Just like butterfly collectors, these insects are found dead. Their life cycles are very short, so finding their bodies is not very difficult. :)

The insects are from Malaysia, South America and Africa. At no time does the artist "kill" the insects. Neither does she harvest them to satisfy "western indulgence." If you know where to look, large tropical insects, like uniformed, unimaginative critics, are plentiful. Cheers.
