Because #1: It could be a frozen drop of water. #2: It could be water on the inside of the craft. #3: it could be any of a number of substances. #4: It could be a drunk alien in a weird spherical spacecraft buzzing around for no apparent reason whatsoever. Which of the former seems more likely?
