Wasn' t it Craig Gannon who came up with those chords? I seem to remember Morrissey and Marr settling out of court after he sued them for neglecting to give him full credit for his involvement.
no offence but the first chord is more of a Gsus2 if youre implying the Maj9 is the open A note. Raising the octave would be a compound 2 or Maj9 (Omit 7)

Johnny Marr basically plays inversions of maj and min chords WITH sus for color.
For example, CEG is the C major chord, but he loves to go from CEG to EGC to CGE!!! And in theory, you can resolve chords this way an INFINITE number of times.,
