  • すばらしい!! 何度見ても元気が出てくる 日本一!

  • 6 ppl got their eyes cut and blinded by Zatoichi before he tripped on the rock.

  • Nice!

  • SHOW TIMEで見て知りました

    this is a cooooooool!!

  • I'm a fan of Shintaro Katsu's Zatoichi movies and TV Series. This movie if you even want to call it that. Is far below that and brings great shame to Zatoichi movies and novels alike. Having watched this modern day remake was a nightmare and I hope they leave the Zatoichi legacy alone until a decent writer and director finds better use for it that this fiasco.

  • I wish i owned the movie, i download this as a song on my phone lol

  • Hang on a minute, did I see the sick wife of the assasin (who died) at the end dancing!? She's certainly cut up about her husband's death!

  • Definitely not a horror film. Its a modern take on the chambara genre.

  • 4 people thought the dislike button was " Dis I Like"

  • Brilliant, brilliant, just BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!! Kitano Forever!!!!

  • amazing !!!

  • I was supposed to be going on one Friday night with friends when this came on the tv. I stood watching it for a minute and ended up not going out at all and lying to everyone just to stay in and watch it. Absolutely amazing film 10/10.

  • We just watched it the other night on SBS and could'nt figure out what the peasant farmers were doing in the field then I think i said are they practiscing dancing but great movie great dancing thanks for the upload. What a talented man that bloke is,and a nice way at looking at life I think.

  • Wonderful!!!!

  • lol pagans

  • "Shogun of the Dance" LOL

  • historically accurate dancing is historically accurate

  • I still don't get how Zatoichi was a bad guy. >.>

  • @yarow122 He wasn't really a bad guy... He just got in the middle of everyone else's schemes!!! ^.^ This is really one of the better versions of the Zatoichi story

  • I wonder how long it took them to memorize all of those steps.

  • That geisha at 3:49 is a man, isn't it?

  • @pianopera :-D They look like man indeed. Btw I think they are not Geisya. Just normal girls....Geisya wears different sort of Kimono and obi(belt) and hair style is not the same I think.

  • @pianopera Umm... you haven't watched the movie have you? O.o

  • @pianopera In real life Tachibana Daigoro is a very famous onnagata (female impersonator) alongside the boy who played young Osei.

  • Wow this was great, thanks

  • Even with my eyes wide open, I still can't see a thing! Brilliant, brilliant film!

  • That is brilliant ....it's such great fun. ...really cheered me up.

  • I have no words to describe this Takeshi Kitano´s master piece, this movie is simply Fantastic . ♫♥♫

Eu não tenho palavras para descrever essa Obra prima de Takeshi Kitano, esse filme é simplismete Divino * ♫♥♫

  • I love it, I always come back to watch it, and love more!

  • A rousing clog dance to end a samurai movie! Sheer genius, man, sheer genius!!

  • This movie was a "masterpiece"? C'mon. It was "entertaining", and it had cool music. Wouldn't put it among the greatest ever though.

  • the music for this film is brilliant

  • I have watched this film tonight and i like it really much also that dance but what is the real name of the boy with make-up?

  • @liegjepiet : Tachibana Daigoro!

  • @liegjepiet The character's name was Seitaro. The older was played by Tachibana Daigoro, and the younger was played by Saotome Taichi.

  • @liegjepiet yes a great film i think that it equals the 1960's era Zatoichi films the boy who dressed as a girl is named Daigoro Tachibana. who sill keeps the traditional dance alive. a rising star of the stage. and now the screen.

  • fuck michael flatly these guys own

  • @icyharris With the winner to take on Bruce Forsyth.

  • Love 2:58

  • did not know that Japan has Tap Dance!!! It's Great too!!

  • Loved this film and the dance scene. Thanks for sharing.

  • lmao! the ladies are funny. one of the guys in the green seems like the shoe is to small for them during the lil solo part. the second guy i think. the ending was funny too

  • Very cool. Amazing. Can't wait to visit Japan this summer. I'm sure this is how I'll be greated at the airport.

  • As cool of a sequence as this is, when it came to that part in the movie I was like WTF? Talk about abrupt change in topic.

  • that's cool!! very interesting.. XD

  • i rmebr buying this film when i was 16 obsessed wiht japanese cinema being in judo and what not-then when i saw the movie i was like wow gorefest-then i saw this at the end.

    10/10

  • これぞ日本人やあ!!!!!1

  • My dad and i watched this film , and we were both left i amazement of how awesome the final dancing scene was. I was like " WHOA , this is AWESOME ".

  • The only film of Takeshi Kitano that was succesfull/populair in japan.

Lol (No disrespect here because the man is a genius)

  • @nakama5o6

Rolf, you obviously have no idea what you're taling about! XD Takeshi is Japan's most famous actor and they look upon him as a national hero; they LOVE his movies in Japan! (Belive me, I lived there for 10 months, and I saw him in TV-shows and commercials ALL THE TIME)

  • @Bommalomma2

I never said he wasn't that famous in japan

I only said this was his only film that was popular in japan

The other movies he made weren't that popular although movie making is one of his big hobbies and in japan he's only famous for his tv work and such

Outside of japan he's famous because of his movies

And don't talk to me like i don't nothing about him

Been at an interview of him at the rotterdam filmfestival so i've seen him for real ; )

  • This ending felt a little out of place, but I enjoyed it.

  • i love this movie...this was a nice way to end this movie...and this video cuts off right before the surprised ending...hehe

  • I wish they had these kind of parties they look so fun and I'd be that drunk guy laughing and trying to tap dance while succeeding in only making an ass out of my self and I wouldn't regret any of it either

  • Just a scene of breathtaking magic. A beautiful and delight Coda to a splendid film. The part when the brother and sister turn back to kids for a moment, so as to say that through it all they were able to reclaim some of their innocence, makes me cry every time. Great crew that gave it their all.

  • hee at the end around 4:08 the 2 geisha's transformed into the young ages!

  • I guess Hattori (Asano) just died in the end cause he didn't wanna dance :D

  • LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xD

  • タップもすごいが、カメラワークも素晴らしい!

  • Excellent movie! Samurai film with a real sense of humour

  • Best casting call ever.

  • My wife stumbled onto this part of the movie while switching channels and shouted Hey, come look at this! Needless to say, we had to find out what it was. Top notch movie and dance.

  • Awesome ending to an awesome film.

  • class film.... absolute mint.

  • this movies brilliant

  • We do this sort of thing all the time before going to sleep where I live. It's also a religious ritual to summon the protection by Chuck Norris.

  • Confirmed.

  • OMG you made my day lol XD

  • @Drerark Wait... you said that they do this to summon the protection.... of chuck norris? And you've seen the clips of this Zatoichi man in action and --? WOW. Zatoichi's level is astronomical. It's like bringing wine coolers to a tequila and vodka party. Or trying to make Urkle go against Einstein. What the hell's wrong with you?

  • this movie was awsome

  • I want to see this movie now

  • Great scene, great movie.

  • can U imagine..this exiting dance is a part of a cruel film...what a great excitement..

  • Anyone else notice how Kitano incorporates rhythmic elements in many ways throughout the film? Although I enjoyed the ending very much on first view, it caught me completely by surprise--probably the last thing I expected to see. Never saw anything like it before.

This could be viewed as an "absurdist" film in many ways. At the least, it has many elements of that film-making style. If the rhythmic and absurdist themes are then joined together, a Japanese "tap dance" ending makes perfect sense!

  • I remember the first time I watched this I was with a friend that started to ask me what the hell was going on. I told him "oh, I'm pretty sure this is their cute idea of a curtain call, see? they're bringing in the other characters, aaaand I think the trumpet sounds signify breaking the fourth wall." immediately upon finishing that sentence, the two guys transform into their child actors. I burst out laughing.

  • 'Zatoichi' is some kind of Japanese Western. A heroic swordman came to a village, which is ruled by bad men, and-of course-defeat them all.

Who can call this a horror film???

  • because there is a lot of blood........some scenes are realy disgusting ....but gerat great great FILM

  • I wouldn't call it a horror, it's not scary ^^ But I still did NOT expect this dance scene to come up... I love it xD

  • You moron! The film features computer-generated blood throughout. Yet, unlike most other instances of this in recent films, Kitano often utilizes it in a very stylized manner, in order to bring more visual beauty to the scenes of violence. Open your eyes to the wonderment of the beauty of death.

  • From what I heard, the CG blood in this film was intended to look 'like flowers blossoming across the screen'.

  • Incredible!! I love this part of the movie.

  • I loved this part of the movie, thanks for uploading it

  • This was the last of 20-odd Zatoichi films I watched and when this dance came up I thought, Wh.What the hell? Then, the next day, I watched it again and realized this number is basically a curtain call for the cast then I loved it. This really blows Lord of the Dance away and frankly, Im glad I cant dance like this because; if I could I would never, ever stop dancing.

  • Who says that only African Americans

    can tap dance?

  • I agree with quesondriac i think it's wonderful that all people of different race can sure their culture with us all there is things that asian decents love about african american culture and vise versa :)

  • "considering that movie itself almost a horror" Do u call this a horror film?

  • These are easily my favorite parts of the movie. I watched it yesterday and I could barely sit still, haha. I wanna dance like that!!!

  • I seriously wanna learn how to dance like that!

  • best part of the movie

  • better then Lord of the dance =D i like it sooo much :D

  • Do What You Do and Check out the Film...

    Sorted

  • This film is really a masterpiece and this dance is funny and amazing!!!

  • cool
