  • so much passion and power, he's galactic

  • fuck, he's a genius

  • Esse video é uns do mais bonitos que ja ouvi do max, ele é simplesmente sensacional em tocar esse violino, essa melodia é sem comentários

  • never heard anyone play the lyrical parts of the tarantelle more beautifully

  • Sounds not even close to Heifetz... Not saying it's bad, but when comparing to Heifetz there's a hole lot of things being played differently...

  • Haha his head and neck move just as his fingers and bow lol. Excellent job buddy. :]

  • sounds very like heifetz

  • @untonsured Naah

  • @julioreyram good for you

  • best violonist of our day.......

  • WTF????? 12 DISLIKES!!!????

12 guys who don't know what is passionate on music ;)

  • Wow! He's awesome (and handsome too!) My mom actually thought his movements were in fast-motion!

  • Please give me an answer if you're of of them, why 12 people actually don't like this interpretation?

  • honestly, i think vengrov is very musical(obviously); although his technique is definitely not as good as heifetz i sort of prefer vengrov's with his errors and all

  • I've never heard the singing, middle parts played more beautifully. Bravo!

  • really I can't understand how a MAN can play the violin like that clearly and beautifully with THAT speed ... ;;

  • WEll Done!! =)

  • LOVE his spiccatos!!!!!!!!

  • he's just cool! fun to watch!

  • This is almost Heifetz standards!

  • at 3.28 is very genius very extraordinary wonderful!!!

  • ..is...unbelivable

  • this guy should take some 'ludes. i'd love to see him get stoned and play this piece...something to chill him out. methinks he wants to beat the hell out of the little wooden noisemaker, not love it. i like him overall. i think menuhin owns this piece, though. there's a recording of him when he was 16 playing this...absolutely perfect

  • Music is so diverse. Be it classical or any other genre, there really is no boundary as to how one can interpret it. That's why there are so many interpretations of a piece of music. There's no right or wrong interpretation - it's just that the listener favors one interpretation from the other :D

  • Now this is what i call making an "expression" everytime you make GOOD music.GOOD expression and feeling each notes you play= EPIC WIN. XD.

  • oh my lord I love this piece I wanna play it so badly :/ but it's soo fast!

  • @XvrenimonstaX same here i should have started learning this 4 years ago O.O'''

  • @dillpickle899912 just joined the club guys thumbs up me too !!

  • Incredibly full of energy!!!

  • Maxim, simplemente eres lo maximo, tu sonido, interpretación es hermoso, eres mi violinista favorito desde que te vi y escuche nunca has dejado de encartarme, Gracias por existir

  • haha ive got this and heifetz playing synchronised its an orchestra!

  • It was perfact I LOVE VENGEROV

  • maxim=maximo

  • this is my favourite interpretation I LOVE MAXIM¡¡¡

  • Really the frst one!!! The touch, the virtuoso song...The best ever

  • Absolutely phenomenal performance. Full of soul, passion, energy and unmatched virtuosity.

    Sencillamente genial, insuperable...brillante!!!

  • @qujohn88 Are u good as him??

  • I love this video, but my humble opinion is that Heifetz' version is better. Vengerov is still somewhat young, and the version I listened to was when Heifetz was fairly old. Heifetz' playing is like a tornado, as Perlman would say, but Vengerov's is a storm brewing, growing ever larger. Also, I like Vengerov's way of communicating through facial expressions but I like Heifetz' way of cold aptitude better. However, I consider Vengerov one of the best alive violinists in the world.

  • I hate his "facial expressions" (retarded grimaces). They don't add to the music but are fucking annoying.

  • I like his facial expressions actually. Before, when I called Heifetz' of "cold aptitude," I was listening with my eyes and closing my ears. Now I close my eyes and listen with my ears and I see that Venegerov is amazing but none will beat Heifetz.

If you don't like Vengerov's facial expressions close your eyes and listen with your ears.

  • It's only my opinion but I like him better than Heifetz. I deeply respect Heifetz but for me Vengerov makes everything much more intriguing and entertaining!

  • @annpham Exactly my feeling too ... Heifetz sounds much more dry and less musical

  • finally someone feels the same thing I do :-)

I actually have seen several contemporary performers, who in my opinion, topped Heifetz such as Vengerov and Markov (his Paganini beats Haifetz's or anyone's)

  • @violinoamore You're entitled to your opinion, of course, but keep in mind that just about all the old masters sound dry because of the poor recording technology of the time. :)

  • @annpham me too... and actuallly he is respected most by many students in violin field I know...

  • @yurietyler but for some reason vengerov doesnt seem to be one of the top picks amongst violin teachers for some reason. like when i was working on lalo i told my teacher how i thought vengerov's interpretation was god-like and she basically wanted me to look in another direction.

  • @carloslaran

I think it's because his style is VERY risky and chances are, any attempts to emulate him by someone without a solid foundation may come off sounding REALLY bad because his style needs to be on-the-extreme-edge-without-falling-off.

  • this is the guy...no one can ever be close to playing like he can.

  • heifetz, milstein, oistrakh, menuhin, perlman... do you want me to go on?

lol jk, he is pretty amazing.

  • only one close is heifetz...i honestly dont think any of them are as passionate...i do admit he is sometimes too rough and a little sloppy, but only when he wants to be. lol

  • no place for comments...the Great Vengerov :)

  • Such a passion, beauty and total involvement ... Only such playing makes sense ... not like those endless dry programmed machines/violinists that are so often around

  • for me,for this piece, vengerovis better than heifetz.i'm not joking.Maybe heifetz can play it more in tune and faster, but in this piece I like vengerov very very much

    the interpretation!!!

  • none cares about your taste..the new violin stars just don't know how to play those pieces.all the objective qualities are pretty good but they all lack taste.

  • remusrimbu, how more in tune would u like to listen from vengerov?

  • I have no word's I can only listen. Very good.

  • me too!!

    too perfect to say

just like words cannot describe the beauty of the scene.

  • I suggest you listen my playing. I'm not good player but I can play not bad

  • he is best of the best......super. maestro

  • thanks for posting

  • o-0 Q MAESTRO

  • exellente

    magnifique

  • Great Vengerov. all that needs to be said

  • Somebody knows who is the pianist???

  • dear Arsen-the pianist is ian Brown

  • maximmm:D

    my oncle lol:]

    all clean ha?

  • i like his facial expressions and body movements lol. lots of emotion!

  • very great!

    It's a pleasure to listen!

  • I really can't understand who is that who doesn't give 5 stars for performances like this... (Please take your ego bit to the background...)

  • it's not just his amazing technique, man makes music, everything has meaning

  • I like his playing and his face.

  • I don't think he is the next Heifetz. Sure he has great technique but Heifetz is Heifetz. There can be no next. It would be extremely difficult to tell Vengerov apart from other violinist.

People can tell Heifetz apart from other violinists in one second.

Also I think he was having shoulder trouble :(
