  • Looks like the fucking 90's

  • 87 likes and no dislikes, love it. Hopesfall will always be one of my favorite bands of all time.

  • adam, thank you so much for posting this video. seriously, to me, this is the holy grail. you guys influenced me immeasurably. thank you

  • so this is how they created this masterpiece.

  • I remember this album when I recently graduated from high school... I was into a lot of shitty music but this introduced me to a whole new genre... thanks hopesfall

  • satellite years is a MASTER PIECE.

  • Miss you guys... Loyal listener for 13 years! Wish there where some true connected musians these days. Its all so fake and recycled.

  • playing goldeneye on 64, thats how you know its old school!!!!!

  • Come back!!! Make this kind of music again, please. Not just for me, but for an insane amount of people who are just now getting to hear it. It's so often imitated, but never recreated... I'd shit myself, honestly.

  • Loved The Satellite Years, One the only record that could give me the feeling of my hair standing on end from the start the to the end. However my favourite song is The End of an Era that breakdown at 3:19 is epic.

  • no wings and the satellite years were the total and absolute pinnacle of my obsession with music. there is absolutely nothing like it. also, my best live music experience was hearing End of an Era played in '03 at the Whiskey in LA. glad i was there.

  • i miss this band so much. so underrated and yet they had some of the best guitar work ive heard

  • this is fucking awesome... loved this cd and love seeing how it was produced

  • This band is so akward, haha.

  • I love this band alot, this video is concatenated with very emotional feelings(in a good way) especially the ending... The Satellite Years were AMAZING

  • love this band, this record, and every one of their records til the end

  • Great video, I love TSY!

  • This was the last great album Hopesfall released.

  • are they a christian band?

  • I miss it. Thanks for the peek.

  • BEST BAND EVER MAN.

  • FUCKIN GOLDENEYE!!! you guys are amazing wit da music too of course

  • is that the lead singer from HUM behind the board????

  • @11rfpro Yeah. That's Matt Talbott. He produced the album. I think Ryan and Josh were/are HUGE HUM fans and it's pretty obvious on this album...lots of HUM-like characteristics. Basically..this is almost like a hardcore HUM album....another cool thing is "The Canon" on Magnetic North is an homeage to HUM's "Little Dipper"

  • @11rfpro It better be.

  • @11rfpro Yes, Matt Talbot is the owner of that Studio.

  • @11rfpro Yes. It's his studio. They got to stay at his house and play video games with him.

  • during the year 2002 in 2 weeks these guys created something unique.

  • my all time favorite band.

  • this is the best album of all time.

  • Really nice footage. I would say the satellite years is an absolute classic. I still listen to it at least once a week.

  • one of my all time fav bands. i would love to hear that hopesfall is going to release more music one day

  • one of my all time fav bands. i would love to hear that hopesfall is going to release more music one day.

  • i fucking love you guys. you're music is one of the few simple pleasures that i have anymore. so i must indulge myself into Hopesfall at least once a day. (if not more). was there any truth to the rumor that Jay was working on some solo stuff in the studio?

  • This is the only band I've ever heard, that has such beautiful melodies. I've never really heard a song by them that I thought, "Eh. Not my type."

  • Fucking hopesfall and matt talbot!!! AMAZING! You guys changed my life when I was 15. The satellite years will live on forever!!

  • @IKnowEverythinglive couldn't have said it better man

  • are they recording on tape?

  • this is really awesome for a lot of reasons

  • Goldeneye in the studio. My God, you were/are a bunch of nerds, but you made the best hardcore record, and that shaped me through the end of my teen years. And that shaped the way I play guitar now. Thank you for that.

  • i think i had satellite years in my cd player in the truck for like 3 months straight now!

  • this is wicked. i miss the old hopesfall

  • to date, the best album ever.

  • really, this album shaped my years of teenage angst. I loved it with every part of me. but what a bunch of nerds in the studio. Except for the dancing, with the producer, props for that. This is in no way a negative comment. The Goldeneye in the studio is way rad. From the age of "hardcore" this is the only album I could put on and still enjoy, but enjoy with all of me. Thanks to you guys, you geeks.

  • hopesfall was my gateway drug!

  • is that freaking perfect dark?! BEST GAME EVER!

  • matt t rules!!

  • thanks for the great music

  • nwtso + satellite years era hopesfall is the shit.. thanks for the awesome upload. also goldeneye, nice

  • Remember when Brigham smacked me in the head with his guitar in CBGBs? Old school classic. Thank you guys for turning me into your music and your influences, like Hum and Shiner. Would love to keep up with your new music now. Let me know whenever you guys are in NYC.

  • great video, great band

  • AMAZING!!!! I love hopesfall.

  • this album brings out so many emotions i cant even explain it!! its just so.......amazing!

  • great memories, good times.

  • Freaking Awesome!

  • i see all these people talking about how this record changed their life and their prospective on music. and i cant deny it had the same effect on me. not quite as profoundly as No Wings To Speak of did tho. there will never in the entire time of the universe be an album thats so beautifully put together from every aspect. the outros to end of an era, the far pavillions, and only the clouds, never has anyone anywhere created such beauty with strings, wood, and drum heads.

  • Matt Talbott and Hopesfall was an incredible combination. Satellite Years will always have a place in my heart.

  • Thank you, Adam. I got chills when RP was playing the ending to Andromeda. Music tends to represent time periods for me and this album takes me straight back to my college days. But it didn't end there - TSY is still in heavy rotation for me and always has been. Like others have said - it is a true masterpiece. I could thank you guys everyday for the rest of my life and it still would not sufficiently express my appreciation for what you guys created for us.

  • That album is just a master piece. I've listened to it off and on for years and years now.

  • please put up any video you have

  • what!!!!!! i thought ive seen every hopesfall video! this is the holy grail

  • DUDE THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS.

  • I miss hopesfall so much.

  • If only you I could see you guys play one more time...

  • So i never post on youtube... im strickly a leech. But when i found this footage and saw it was accually posted by you i had to post. This album changed my life and way of thinking about music, like im sure it did for thousands of kids. What the lable did to you guys and whatever happened back stage is tragic bc if this line up was still making music .... i dont know... but it would be increadible. Basically i guess im just saying thank you for making Satalite Years.

  • Astronaut-core. That's what I always referred it as...simply because I always feel like the loneliest astronaut ever. I love this band.

  • strong contender for best video on youtube, period.

  • god i miss hopesfall

  • i love hopesfall .. !! ill never ever get enough .. im getting icarus wings from a types tattooed on me .. just beautiful music and lyrics ! thxs guys !

  • apologies if you already answered this: but did you track part of this record live? or the entire thing? it has such a natural feel, and un-compressed bleed to the mix, that i love and enjoy sooo much, and i always wondered what the process was.. thanks!

  • ahhhh hopesfall.....

still remains in my top 3 reatest bands ever

  • This made my night. The Satellite Years = best damn album, period. Thanks for posting this! :)

  • at 2:47 i lol looks like their swimming in the air i want to join :D

party in the air everyone join

  • My first time seeing them was also on that tour with coheed when they came to philly... I went to see coheed but was completely blown away by hopesfall

  • I have to say, this is amazing footage. It captures music at it's best. This was an amazing era of Hopesfall and something to be extremely proud of being a part of. I'll never forget my first Hopesfall show with Coheed and OneLineDrawing at the Birch Hill in NJ. That night changed my life and the way I see music.

  • ♫ her olive eyesss..repeat failure in every glAAAre♫...Damn, this is so nostalGik, remenBr me the best days of my LIFE... [lov it] :)

  • this is one of my all time favorite CDs from top to bottom. got me through some tough shit back in the day. still listen to it when i work out.

  • Awesome! Adam, teach me how to drum. And what's the deal with contrails? Are you guys still gonna be a band?

  • WTF?! The vocalist at 4.00 min. Can`t understand shit. Even without music. He actually doesn`t even need lyrics. Ha can bark like this throughout the whole CD. :)

  • thanks so much for posting this! hahah my friends and i ALWAYS put on this record when we play goldeneye for n64, so ironic and hillarious they played it while recording it! hahah

  • hey Adam, i've always wondered.. why was Ryan kicked out of the band before the release?

  • Awesome video! Thanks for putting it up. This record changed my life, no joke. I can still listen to all the time after all these years (and changes of taste in music) and I've never become sick of it. It still gives me chills. I can't really say that about many, or any other records really.

  • @SkipPrime

Same here man, my music taste is much further from metal nowadays, but this album remains incredible.

And Matt Talbot, awesome! :) Must've been amazing working with him after being inspired so much by his works.

  • im feeling so nostalgic. MY #1 RECORD OF THE WORLD!! THANK YOU.

  • This is great stuff! Matt Talbot for the win!

  • This.

I don't think this album would have been so epic without Talbott.

The songs would've sounded great no matter what, but he did that little extra that turned this album into a timeless piece and it's quite obvious how influenced by HUM this band was. They even did the mini-cover on Magnetic North.

  • april left with silence was always my favorite song.

  • Oh, the memories! This is awesome. I'm so glad you put this together.

  • i have this album on VInyl signed by the band.

    they were my fav.

this album is by far in the top 3 best hardcore albums ever. so beyond there time.

  • I remember seeing Hopesfall at Cornerstone festival in 2000 or 2001, and it being the first exposure to anything like that I had ever had. Satellite Years to this day still blows my mind. Thanks so much for sharing the memories.

  • one of my favorite sounding hardcore records ever, thanks for posting this. this record is one of the reasons i got into recording bands

  • Damn, i used to fall asleep to this record every night. Loved this lineup and the lineup that toured the record. Ryan Parish and Adam Morgan are pimps.

  • thank you for putting this up. i miss hopesfall as well as this era of music in general. the satellite years still gives me chills to this day. like a few others said, it was cool to see the gear you used to record it as well.

  • you guys were the best!!! ONE MORE SHOW!! pleaseeeeeee

  • AMAZING cd. This is how music should be made. I miss this band and this style...nobody plays melodic hardcore like this.

  • I agree with all you guys. hearing this shit takes me back man. good times.

  • I bet they wouldn't wear those trustkill shirts I saw anymore.

Absolutely fucking loved this record. Love seeing the gear these guys used to make it happen too.

  • i miss this band. i used to fall asleep to this cd

  • You guys should probably reunite with the original lineup and all. Just sayin'

    Life changing album for me.

  • Hey guys.. Thank you all for supporting our band throughout the years. I thought some of you might appreciate a little "behind the scenes" look at some of our home videos. It's been great reading all of your positive comments! Thank you again for your support.

  • Great seeing this, really.

Love seeing the amps y'all were using.

And Jay screaming on the recordings, awesome.

  • @madamorgan come back : ( either way you guys provided some great memories.

  • definitely miss this band!

  • dangggg. def still one of my go to albums.

  • The part where you first recognize he's playing Andromeda gave me chills. Thanks for putting this up, brought me back.

  • Wow, it really dosen't seem like it has been that long since this album came out. My how the years fly by...

It's cool to see Mr. Matt Talbott on the boards over there. HUM and Hopesfall should have toured together when they did their reunion.

  • I remember when this came out. It was on repeat for weeks in my car stereo, and still gets a decent play every now and then on my iPod. So many great tracks on this thing, and it was ahead of its time, in my honest opinion.

  • What a band!!!....shame the good members left and the band got shit :( End of an era was prob the best song ever!

  • seeing/hearing this makes me feel so nostalgic it hurts. Top 10 discs easy

  • some of the greatest hours of my years in eighth and ninth grade were spent listening to this album. thanks.

  • Still incredible, still very missed. Hope you guys will come back to us someday.

  • hopesfall was such a good band. well this was their last good album. but ive been rocking their shit since end of an era.

  • Great fucking album, one of my favorites of all time. I saw them in a garage right before this album came out and My Chemical Romance (who NO ONE there had ever heard of) was opening. Sweet Coalesce shirt too, Give them rope.... is one of my other favorites of all time.

  • i can't believe that album came out 7 years ago already.

  • I represent the fans from Indonesia i have to say,

    PLEASE COME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Adam, put some more stuff like this on here. Its so inspiring to see hopesfall in the studio! Satellite Years is the best album on earth!

  • greatest album ever!
