!i'm russian and t's my favourite ballet! <3

But the pants really are Ukranian)))

    5*

  • @ApeLSine483 Thank you for your wonderful compliment, it really means a lot to me since so many people have such bad things to say to me on here!

  • @ApeLSine483 well, that "pants"as you call them are not slavic at all and were borrowed from turks.

  • @ProudRussinSoul its a costume in a ballet, not a documentary

  • @miamiscifi so what? They are part of ukrainian national costume and were borrowed from turks. They are not slavic at all.Don't say what you don't know.

  • I like your moves Ramon really

  • Thank you!

  • Ramon, you have some incredible moves, my friend! Amazing!! If I wasn't such a fatbody myself, I would love to take up dance...LOL! Again, you are just amazing to watch!

  • Thank you, and don't be so hard on yourself, dance is for everybody, and one of the best ways to get exercise!

  • SO BEAUTIFUL!! I LOVE IT !!

  • i love the breakdance!

  • REMEMBER EVERYONE that blue pants like this are exclusively ukrainian thing. I know better than some of you who aren't even russian!

  • And like the brakdancing is typically Ukrainian thing... :P

  • I LOVE seeing different versions of the Nutcracker... especially to this song!!!

  • >>why he dressed Ukrainian costum

Because the piece is based on the Ukainka Tropak.

  • Respect)):

LOL))): never seen Trepak like this before:

why he dressed Ukrainian costum? Kosak.

for what are girls came on the stage?

    ok enough,

respect to dancer he did his BEST, but the choreograf must be kicked out after that

  • Thank you for your comment. I was told that Trepak is a Ukrainian dance, ergo the costume. Most people in the states call the dance to this piece of music, the Russian dance, but we don't really know the true history behind it, so please forgive our ignorance.

  • you are wellcome)):

Trepak is actually Russian dance, in Ukraine it's name like Tropak so not so big different just one latter, and i'm sure that in Ukraine Tropak dance is realy looks totaly enother.

  • I never head the Tropak name, living in Ukraine, but it'm sure that even the music of Ukrainian dance is different - it's typically nice russian melodic! :)

  • I <3 this song!! my fav song in the nutcracker

  • This is cool. I'd never seen it before, though of course I've heard that music all my life, in everything from cartoons to commercials.

I think my neighbors hate you now. LOUD! But hey, it was still cool.

  • I'm glad you like it! Sorry about the neighbors!

  • my ears are like roses right now by my eyes are on fire.

  • this is beautiful. why don't people like it???

    anyway, 5/5

    :D

  • Thank you so much! Positive feed back is always welcome. I get so many of the negative comments all the time.

  • Ugh... great song... but... piercing...ears...

  • We're playing the Nutcracker Suite in Wind Ensemble....Now I want to go see the Ballet performance!!!

  • i hope i can do this dance..it's beautiful..

  • i know the moves can be different in each ballets performance, but altho they are wonderful dancers i really dont like the moves in this performance. As dancers they are great tho.

  • I'm in this dance!

  • Cool, me too....LOL which one are you?

  • is that barack obama

  • In so many ways yes!

  • niiiice. I can't believe this only has a 3.5 star rating.

  • Thank you! It's seem that most people didn't really like my performance that may be why my ratings are so low. I stopped trying to please everybody a long time ago, but I'm very happy I could please you!

  • good job! we're playing this song in orchestra...it's really pretty

  • we are too..lol..but we cant play it like that..

  • cool! :] i'll post it when we have our concert, except we're only in middle school...

  • im am too...lol

  • cool. :] i'll add you as a friend...then when i post the video i'll send it to you :]

  • who were the matriochkas???? im doing it this year :)

  • Thanks for the video!!

This is funny because I actually know one of the Matriochka!!! Lol

Where did you get this video from?

  • Nevermind... I thought it was from last year :P Oh well whoever danced it, it was amazing :)

  • I got it from the video person at LGB before I left the company.

  • That's cool :)

Were you dancing in this video?

  • Yes, I'm the male lead!

  • Wow, that's amazing :)

    Are you still dancing?

  • Kstati, Ramon, ya protiv Vas nichego ne nagovaryval. Prosto pol'zujus vozmozhnost'ju ispravit' oshibku v terminah. Vy ochen' talantlyvye. Bravo !

  • Никакая проблема! Я оцениваю это. Если это является наступательным украинским людям, чтобы назвать этому российский сообщите мне танец, потому что я не хочу оскорбить любого.

  • One minor correction Trepak is based on the Ukrainian dance Tropak/Tripak. It was and will always be a Ukrainian dance. Tchaikovsky was an ethnic Ukrainian( reall last name Tchaika, which is a Cossack last name). Nice work by all.

  • Thank you for all of the information. I actually knew that, but for some reason, people in the USA either call this the Russian, or Candy Cane dance in the Nutcracker. I only put Russian after Trepak to make it easy to find. Most people never hear that name referred to this solo before.

  • Hi Ramon, yes. There is considerable confusion about the proper way to refer to this dance. I undertand you weren't referring to the dance being Russian, but rather referencing the name of the dance in the Nutcracker. With the whole debacle on the dance show it's raised alarm bells with the Ukrainian community worldwide. We're sensitive right now, so don't mind us too much :)))As I said, you're a talented dancer and linguist. Well done on both fronts.

  • Ramon, hope you still dance. Also, I'm impressed at your multilingual skills. You must have a couple of keyboards. Mine only does English, or is it a specific software you are using?

  • Yes, I'm still dancing. The most recent thing I danced on here is Fever, that was last year. I do the language stuff on my word program. I do speak a few languages from my years of traveling around the world though. All the best.

    Ramon

  • that was good, but if you want to see a GREAT Russian Trepak, SERACH JOSHUA AND TWITCH RUSSIAN TREPAK

  • at our dance studio, we made an other version of this dance, we made it so about 15 girls would be able to dance it.. its really the same dance but with 15 girls and 2 boys.. it was for the advanced kids.. the auditions were really hard.. i was in it for 4 years, yaaaay.. but YES, we were EXTREMELY tired after each time we rehearsed it or when we danced it at opening night.. it was awesome.. so much applause..! LUV it.!
  • Funny, that year I was an angel in the ballet :-) Well, congratulations, you are very good!

  • Well, looks like we worked together...LOL

    Thanks again,

    Ramon

  • You're welcome! :-) I know how difficult this is! I've worked for the Nutcracker behind the curtains and I've seen how exhausted the dancers were after this solo! :-) When were you a dancer for Les Grands Ballets?

  • 1996-97

  • I looooooove this version! And to everyone who thinks this isn't russian dance, it's because it's inside the Nutcracker. Stop complaining please!!! And Ramon Flowers, you're amazing! :-)

  • Thank you so much! It's so nice to have someone enjoy my performance for a change. I dance because I love it, and it makes me very happy to know that there are people out there who can appreciate it for what it is!

  • ahem but thats a very mulled down version of the dance i hail from russia and that i would say this dance the man performed is a mulled version of the original dance performed by companies( my friends a ballet dancer and her company are fun to work with) anyways i guess i should say every teacher and company director have diffrent ways of doing things

but anyways still its not easy to dance like he did so i must say

beautiful performance i liked the ending of course

  • this is awesome!SHUTTUP MEAN PPL

  • Thank you!

  • Bad version, once again. And like I said earlier, tempo change?!!?!?!?! WHY??!?!?! It just made it worse and more stupidly distracting.

  • You're an idiot, the tempo change isn't intentional, it was a glitch in the upload, that didn't actually happen in the live performance. This was with a live orchestra! If you don't like the version I'm dancing why don't you just stay the fuck away from my site, Upload the version you like, and watch it until the cows come home!

  • I don't like it.

    I think it was awful.

  • So don't watch it! Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one, but maybe you should keep yours between your legs.

  • hahahahahahaha

  • yo yo yo i'm only wachin this cos i gota do a play bout it

  • Whatever works!

  • i personally liked it...it was a little slow though. in our nutcracker we have a male an 2 females as well but the male is played by a girl and all 3 dancers are very active in it and not just backround. in fact this year i am a female. it is very fun!

  • According to my Bulgarian lady who lived in USSR for 8 years, the guy was dancing in the Ukrainian style and the girls in the Russian style! She also said the guy's dress was more Ukrainian then Russian. But it's a Canadian Ballet Company, and we Canadians are Perfect. Understand? Perfect. LOL

  • sup with all the negativity.

this is like traditional russian dance on the girls part. the guys part not so much . but the costumes are totally russian. and the choreography is great. unless someone wants to show me a better dance ? then we can talk.

but i think they did great .

  • I tried to write this in RU, but don't have the vocabulary for it. I thought the women's costumes were more Ukrainian in style than Russian. Am I wrong about that?

  • You may be correct on that one. I'm sorry to say that I have no idea, I'm just a dancer, not that it's a bad thing...LOL Someone else on here mentioned something about the women's costumes.

  • Who do you dance with? A Ballet Company?

I based my question on the fact that in my home city of Toronto, Canada, there was an annual folk festival, with both Russian and Ukrainain Canadians doing their things. The Ukrainian women's dresses were longer, tighter, and much less "swingy", whereas the Russian gals wore skirts that were shorter, fuller, and, well, to put it mildly, one could get more glimpses of "girly things" when they spun! LOL!

  • At the moment I'm doing commercials, and I'm back in school. I was most recently doing Broadway musicals.

  • I already did the role of one of the girls in back it was really fun

  • hmm, i've seen better...

    but it's interesting

  • I was a little disapointed by this... The ballet-ouest version was A LOT better.

  • Then why don't you look for that version, and go watch it instead! Afterwards, you could leave a comment there, for someone who gives a S**T.

  • I like this choreography - something new and intersting!Good job !

  • Yeah, I don't like the choreography either. I think that if that changed, along with tuning down his clothes, he would appear more graceful and less rapper-ish.

  • I don't like this choreography.

  • he has bad feet but he's not that bad. dont be so hard on him. there has been ton of dancers who have learned to work with bad feet. he needs to get a little more grace and a tad more flexible. all and all good though

  • look..his feet were so not pointed..although he is was energetic he is not cut out for Russian Ballet,ABT,or any other professional dance company. sorry if he is already professional i don't think he makes much of a career out of ballet(take up acting..good performer)

  • i love this vid <3!!! hehehe xD omg

  • turned out feet doesnt make up for dead ones..he needs to pointe them

  • he's not that good ive seen better

  • I thought he was really good. His feet were always turned out, he had energy, and his jumps were high. I'd have to disagree.
