However, I don't think that would make sense, since this is to promote SJM. Thus, the louder the cheers, the better.

I noticed that too, but the members weren't in a subgroup before, except for Kyu and Wookie (KRY was the 1st one, its been a long time) SM wants SuJu heavily promoted in China as DBSK is in Japan; I think any member would have been good for SJ-M, and they wanted kpop to break out into the C-Market, having a subgroup dedicated to them made SJM successful and SJH balanced them out in korea, they were very popular there, it's just that SJ-M brought a new wave to a different country
