  • garry turned up.to my training session this year jad a eord with me and I didnt even know who he was aha

  • THE BEST STAND OFF/ CENTRE YOU HAVE HAD THE PRIVELAGETO WATCH, HAVE NOT BEEN TO A GAME SINCE THE 80'S???? HE'S SHITE!!!!!!

  • Hanleys bitch!! i hate GS big mouthed tosser!!

  • A measure of the mans ability is what he did on the international stage as well as top spell down under In my opinion the best centre to play at HullFC.

  • I remember watching Schofield play for Wests against the Canberra Raiders in 1989.He was inceredible and helped a bottom of the comp team beat the Raiders who won the comp in Australia that year. The next year I saw him torment the Kangaroos.Brilliant player.

  • theres only one garry schofield

  • legend, see him in my local from time to time

  • u should spell skoie like this i'm a legend in the makin coming from the leeds to pu tthe schofield name bck on there (:

  • im a hull fc fan and i kills me to say but schoey must have been the top player in the country in his day ,,one of the few who shined for both club and country

  • you need some game fx with this clip

  • how good was pinner

  • Schoey was my hero growing up as a Southstander but having read his book and seen him recently on tv he seems a very bitter man which is a shame. Also having read Bentos's book he's described as a difficult character. Undeniably a great player though... the dummy at 1m20 is sublime.

  • My all-time sporting hero!

  • i no garry really well... he did make loads of money in rugby league. he made well over 3 million.. and he's only a steel worker becose he is in over 70k in debt with william hill. (the bookies) he sold all his OBE's to pay off his debt.. he sold hem in an auction and they went for £250. its his own fault for gambling it all away.

  • one of the greats without question.

  • hes now a steel fixer lol im working with him atm. hes going to be on that sportstar programme were they make them compete in a diff sport hes doin boxin, inside info;)

  • Mate it makes you wonder wtf is going on when an incredible athlete like Schoey was is now fixin steel for a living when these wankey footballers earn in a week enough to retire on!

Schoey was a Legend and a massive influance on my teens, he deserves 100 times more whatever those dickhead footballers earn!

Thers only 1 Garry Schofield, 1 Garry Schofield! :)

  • he was a great. always looked like a gent wearing a monacle to me.

  • first saw him at the boulevard on his first night training with hullfc i said then that he would be a gb captain . He proved he could play at the top level and i believe was the best centre i saw in the black and white no matter what fans might think and i go back some

  • insane

  • A great montage, many thanks for putting it up. I would love to see some more!!

  • Great memories of the best centre/stand off I have ever had the privilege to watch. Garry provided many years of entertainment for Leeds RLFC fans.

Such a shame he is no longer involved in the game.

His greatest game ever for Leeds was against Castleford RLFC at Wheldon Road. It was the premiership first round on the 21,April,1991. He scored the winning try in the last seconds of the game, taking four Castleford players over the line with him, one of them been his old mate Lee Crooks.

  • I remember that, we went mentle!

Another strong memory was the a length of the field match winner against Hull FC at the Boulevard, I think it was in the regal trophy because it was a Saturday,It was always nice to win there!

  • I recall that game at the Boulevard. He scooped up a knock on from a Hull player and went the length. He had the Hull fans calling for his execution yet again!

Get some more up I'd love to see them. I had loads on old VHS tapes but can't find them now!

  • Enjoyed watching him play at Balmain. We had a few good poms over the years.

  • As a young kiwi bloke, I never got to see im or know much about him. Just heard he was one hell of a player from my father. But after watching this, you can just see he was true class. Great video

  • We named our dog after him. Still the best player I have ever seen play in twenty years of watching the game. Excellent montage. Thankyou.

  • A great vid mate. He was a true legend.
