I find its much easier to reach over with your pinkie if you use the "Hendrix" barre chord (taught to me by you, Justin!). Have a go, it is less of a stretch. I also have anti-guitar hands
Finally found the real deal!! Not just some poser who cranks the Beatles to drown out their limitations while they live out the fantasy of being the 5th Fab!!!
get a 325 Rickenbacker guitar, which is a 3/4 size guitar like Lennon used on the song and your little finger stretch problem will be cured. Probably cost you a couple thousand though!
This is the only video that gets it right. All the other lessons on youtube have you playing the notes on there own, but in order to get the right sound, you have to hold the bar chord. Thanks for the upload!
@JustinSandercoeSongs the solution for the little finger problem is just to do the A in the third string second fret (with your index finger), I actually learned the tune like that, without stretching the pinky.

What guitar is this?!
LaniiNexxxxxx 2 months ago
Lennon plays the riff on a Rick 320 with a 3/4 neck. So, the frets are much closer than your guitar. Easier to extend that pinky.

Great lesson mate. Wonderful riff, Harrison said he lifted it from the Byrds.

Fair play, for someone who "wasn't built to be a guitar player" you're not doing too bad! Great lesson mate :-)

You make it look so easy, I find this near impossible to play! My fingers are too short and it hurts my wrist. :(

You could also get a fender squire mini strat for about 150 bucks too! A friend of jon05291 has one works great for stubby fingers.

I have a stubby little finger and I find that a capo on the third fret does the trick! It's cheating a bit but hey!
