Like you can go prone on the floor, and when you ADS on not to rough ground, there'll be a short but obvious animation where you take out the bipod and mount it. Or you can mount it on a block of cement to something like that.

Camping is a legitimate strategy and one that actual military forces use quite often. Its only an annoyance if you keep running into the bullets like an idiot. Other than that its actually an interesting tactic and a good defensive strategy:D Cant wait for this game!

so... most people haven't experienced war, neither have I. If you want a tiny idea of what it's like, watch the documentary Restrepo. This isn't close to real, that would be a terrible form of entertainment. But... you can see parallels in this to Restrepo. A gunfight isn't COD- style, it's more of a (please bear with my sound effects):

@fuckkio333e Most rifle engagements take place between 100-300m. In CoD, the engagment range is around 5-20 meters. Also, the whpole point of war is to take ground. With arena-styled maps, CoD lacks this concept and no amount of rule tweaking can change the fact it's fundamentally built differently than a military simulation, which would be "realistic". Please don't call me an idiot, I know what I'm talking about.

@Jaxx11B i agree- restrepo was a fantastic movie. did you know that one of the main filmers was killed in libya covering the fighting? but what the real wars toaday don't have are two legitmate military opponents. it is the rag tag vs the very sophisticated in a war of cat and mouse. i would be curious to see how modern conventional war, like this game aims to portray, paralleles this game if at all.

I hate when people say "CAMP3R!!1". The support is a defensive class designed to get behind heavy cover and lay suppressive fire, especially at a choke point leading to and objective. If you are acting as if you were a living bunker then you're doing it right.

@JDBlessin no, youre not. many people think this, but its just not so. battlefield has had prone for their earlier, better games. it vaporized whenever bad company came around, though. the bad company games are the black sheep of the series, tbh, bf2 is more fun than bc2.

Why do you think they got rid of it in the first place and it hasn't been in any of the last 3 games? And now that they've re-implemented it they added sniper glare to make it less shitty. Snipers that are prone on a massive map will never be found. Prone encourages camping, which is already evident in the beta, especially in the tunnels of metro. The glare certainly makes it bearable because you can at least see the snipers, but get ready for higher levels of camping then in the last 3 games.

@MeTaLISaWeSoMe95 in bf3 there are probably 3 roles i guess, medic and engineer are running forward and clearing enemies and destroying vehicles to complete the objectives, lmg(support0 stays a bit behind and fire loads of bullets where the enemy is so they can't get the objective, and snipers are meant to be a long way away, providing a distraction. A good sniper makes the whole team rage and ignore the objective to go after him - which is why he's far away.
