For more fun, you might pick up some 12mm gauge track and put new trucks on all your slower trains to replicate the 3'6" gauge mainlines. That can get expensive for the powered trucks.

I rode the E4 Max-Yamabiko from Sendai to Tokyo. I wish I had the money for a second trip.

Definitely not reality. Shinkansen trains run on separate tracks from other trains. Mostly they run roughly parallel to the old mainlines, so you'll have a standard gauge supertrain running on an elevated track near a narrow gauge freight and commuter line.

The freight cars would go an a separate track with the Super Odoriko. It wouldn't exactly follow the Shinkansen line, but would detour more around obstacles, with more curves and tighter radiuses.

@Hikikomori013 - Thanks for the update. I agree about freight not mixing with Bullets and am rebuilding to make correct, this was a first attempt. I have too many shinkensans as a result and so will be selling my Kato N700 shortly.

Looking good Dad, Train sets sure have improved.  I cant remember mine being that good. Probably for the best though, I would of broken it somehow!!
