  • you cannot consent for me to be governed...only i can consent to be governed...democracy is the tyranny of the majority

  • So my choice is to be in a system where I have no control over what selfish morons do.... OR be in 2 systems where I have no control over what selfish morons do.

The flaw in this is the idea that just because a person is not in government they must have my interests in mind.

  • the system we have is not even close to the ancient greek democracy. u get to vote 1 day every 4 years and most of the action of the goverment are against me and my rights. oh and in the same time they get filthy rich and bribe ppl to have them on their side. we need a change we need the mass of ppl to know their rights and what they want so they can take desicions about their land . i was born free and they say i owe the banks money !!!!!

  • Democracy is mob rule. Opressing the minorities and having the uneducated masses destroy everything. Issues get polarized and it becomes a state of eternal civil war.

You can not solve problems by using violence on innocent people. The penalties for all laws are up to and including death. You don't have the right to murder innocent people, so why should you get the right to "vote" someone to do it for you?

  • @Houshalter Tell that to China. :/

  • The founding fathers made it a republic and a democracy is run by the mob so they can tell 40% what to do and there is no freedom in that

  • @Breakthefirstwall

this is direct democracy, its about cooperative democracy,

your right first past the post is snafu.

    Authoritarianism& rule is fubar!

  • WE HAVE A REPUBLIC!!!

  • Representative democracy is an illusion of freedom... Very good initiative, wish there`d be similar in my country. Greetings from Poland.

P,.S. As for law making, isn`t there a 'common law' in America?

  • This is stupid. I want to keep my republic.

  • someone tried to say that the government is fair to everyone when it obviously isnt

  • Democracy is brought on wings of fire !!!!! XD Democracy representatives = tanks ,bombs , marines XDDD

  • The constitution was founded on stopping democracy. The system is a sham.

    all power to the people.

  • Democracy is two wolfes and one lamb that argue about what to have for dinner.

  • I'm BUILDING a democrazy. Alxgraham.

  • Democracy in Greek is Demo Cracia which translated into English:

    Demo = Demon

    Cracia = Possession

or DEMON POSSESSION... look it up!!

  • Hahahah, I hope this is a troll.

    Anyway it comes from

    Demos = the people

    Kratos = rule

    or Rule by the People

  • I hope it's not a troll. And I hope you're right.

  • thats crazy

  • that's crazy

  • we put president and the congress to do the job we want them to do. My question is, how many times people have to go to the polling booth? Every weekend stand in lines to cast their votes? NO, I don't think so that's why a government is for med. The country will put majority of their time in voting rather than seeking their ambitions and goals. Everyone has a specific job and we the people have given the congress the right to make laws because it was in our best interest.

  • Recall your last sentence. "Everyone has a specific job and we the people have given the congress the right to make laws because it was in our best interest."

Now, was it for our best interest ? No big government less big problems.

  • I don't why people always think government is a big problem. Don't we need police protection. Don't we need emergency service. If we are in trouble the first thing we do is call 911. I'm not saying that government should takeover all the aspects of our live but government action is necessary whenever something jeopardize a nation's health or wealth.

  • Thanks for understanding the need of the government. I am not against to have government. I am against the government to be big. What I am saying is no big government. By that means government should not have 100% control of all the resources. They suppose to have less direct control of resource(say 10%). Once they need more resource than they need to come to the public for that more need of the resource and public need to decide whether they go further for that increase or not.

  • A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine. We are a Republic.

  • Why if you are talking democraditcs you forgot Canada?

we in Canada Marley and Music state the cause..

    UM25 million votes?

  • The supreme court has ruled that the 50 states are countries with respect to each other but under the 14th amendment system you are participating in rebellion against your de jure country when you vote, through contract as well and that is why you have to pay IRS and so forth.. and are responsible for the national debt. watch all 6 vids for more info please watch watch?v=G1B33IvnJ4M&feature=ch annel_page

  • So, does this imply we shit-can the constitution and start trying to control each others lives with democracy.

How about this - Enforce the constitution by jailing those who violate it, instead of electing them to office.

Oh yea, The United States of America is a Republic. So, babbarr2008, care to mossy yer french ass over here and "bitch slap" some armed American citizens?

  • It's like being an Admin on Flickr

  • The NID is a way to control the government to work to our best interist. If you want to limit or expand government power that is our choice.

  • Fuck, I don't even know where to look to find any kind of meaningful "system" that knows how to make best use of this gift of life.

Well, thats my feelings just now. Forgive me for getting my hopes up.

  • No offence to your fine film sir. but is this the opposition to a "tough situation"? youtube website personal reportings? Fuck, the world seems to have gotten bland.

I am a very dissapointed person, in that the democracy doesn't "do it for me" i.e. it aint going quite right.

  • The Democracy is the 13 states that ratified the Constitution giving the Consitution power. It is true that we are a republic but the republic could and would never exist without a Democracy.

  • There never has been a democracy in the United States. It is a facade.

Neither is there a party line divide. Both main parties are on in the same, both corrupt and ran by a small group of elitist who run the world.

  • Free bitch slap 2 anyone who says, "We are not a democracy. We are a republic!"

I've got plenty to satisfy the endless demand, so grab a ticket and step in line.

Don't like corporate bailouts? Then fight to have a say or capitalism in America is forever dead.

Wanna make insipid arguments over terminology while proudly waving a flag as an empire crumbles? Well good job! You all succeed admirably! You are such excellent patriots! The founding fathers would be so proud!

  • i hope the empire[building] policies do crumble. that is what got us into this mess and not arguing even simple terminology. is how our rights and values of this country are being twisted and misused. if we want to repair this country we have to truly understand what we are and stand for first.

  • Someone please enlighten me. When has the united states ever in it's history been a democracy? More importantly who said we were a democracy in the first place? One thing i do know as a fact is America was founded as a republic not a democracy according to the founding father. So i beg someone to please explain to me when and how we became a democracy all the sudden.

  • PLZ don't base your views on a dumbass video by the John Birch Society (if that's what you're doing). It is completely meaningless for the most part to talk about "republic" and "democracy" as mutually exclusive terms. (Who said we are a "democracy" BTW?! haha)

Want smaller government? Study Swiss government. They are a constitutional republic that uses direct democracy to make it possible. Participation in power by citizens to prevent corruption by concentrated power. How novel!

  • its so funny people think we live in a democracy in the USA. Well really i guess its sad, not for the people who think it but the people who figured no one would wake up to it after they were taught we were on in high school... Polyarchy For The Loss.

    WTB REAL USA Democracy.

  • I bet these people also think that the 17th Amendment was a good idea, too.

  • 1) The Supreme Court was never meant to have the authority to interpret the Constitution for the entire nation. It's jurisdiction was intended to be strictly Federal. If only people knew what the original intent was...

    2) "Checks & Balances" is a myth. Just because we learned about it in school does not make it true.

  • Why is it that a bunch of pictures of Presidents are flashed across the screen when the narrator is talking about "making laws"?

I think this video is trying to feed the misconception that Presidents make laws.

  • They pass Presidential Directives.

  • Good point, mistaspot1.

Presidential Directives. If only people understood that these are not laws, they would cease to be treated as such.

  • The US is a republic.

  • But should it be? We're really suffering. And the world is, too.

  • Do you know the difference? Go watch shanedk's video about this. The US is written to be a republic, and definitely should be one. Unfortunately our schools, politicians, and the general population has forgotten this.

The difference is that a democracy is mob rule, whereas a republic protects minorities from the majority with the help of a constitution. I despise appeals to democracy.

  • Yes, I know the difference. You shouldn't assume people don't know the difference. It's really a simple concept. We live in a democratic representative republic, so it is a democracy and a republic.

Calm down. The national initiative doesn't do anything to hurt minority rights. They're protected by the Supreme Court, whose members have lifetime appointments. There's no risk. What we're debating is a democratic representative republic vs a directly democratic representative republic. That's all

  • If you think the supreme court does their job even half the time you're wildly delusional.

The supreme court is appointed the president and elected by congress. And the people they tend to appoint as justices are even more careless tyrants than the people writing the laws.

  • The DEA, the BATF, the DOA, the DOE, FAFSA, FEMA, the DOL, the FDA, most of the FCC, and many more bureaucracies are unconstitutional. Not to mention innumerable unconstitutional laws have been written, passed, signed, enforced, even challenged and presented to the supreme court who refuses to interpret the constitution the only sensible way it can be interpreted, literally.

  • Well, then I guess there needs to be a constitutional amendment to allow for them, huh? It doesn't sound like you know the difference between a constitutional amendment and a statute. You know the legislative branch exists for the purpose of passing statutes right? Is that whole branch of government unconstitutional? LOL

    You guys crack me up.

  • Congress has the power to regulate interstate commerce, coin money, and build an army. That's about it. Beyond that, yes, everything they do IS unconstitutional. This is stated VERY clearly in the tenth amendment.

It's really too bad our socialist school systems have not just failed to teach you this, but have taught you the opposite.

  • The united states is NOT a democracy nor should it be, nor has it ever been. It is a republic. Once upon a time this was common knowledge.

  • But it's unsustainable. We're headed for all-out destruction. We're slaves.

  • Unsustainable? ALL governments are unsustainable. Even a republic if our people are so passive as to sit idly. Pick up a gun and try to change some things, if I didn't fear prison or worse I'd start by putting a bullet into every prosecutor involved in the charlie lynch trial.

  • I think there can be sustainable systems. You can call them whatever you want. I'm sort of a hardcore pacifist so I think if you're picking up guns you're not solving the problem, you *are* the problem.

I'd like to change the laws though, with petitions and initiatives. I'm a libertarian socialist.

  • Do you have evidence of one? Democracy surely is not a sustainable system, nor would I want it to be considering how evil mob rule would be.

Hitler, Mao, and many other dictators were democratically elected.

And are you saying that our founding fathers didn't solve problems? They actually were willing to break the law and kill people even over much lesser infringements on their rights than what the current government is doing.

  • I said "can be" so no, I don't.

You name despots that were democratically elected like that's relevant or something. There are thousands of elected leaders who weren't despots? What's your fucking point? What a stupid argument to make.

Hitler and Mao and many other dictators wore pants. Does that mean pants are bad?

  • My point is that democracy is NOT better than a republic. Democracy can and does produce tyranny.

  • OK, but it's a moot point because we'll still have a Constitution, thus remaining a republic.

  • Yes, because our constitution does sprout arms and legs and kicks the ass of any politician who ignores it.

It's not a moot point, it's absolutely relevant. We MUST remember that the constitution is only as powerful as the people willing to raise guns in defense of it. And we must remember that the purpose of the constitution was NOT to grant power* to the people, but to prevent power* from being attained by ANYONE.

*the power of force/coercion, the power all governments wield

  • You're not a libertarian socialist. the two views are incompatible. There are libertarians, there are socialists, and then there are socialist assholes like you who, in the process of attempting to hide the evils of your ideology veil the name libertarian without understanding either socialism or libertarianism.

You're about as libertarian as china is a republic.

  • I'm afraid you're a little kid who doesn't really know anything. The only place 'libertarian' means 'capitalist' is America. So, yes, I *am* a libertarian socialist. Are civil libertarians capitalists in your mind, too? Gimme a break...

I don't give a fuck about your ignorant conception of socialism. You're obviously a dickhead who's beyond reason anyway. You know, people *do* voluntarily associate themselves in socialist systems, right?

  • Unless your form of socialism doesn't involve the government taxing people or putting restrictions on how people can conduct legitimate businesses, in which case socialism is a very pour choice of word, you are by definition NOT a libertarian.

  • There is a flaw in this video, the US is not a democracy, it´s a constitutional REPUBLIC. There´s a difference.

Look for the video "political spectrum" to see what I mean.

  • OK. What is Switzerland? It's a republic with a constitution modelled after ours. What is the difference between their initiative procedures and the ones we have in 24 states? How do we elect the president of the United States? Is majoritarian rule only legitimate when representative government has the power to corrupt the electoral process so they can cover their collective asses? You are regurgitating terms from hearsay in the form of a quasi-argument that is practically meaningless.

  • At first I was very skeptic about this whole NI4D idea, but after seeing this video, it puts my fears of it overriding the judicial to rest. If its the way the video describes I'm all for it, the technology exist to fix the coagulated congress.

  • Excellent. Spread the word, then. We need our government back.

  • take a look on the democracy... where is the democracy?

  • DUH, everyone knows that democracy is "MOB RULE"! Restore teh Republic! Ron Paul is teh only answer!!!11!!!111!!11 We needs a politician to give us wut we needs cuz we iz 2 ignt to no!!!11!!!111

We shouldn't even vote. Let's appoint Ron Paul as emperor for life through some incredible populist movement and force scientists to build cloning devices so we can have Ron Pauls for all eternity.

  • hehehe... fuckin' Paultards.

    gotta luv 'em

  • fuckin paultards? what do you have against ron paul?

  • blah blah whine whine whine.

Nothing against Paultards, except the fact that many in the "movement" have the maturity of 12 year old on a steady diet of internet porn and Red Bull.

Ron Paul is great. I mean that. A lot of his supporters? Fuckin' retarded.

    Make sense? If not, tough.

  • first of all, i wasnt whining i was asking a question. i would consider them, very enthusiastic but if you want to look at it like that go ahead.

  • This is retarded. The United States is a Constitutional Republic. (not anymore) It was NEVER a democracy. The founding fathers HATED democracy. It is not mentioned ONCE, in the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution. Furthermore; if this was to go down: who is going to supply the public with information - LOL, the mainstream media; good luck with that one. You know objectivity, the facts, the truth... ;)

  • Yeah, everyone knows that submission to authority is the only way to institute media reform.

  • The country would definitely see an improvement if the same people who think Obama is a Muslim and feel that a post-Katrina government can efficiently run a socialist nation were direct legislatures. I'll take my corporate funded puppets over the ignorant masses thank you.

  • this is exactly what this country needs

  • here's one for you.

Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner.

  • mob wool! mob wool! baaahhhhh!

What's hilarious is when these same people cite Switzerland as an example of Libertarianism in action on the issues. They want liberty served on a silver platter without the work. Don't hold your breath. Actually go ahead: have a tantrum, pass out and further enable the injustices. It's your civic duty.

  • ummmmm what? cant really understand what you just said there.

  • And liberty is a well armed sheep.

  • It's still on, search for it and you will find it...

  • The National Initiative is a REAL movement.

  • First off, you're wrong from the start. We live in a constitutional Republic not a "Mob rule" democracy. Second off,, the sheople of America I would not trust to vote on laws, they are way too susceptible to propaganda. In fact, this film is propaganda. 1 star for you!

  • If you watch the video, it says that the Supreme Court would still ensure that laws were ok.

So your system of thinking is flawed, sorry. Try listening harder next time, k?

  • But you trust represenitives who are elected with campaign funds from speacial interests? I can think of TWO congressmen I like. And no senators.

  • I'm british but even I can understand the american presidential/law system and see it needs a few changes...If I was american I'd vote yes for ni4d :)

  • Wisconsin is missing from the map of states that allow iniatives. In fact Wisconsin was the first state to have initiative and referendum under LaFollette leadership.

  • it would be a great thing to take power away from the pres and give it to the people.

here in switzerland, the people go vote about changes in the constitution and the law all the time.

  • If you actually read the act and the amendment you will find that its power reaches over the other branches of government. It creates a board of trustees that chooses laws we vote on. Depending on how we vote, we could create a better America that is for the people, or we could complete destroy equality and democracy in America. It all depends on how 51% of us votes. It would be easier just to make a third branch of congress that is based off of initiative style voting.

  • DOWN WITH DEMOCRACY!!!

  • I wish the people, and not the corporations, had power here!!!

  • I'm a little torn on this subject. Obviously the end result would be for the best, but I can't imagine how fast we would vote ourselves into a welfare state.

  • It's about time we took back power from those abusing it--our elected officials--who are bought and paid for. Maybe then we'll actually have decent presidential candidates to choose from who actually deal with the real issues.

  • We need proportional representation where each party get representation based on the percentage of votes it receives. Like in Europe.

  • Democracy cannot exist permanently. The majority of citizens will always vote for candidates that promise the most benefits. Democracies always end in dictatorship. (Hitler promised to fix the economy. He got 98% of the vote*).

    *Source: comeandtakeit[.]com[/]unclassd[.]html

  • But he (Adolf) also had a constitution that was ways too easy to overtrow.

I have a lower middle class background and I live in a contry where Initiative and Referendum is the key element of politics (Almost any decicion of gouverment or parlyment can be overtrown at the ballot box)

and from my personal experiance I can not agree on any of the points you lined out.

And it worked for us long before Hitler of Stalin where born

  • i submitted this to digg

mike gravel mass donation day april 22

  • as always, your videos are outsatndig, keep it up!

  • gravel2008 dot us slash donate underscore now

  • Give people a choice of freedom and true democracy, and what do they argue about?

    The terminology!

    This is truly ironic.

I love the video by the way.

  • mass donation week for mike gravel starts today. check out my new video for all the info you need about it

  • I think it was Thomas Jefferson who once said "democracy is mob rule, were 51% of the people may take 49% of the peoples rights away" i prefer democracy, but that is a pretty good way of looking at it.

  • Democracy is an absolute myth.

  • Democracy cannot exist permanently. The majority of citizens will always vote for candidates that promise the most benefits. Democracies always end in dictatorship. (Hitler promised to fix the economy. He got 98% of the vote).

  • Democracy is chaos.

  • A Democracy gave power to the Consitution, its the minority that is dismantaling it. Its time the Democracy came around again, enacted the NI4D to set straight the minority who wishes to silence the majority.

  • I agree with strumr91 I don't like the Idea of some MTV, Paris Hilton watching air head voting on laws. Representative Govt would work if people cared and and lit a fire under the asses of our representatives do do the right thing. This system is for a democracy and people forget this is NOT A DEMOCRACY it is a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC! The founders hated democracy, democracy is mob rule where 51% of the people can take away the rights of other 49%.

  • i think its a great idea, but I'm not even sure if the people are smart enough. I know I sound like a jerk saying it, but there are just so many STUPID PEOPLE. Maybe before we do this we should have an educational reform so that the people are trained to think critically, rather than just spitting back the information they're given. Unfortunately, that concept isn't really in the government's interest, is it?

  • u kno wat?! if we enact this amendment then you could pass a law making education #1 priority. we could make government classes required for 2 years in high school. i live in Oregon here we have ballot measure! majority rules that is :) i love the system, we passed a law to allow people with severe disabilitys or ailments to be able to legally commit suicide. in the most humane way possible that is.

  • Instant run off voting.

  • i wish i could participate but they won't count my damn vote, i try to no avail.

  • Gravel is an amazing man. He has accomplished a great deal on our behalf in the past and this initiative shows that he is still on the side of the citizens. The current "front runners" are definitely not going to act in our best interests. Obama claims change but has named no specifics in what or how things will change. He claims to not be taking lobbyist money, but that's a lie. Clinton is even worse. She and Bill are so paid for it's not even funny. And McCain? Well, let's just not go there.

  • ALL of the current presidential "frontrunners" ARE CORRUPT!!! Just go to the top of THIS page, then type in "gravel clinton obama", then click on each of the first 2 videos listed on THAT page!!! MIKE GRAVEL...OUR ONLY HOPE!!!

  • WHY DOESN'T this video specify that MIKE GRAVEL (THE ONLY NON-CORRUPT CANDIDATE STILL RUNNING) is the person WHO DRAFTED THE "NATIONAL INITIATIVE"?!?!?!?!?!

  • Igspal, I'm a senior staffer on the Gravel campaign. We didn't want to politicize the issue by mentioning Senator Gravel.

  • very good sir very good!

  • People like yourself have tried to argue it many times before in the comments below. Scan a little.

  • this is supposed to be a democratic republic, not a corporatist empire. tyranny of the masses (pure democracy) might not be any better since our population has been severely dumbed down. look at who we vote for anyways (reagan/bush, bush, clinton, clinton, bush, bush, clinton, probably clinton again in 2012), no disrespect to reagan, he didn't want to run with bush. but, what the hell, count me in!

  • The National Initiative

Nobody has answered the "27 Problems With The National Initiative" video from a supporter who taked issue with the wording of the law.

The idea of a National ballot Initiative is a good idea, and these questions need to be addressed.

  • 'You Decide.'

    HAHA, YES!

  • Learn about Mike Gravel by watching the short series "Tribute to Mike Gravel: The Modern Day Thomas Paine". /watch?v=arS8nFguDsU

Produced by overmind25, who is a very informed young person.

The series informs you what Gravel stands for and what he intends to do. There's not a lot of deception or talking around subjects. Gravel says what he believes is important for the country. Listen to the content.

  • ^Witness the sheepdom of the ronpaulers.

  • What a silly example!

Just what are you afraid the majority might do - specifically.

Are you happy with what the Few are doing now?

Yeah, we see those judges doing so much for people don't we?

  • Um... in the US, we have a representative REPUBLIC.

  • That's redundant. Look up Republic in the dictionary. To call it a representative republic is redundant.

  • You're right. My point is that the US is not a Democracy.

  • Exactly. Not yet, and even with NI4D, it doesn't become one. It makes Republicanism way more democratic, though.

  • ...and how is that working for us?

  • Frankly, this sounds much, MUCH more Constitutional than Ron Paul's "free markets" for corporationscrap. "Libertarianism" is BS, and not of , by and for WE THE PEOPLE.

  • Ron Paul's theory is for the corporation.

  • gravel2008 Why does he have so many RonBots fooled then?

They behave like current or former Amway Distributors.

I guess he is selling snakeoil, and the facts don't matter.

  • Because people love their propaganda, and idiots are easily swayed by a few soundbytes. Ron Paul talks about a Revolution, but he's as much politics as usual as the next guy.

  • gravel2008 Oh, Ron Paul is far more clever than the next guy with that "down-home" act of his.

  • hey, what are going to do, we're from pittsburgh, but boy did RP ever blow it,

when he told that google company group,

the government was responsible for all

the pollution we used to have there, not

    the steel mills! LMAO

you really gotta watch a politician.

  • Interesting! I was pregnant near a paper mill in St Mary's GA , near Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base in 1980 and my son was born with Asperger's Syndrome. The paper mill was one of the worst polluters in the state of GA , and both St Mary's and Kings Bay were later declared Superfund Sites by the govt. Would Ron Paul side with the people or the polluters? You decide!

  • Clarification : The paper mill was one of the worst MERCURY polluters in the state of GA...

  • Ummm...lemmm guess...freedom for the polluters...no regulation...am I right?

  • My son also has Asperger's syndrome because his vaccinations had too much mercury in then.pharmacutical industry has alot of clout in Washington. Mercury is a good preservative, it's in womens makeup too.

  • In that same interview he claims that no one ever starved under 19th century capitalism.

  • The Government allowed the steel mills to polute, the steel mills, payed the slap on the wrist fines but the people's individual and property rights were not protected.

  • Gravel is cool , btw, tells it like it is!

  • He is promising them no taxes.

He is telling them they will not have to pay to care for the poor or elderly.

He is telling them he will give their $ value. (without telling them what happens when you contract the money at once)

Why do so many who want "Change" follow Obama?

  • So in conclusion, if you want to be a delusional fool, go for NI4D

Let the majority dictate things and let the minority lose

  • We're having a conversation. Don't interrupt it with mindless spam.

Now then, go read NI4D before making any more idiotic comments.

  • Obviously you have not even READ the Declaration of Independence. It is a mere simple letter to King George III stating that they are no longer going to abide by the Monoarchy and that they do not recognize its authority. There is nothing mentioned at all about how government should be set up. There was no national government yet to set up. The War wasn`t even near finished.

  • "Democracy is the most vile form of government... democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention: have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property: and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths" - James Madison, the FATHER of the constitution

  • "The people...are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty." James Madison

  • Right...now for the LAST FUCKIN TIME that quote has NOTHING TO DO WITH A DIRECT DEMOCRACY

My quote has to do EXCLUSIVELY with a direct democracy

    Try again fool

  • The founders worked with concepts, it is closed minded and stupid to attach quotes to specific arguments. You attach concepts to specific arguments, and quotes to concepts.

  • No I don't, go look it up idiot, in fact go talk to your American history professor about this and see what they say

  • Yes, I have. In fact, I've had this conversation with the professor under whom I earned my degree. He agrees that Direct Democracy is now the responsible solution.

I've done my learning in history, what are your credentials?

  • Well I'm not a History major, but the Declaration of Independence does reflect America in itself

Also the Supreme Court ruled that racism was unconstitutional

  • Thank you for the superfluous point.

The Declaration of Independence is rhetoric, it's goal was not to set forward 'American' ideals, because there WAS NO AMERICA.

It's an order of dissent and grievance to the king. Not the founding document of our government.

  • Racism is PROTECTED under the 1st AMMENDMENT. Freedom of Speech. Look up the SKOKIE NAZI MARCH on google for one.

  • No it isn't you dumbass

Freedom of Speech is protected under the 1st amendment, it protects all speech including racism

However, the "seperate but equal" and whites can only marry whites thing was deemed unconstitutional by the Supreme Court

  • Yes, that's all well and good, but let's not go off-topic.

You're no longer proving any decent points, you're just rambling.

  • Sure it is

My basic point is a direct democracy is disgusting because the majority wins, the minority loses

What use is a NI4D? It has none

  • Yes, it repairs the holes left in Republicanisim in this modern day and age.

It does not replace the republic of the framers, it repairs it. It's become corrupt, and NI4D checks the corruption.

  • "Also the Supreme Court ruled that racism was unconstitutional"

    lol

    To quote Thomas Jefferson:

"A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine"

  • Here's another Jefferson quote for you, because it's obvious that you've started to spam:

"Unless the mass retains sufficient control over those entrusted with the powers of their government, these will be perverted to their own oppression, and to the perpetuation of wealth and power in the individuals and their families selected for the trust."
