  • Seeing Tokyo Police Club perfom live (I've seen them thrice, inc. December 8th at the phoenix) emphasizes just how important band chemistry is to putting on a great show. You can just feel the love that those four guys have for each other (esp. Dave and Graham), being friends for so long.

Born Ruffians however, felt really stiff to me...as though they didn't want to be there. Ben in particular was so standoffish, didn't smile or make eye contact w/ the crowd. THE CHRISTMAS SWEATER WAS A LIE

  • @AsL0tusFlowers I totally agree. You can tell that TPC is having a blast with each other, as well as the crowd while they are on stage. It's great. I know what you're saying with Born Ruffians too, though I'm not sure who you mean by Ben. That being said, I didn't see much of the Born Ruffians set because I was with Ben from STW who is a total sweetheart. I love STW live. I think they are great, though not as good as TPC.. but I think STW isn't used to big crowds yet.

  • i saw dried lizards before

  • @kingpolaris Did you eat them? I don't think I could... I think lizards are too awesome to eat.

  • @WhyHelloShelby absolutely not.

  • when i read the title i was all excited, cuz i thought that you'd drank some radioactive water and grew duck feet and i wanted to larff at your feet, im sad now :(, but thats awesome that the guy remembered you and stuff :D pluss he has an epic beard :P

much love for the video shelby :D

  • @zazoogah I have talked to you about this already, but you're a jerk XD

  • @WhyHelloShelby :O thats such a mean thing to say :( you canada people and your ...... words of hurtful meanings yeah you heard me :P

  • I should be studying for finals but after looking up Tokyo police club, born ruffians, and said the whale I now have to download all of their music. Can't believe I haven't heard of them till now -.- lol

  • @nicktest101 Aren't they amazing?! Bah! I love them all. And the Arkells, they are good too. Rural Alberta Advantage are also wonderful. The Weakerthans are pretty great as well.. and all Canadian! WHOOP! hahah

  • All good bandsss! I'm jealous. :P I wish there were more shows that happened in my town! My town is so boring. Or even near my town. Vancouver is like 5 hours away, xDD Also, duck feet, ew, sounds really gross and looked really gross. You are brave xDDD

  • @TheDreadedKattie SO MANY THINGS HAPPEN IN VANCOUVER! Said the Whale is doing a show of their songs and videos from their new album and I want to see it so bad. At least you have more of a chance to see things in Vancouver XD and yeah, I didn't see the duck feet when I ordered them, or I probably wouldn't have. By the time I saw them, I had paid for them so I figured I might as well try them. hahaha

  • GGGAHH.. sounds like a great show.

I have seen Said the whale twice and Born Ruffians once, both great live shows.

Have never seen Tokyo Police Club...

  • @schroter5 That's awesome! Tokyo Police Club is absolutely amazing live. I'm not just saying that because they are my favourite band. They are just one of those bands that have great chemistry on stage. Totally worth seeing!

  • @WhyHelloShelby They never come to Edmonton though. But I'm making a road trip down to Toronto/Montreal this summer so I will hopefully finally get to see them then. haha

  • @schroter5 They are playing on June 20th with Foster the People. I really hope I can squeeze in going to that show! haha. I'm roadtripping out west around June time. High five for summer road trips!

  • @WhyHelloShelby Oh nice I think thats close to when we are going actually haha. I'm not a massive fan of Foster the people but thats cool. You live in Toronto right?

That's awesome! where are you going? haha yeeee buddy. How many people are you going with?

  • @schroter5 I'm near Toronto. I wanted to move there, but couldn't find a flatmate.

But I'm going across the country with my one friend and meeting up with two more in Victoria, BC before heading home. That's basically the trip. Drive out to Victoria.. hang out in BC, come home. Stops along the way and such though. Definitely a trip more about the journey than the destination. XD

  • @WhyHelloShelby Toronto looks like it would be great to live in, pretty beautiful city with a good music scene haha.

The road trips without set destinations are usually the best ones, sounds like a pretty stellar trip. So I might not be able to do my trip out east. My friend and I both got accepted into schools in vancouver so we are moving there in september/august.

  • @schroter5 If I don't make it out east some friends and I will for sure go to our lake/cabin thing in BC in which case you should make a stop and we can take you guys cliff diving and wake boarding, if you want that is haha.

  • @schroter5 Vancouver! That's amazing! I'm so excited to see Vancouver when I go this summer. I'm pumped to see any part of BC haha. I have never gone wakeboarding or cliff diving. So that would be amazing!

  • @WhyHelloShelby I blame my excessive use of exclamation points and lack of variety of words on my level of excitement, which is quite high.

  • @WhyHelloShelby Hahaha that's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! You should add me on fb or Skype broo

  • @schroter5 Message me some details and I totally will :D

  • @WhyHelloShelby Yeaa I love Van. You said you were heading to victoria, do you know where abouts?

You have never been wake boarding!?! Thats hard to believe.. haha

The lake I go to is the warmest freshwater lake in western Canada. So we can spend as much time needed for you to actually get up on the board haha.

Last time I was there I jumped off an 85' cliff:)

  • Okay, so you're awesome.

  • @neondreamscollide Well, shucks. I'm glad you think so!

  • Duck feet look creepy... they look like zombie duck feet or something

  • @ChRoPi21 They were really squidgy.

  • Sooo much canadian music xD I've only been to Toronto once. Everyone says it's amazing but I wasn't crazy about it (it was also 40 degrees out so that miiight have been a factor) I much prefer Montreal.

  • @pixiestixqween I used to hate Toronto. But I had a new love for it after I came back from the UK. I don't know what changed, I'm glad it did though.

And yeah, I love my Canadian music XD

  • @WhyHelloShelby Haha well I think it's safe to say that Toronto is probably more interesting than Ottawa. We do have lots of trees though... :P
