  • Tous ses albums ne me suffisent pas.. merci pour ces morceaux de mon Rod éparpillés !!

  • For all their years,Rod and Elton were none the less active and energetic as ever.

  • I am very sorry , maybe I don't understand anything. But how can we cal the sound which Rod Stewart made ? Would it be honest to call it singing ?

Or just whispering ? Just wonder is it because he cannot sing at all or simply he was not in a very good shape at this perfomance ???

  • @DrFantastic1987 Lol! yeah, Elton sings this better than anyone.

  • wish their was a video of this ...so I can tell what the audience was chuckling about!

  • What made the audience laugh at 0:40?

  • Sharon and Phyllis! Brilliant!

  • @Eltonizer Why is elton known as Sharon and Rod as Phyllis... appreciate any answer.. Beautiful performance from a couple of best friends..

  • Well, here are some stories about Sharon & Phyllis....

Elton & Rod have known each other since the sixties. They both worked with musician Long John Baldry in England. The first time Reg Dwight (as Elton was called then) met Rod Stewart was when Rod performed with Baldry at a club in Penner, Regs home town, while Reg was still in school. Elton remembers going up to the musician and saying, "Excuse me, Mr. Stewart, can I have your autograph?" Later they both worked with Baldry at the same time.

  • In the early seventies Elton and Rod both produced on two John Baldry albums, each producing one side of each record. In the Bluesology days Reg and Rod took on feminine nicknames that were especially solidified during the Baldry recording sessions. They have continued to use the names throughout the years.

  • Elton is "Sharon Cavendish", from the "Sheffield Cavendish Club", where Bluesology played, and Rod is "Phyllis", because of a joint gig they did at the Eel Pie Island Club where the marquee announced the appearance of "Ada Baldry and the Hoochie Coochie Ladies, featuring Phyllis Stewart". Elton's manager, John Reid, was called "Beryl" during those sessions, for the actress Beryl Reid, and Elton continued to call him that for many years.

  • On April Fool’s Day 1991, Elton surprised Rod on stage at Wembley, wearing a dress and wig, dressed as Rod's wife Rachel Hunter. He kissed him and sat on his leg as Rod sang "You’re in My Heart". Two months later, Rod presented Elton with a music box inscribed, "To my dear Sharon, my left leg has never been the same. Love, Phyllis". They were both inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.
