don't blame the protesters for using words to antagonize the police. the police are already choosing to be their antagonists, nothing the protesters say therefore is responsible for antagonizing them.
secondly, it's obvious who is right and who is wrong in this situation: the protesters use words, and the police use violence. the protesters are out during the day, and the police wait until cover of night to attack them.
San Francisco, my heart goes out to you all.....occupy sacramento here, please do not antagonize these police with your words, while it is true that police too, are part of the 99% surely you realize that evil is everywhere, so to provoke is not ok, as you may have just jeopordized everyone elses safety. We need to call on the secs of our community who will protect the people even when police brutality coomes into play.
@Russaldo13 they are taking their stuff and harassing them, verbal abuse is normal at this point, like to see someone do crap to you and your friends and you are okay with doing nothing while they are doing it. wasn't there, just been to enough
do a sit in like the real peaceful protesters did. sit, and sing protest songs, let them drag you away, then you can say it is a peaceful protest, but to antagonize cops, and make a place filthy dirty after you leave it is just nuts. somebody has to clean that stuff up after protesters leave. I agree with the cause, not with the method. Do something else
@wdander agreed. You can see the people disobeying police orders, attacking the police first, and being generally unruly. Yet, they claim the police are at fault.
this video makes me disappointed in general, with both the cops and the protesters. we have a system where people who make the rules are elected. If people are upset with the actions of politicians, why not run for an elected office? I don't see how this can be productive for anyone
lol, exactly Tulkoju. She approaches the protesters, then tells them they're standing too close to her gun. Maybe she should move away if she wasn't comfortable with that positioning?
that's a shotgun fat chick. That's true fcla, but the cops are the ones paid to protect these people, and yet they're the ones bringing the violence. They're the only ones who are armed here, they're the only ones who are attacking people, pushing them to the ground, striking them. No arrests have been made countrywide the other way yet. That's just a matter of time though.
I don't agree with the way cops are acting, but you the protesters are also egging them on which is not the case at all Occupy protests. Don't give the cops reasons to be dicks.
this is the sort of thing that makes my blood boil and the exact reason I've had a hard time physically joining the Occupy movement, I'd have a real hard time remaining non-violent in the face of this sort of oppression from the police.
we need to wake up, while the cops think they are not part of us, we cant just sit getting beat up with NO PLAN untill they one day wake up and decide to join us.. we cant be that inocent.. we should form a police resistance committe to plan peacefull resistance tactics! comom! even if we love our dogs, that does not mean that if my loved dog bytes me im going to just open the gate over and over, think with you brain!
@rek2gnulinux absolutely couldn't agree more. You need some Malcolm to balance out the Martin. Without Malcolm, nothing gets done. Things don't get done until these people feel the same lack of safety that they make others feel. Until they're losing sleep worrying about their own lives, that's when things will change.
it makes it harder for police to see you as the enemy when you don't antagonize them....

Verbal abuse makes it not a peaceful protest. Antagonizing the police makes you all stupid.
Way to give protestors a bad name.

unfortunately it's too dark to see what happened. It's obvious something broke out, but this video doesn't reall help much.
When the female officer says "This is my gun and you're standing next to it.", it does appear to be a threat, but I don't think she intended it to be.
I think she was indicating that the protesters shouldn't stand close to her gun, because she can't know if someone would attempt to take it from her.
However, I assume she was the one approaching the protesters.

how do these officers get away with these actions? How are they not jailed for this? WEARING A BADGE DOESN'T GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO TRAMPLE PEOPLE.
