i mean, if they didn't grab jersey's there might be more punches thrown, but a player isn't going to just let someone pound their face in, so they will take hold. But a really good fighter can switch hands and just go to town on someone

for one...thats wats called womans hockey. and there still is an olympic team and everything. and 2. fighting and checking are 2 different things. u can have checking with out fighting just so u know. even if there wasnt any checking im sure millions of ppl would still watch it bcuz its so fast paced and adrenaline pumping. im sure if u took out hitting AND fighting there would not be as many ppl watching ill give u that. but they r completely different and there still would be a big fan base.

u made up that they only fight so that the fans will watch the game. Many time the most exciting games are the ones that dont even have a score or games that are tied. cuz in that case there is a shoot-out. the part that u made up was that if there wasnt fighting then ppl would lose interest and prolly wouldnt watch the game.
