  • my rm 125 was doing the same thing the day before the rod bearing blew and destoyed my whole moter

  • almost a cr250s make that nosie mine does it two no big deal

  • did you ever get this fixed? mine has same problem. i replaced the whole topend, bottom end bearings and piston rod, reeds and still have same noise

  • okay i got a 1985 yamaha IT 200 and it does the same. and i have a 1980 honda cr80r in mint shape and it did this. idk why? both run great. my IT has awesome compression. i just got the bike a week ago and it did not do it then but i ran it a little hard and started using different oil(32:1) and fixed a few problems and now it does this. so im agreeing that it sounds like top end bearings

  • mine did the same thing maybe louder. get your self a wiseco piston problem solved. repace wrist pin bearing to. good to go.

  • seized wrist pin

  • Your piston is taping ur head at the top,

  • its not crank berings when the crank berings go so do the oil seals and the bike starts smokeing really bad happend to me

  • thts how a two stroke shud sound

  • Yea crank bearings, mine did the same

  • @FastAsYou77x its not the crank bearings. thats ring slap

  • Mine made that same noise, I ignored it thinking it was a typical 2 stroke tic

  • its 2 stroke dude haha

  • what happends if you ride around with bad crank bearings? my cr250r makes the same noise

  • @katiereid123 you will completely fuck your crank shaft and will nick the barrel change it in time and save yourself relateing the barrel

  • I think it's the reverse gear thats out of timing, try putting it in 2 wheel drive and see if it still sounds the same if not youve got a worn sprocket.

  • just rebuild the engine and see what happens

  • Crank bearings, my cr 250 does it a bit too, I'm gonna replace them soon.

  • Crank bearings.

  • Ahh this in not good. This happened to me, it is the flywheel polishing itself whilst your baffles are seizing up :/ if you don't fix it soon then your brake leaver will be burning to much oil, leading to a faulty side panel, better get it fixed or your flywheel will become to polished and will triple the rmp range :/

  • almost sounds like my rm before i took it apart, very noisy and rattley, more than likely bottom end crank bearings and or rod bearing, still ran like raped ape but definitley was blown up and on the verge of catastophic failure, fix it before it goes

  • its your kickstarter, the gears are grinding against eachother

  • If your bike has good compression, then its not piston slap or a worn out cylinder, probably pre-ignition due to carbon build up, or your top end wrist pin/roller bearing is worn out, or even your bottom end rod bearing/ or crank bearings.use a stethiscope(tool a doctor uses to listen to your heart) or a socket extension tool, put it next to your ear, then the top end or bottom end of your engine and you should be able to point out your problem by listening while its running.

  • spark plug "sounds" fowled; this is funny as shit, yeah I bet the muffler bearing are out of spec too.. lmao

  • its jus letting u know its a shitty honda, to fix this get a yamaha

  • mate of mine had o2 cr 125 his had the same thing he took it back to honda they stripped the motor completley down checked everything put new wisco piston and ring kit in started it still had it i got news for ya dude its a hitnmiss with that year of bike all it is is the manufacture hitnmiss

  • buy a banshee

  • @BMustang87 haha quad bikes u can jamem up ya clacker lol heavy as fuck lol 2 wheelers are better fun lmao . i had a quad bike land on top of me nearly broke my leg pricks of things they are :P

  • most 2strokes will have a tick, esepcially hondas

  • i had the almost exact same sound on my 03 cr250 and it turned out to be that i needed new crank bearings. ?

  • sounds like piston slap

  • also clean or change your spark plug cause that sounds soo fouled

  • change oil

  • this is what they do. this isnt a problem. most cr250s do this

  • umm this is normal but my Yz250 had a louder knocking and the piston shattered and fucked shit up in the engine. so if it getts louder change your piston, rings, needle bareing and wristpin

  • this is a easy one: take it apart. Its easy.

  • Its just a bit of piston slap needs a new piston maybe re plate the barrel, nothing to do with timing chain/valves thats on a four stroke, if the timing was out on the magneto (keyway broken or worn away on crankshaft) it would backfire when kicking and not run at all so not that

  • without a doubt it has something to do with the Timing Chain / Valves... Go to your local dealer and explain your situation and bike etc...

  • @fattony123082 its a 2 stroke it doesnt have valves or timing chain

  • @fast3racer I know I know... was just trying to be a smart ass.. thats why I typed in the dealer and explain what you think it is.. they will laugh and explain to u it can't be either due to the fact of it being a 2stroke...

  • Run it till it breaks.

  • ive just done the top end on my 2007 cr125 and checked the crank case muffler bearings and every thing u guys have said exept the power valve it was the shaft in the valve was tapping the case and now its all good:)

  • @dirtastegood that is the funniest thing i have ever read

  • mhhmmmm what is tht mysterious ticking noise?

  • @dirtastegood hahahahah

  • the clatter ticking noise is the power band valve slappin back and forth it aint nothin serious

  • Pistonknocking

  • crank bearings, possibly from storage, moisture can somtimes get in the cases and lil bits of rust get on the bearings, then wen u run it the bearings are rough and noisey, its still runs fine but will pile up eventually

  • mine sounds the same way ever figure out what it was

  • @polishplayboyxxx I have never owned a 2t but to me it sounds like you need to up your idle speed a little and check your air/fuel mix

  • almost sounds like the kickstart is being held down... who knows, sometimes microphones held close to a motor can make it not sound accurate.

  • @dirtastegood pee n sand? whats next? rocks n bullets?

  • @dirtastegood i didn't no there was a 2 stroke 450:p

  • @moorehuntin Yep i have one of the limited edition yrf's. They are worth quite a bit. Its bored to a 455 for that little bit of power.

  • @moorehuntin couple of em out there not many honda made ythem for i think a year

  • mine has that too. still runs perfect though so it doesnt bother me!

  • got a bent radiator there.have you fixed that

  • my cr125 makes the same noise, turnsout its coming from the powervalve. i think its a slight factory defect but the power valve runs fine and hasnt broken yet so im not bothering about it

  • dude....its a 2 stroke. it ticks. just run it.

  • suppose to sound like that thats your pistion cycling through the stroke and if it is really loud it happend to me too but i found out i needed to adjust my valves its a bitch to do by yourselft but also alot of money depending on how many valves u have

  • my 250 rm does that and here is nothing wrong it's just your crank gears or something like that turning

  • it is sposs to sound like that that mean your motor is working

  • Everyone is bitching about 250 this 450 that, 2-stroke this 4-stroke that, I like the both, and I just like to ride!!! So long live BIKES!!!

  • @mike3oo @futureunknown will you two just shut up and say your both good? jesus christ...

  • my dirtbike had that problem. my problem was the crankshaft was bent. thats probaly what that could of been

  • id check the gears in the kicker

  • it might need a new piston the piston in it might be dameged and be geting to small for the barrel

  • its just the 'infamous' honda knock thats all. i have a mint 02 cr 125 and it does the same thing bought it brand new and its fine nothing to worry about

  • piston

  • sounds like it could be piston slap...maybe

  • Its the Power valve making that noise

  • @143Chippy that's what I am thinking too, goes away with higher idle then re appears if you listen closely when it falls back, check the cable play, take the RC cover off, if the side cable touches the RC Valve covers left wall, it is too loose, tighten it so there is just a tiny bit of play. I have the same year myself, just ordered a brand new air striker for it, cant wait till spring!

  • @futureunknown yer i have the same problem and i think you are right if you have any other ideas let me know! :)

  • friend of mine braught new cr 125 back in 2003 all the new cr 125 and 250 2stroke have it cant get rid of it . he took it back into honda they pulled the engine apart checked everything and put back together and put back in the bike and started it again and still same nothing was wrong just another tap .

  • well hondas suck ASS so thats why its making a weird noise

  • @mike3oo hondas r raw and the tougest bikes ever

  • @mike3oo let me guess you ride a yamaha?

  • @zombi105 nah i ride KTM! Fastest bike on the planet if you treat it right!

  • @mike3oo uh ok... I bet my CR250r will smoke your KTM! I hang with 450's

  • @futureunknown your all talk bud. anybody can say they are the best and nobody will believe you because everyone lies on here in these comments saying how good and fast they are when really they ride almost as shitty as you! I bet youre one of those people that thinks theyre cool when they go really fast in a straight line and cant jump or corner worth crap and is always sitting down on your seat instead of your ass on the gas tank when you corner lol

  • @mike3oo well lets see son, I am 31 years old and been riding since I was 6 years old, I likely have way more experience then you ever would and I can almost, with out a doubt, guarantee that I could smoke you on a track any day. Secondly, I would love to have you see my bike, I beat 450's with my bike bud, so before you go flappin your adolescent trap at me, know just who the fuck you are talking to punk.

PS, if you are ever around here some time ill show you up ;)

  • @futureunknown well i guess those 450's are just sitting on the track and not moving then if you're beating them. I could stay up with you and you could try your hardest to pass me but you going your fastest is like me putting around going slow........bud. And I'm around there all the time because your mom won't stop calling me :)

  • @futureunknown my honda xr80 will probably smoke yur ktm

  • @thebauerskater Nice if I had a KTM moron, I dont own that shit, I own a super fast Honda CR250 which would smoke your XR80 in 1st gear lol.

  • @mike3oo bring your piece of shit by some time and ill spank it with my Honda :)

  • @futureunknown bring your mom by some time and ill spank her with my dick :)

  • @mike3oo my mom would probably kick your ass bud

  • @dirtastegood That is the best idea I have ever heard dude!!!!!! I think I might go try that.

  • octane is probably low what kind of gas are you running in it? Oh and I would run Sunoco 93 if you know what that is. And mix your oil to gas anywhere between 32-1 to 40-1. Hope this helps.

  • crank bearings?

  • lower the idle. mine sounded like that and i lowered the idle and it stopped. besides ur idles too high

  • May be a bad lower rod bearing and or piston slap, piston and rings could be worn very bad. I would take the top end off and check, before more damage results.

  • you are all stupid, it has a crank case, splits into two, and the crank must be pressed in the middle at a shop. and there is no oil, it's mixed in the gas, which cycles through the crank on the upstroke, and sucked into the jug for combustion. the noise can be signs of a rebuilt if it has piston slap from wear, if so, might need to bore it out for a pefrectly round cylinder. two strokes never run smooth and quiet though, if it starts first or second kick, good, if more, you have blow-by. bad.

  • you pussy

  • all the cr's have it well i have the same year 03 cr250r and it makes the same sound

  • might of been a crank bearing goin out

  • thats how my two stroke sounds and there is nothing wrong with it

  • dont listen to those idiots and defffffffffffinatly dont rev it for 10 min unless u want a blown piston.it sounds like the crank

  • thats just how 2 strokes are my bike does the same thing and it runs fine....yeah ride it for like 5-10 mins and it will make less noise

  • i hope u mixed ur gas rite if not that reset ur idle because i hace the same bike as u and mine made that tick noise but i adjusted my idle and now i dosnt do it anymore

  • valves are loose. if you attempt to tighten be careful if you tighten to much the engine will get hella hot and the tailpipe can glow red ahah

  • @420cache two strokes dont have valves they have reed valves.....four strokes have valves

  • @420cache two strokes dont have valves like a four strok they have reed valves.....four strokes have valves

  • it could be just lose bolts to mount the engine making it rattle.

  • Don't worry, my cr125 did that when I bought it brand new for the 07 season it's just honda's I ride a 2010 crf250r with an eleven ten mods motor an it knocks brand new too, it's called the Honda knock my 85 used to too.

  • valves maybe

  • Its just a 2 stroke man its gonna sound tinny.

  • put poop in the gas tank and it will run better

  • turn up the idle and it will go away its just cause its idleing at such a low rmp

  • Does the noise stop when you pull the clutch in?

  • actually there is' timing' persay its the balance shaft. Not that sure if this bike has it but the noise could be either piston slap, or your con. rod bearing.

  • its a two stroke moron there is no timing

  • there is but its in fly wheel lad and it wont go out of time :P

  • @savegex46 ..oh yea lol i forgot about that

  • i have the same damn problem on my kawasaki kx 85cc '02 ..

the piston blew up and i replaced it and now it has that ticking noice.

haven't ride my kx in like 1year!!

  • Sounds like the power bands are loose ! $@^$%&#@$

  • need a rebuild asap

  • Wrist pin. Change your top end and youll be fine. It happened on both my 125 and 250. Both were '03's and it fixed it both times. I would recommend the wiseco kit. It lasts longer and is cheap.

  • sounds fine. if the clicking was louder it'd be the crank bearing, but cant really tell with that quality

  • its the crank bearing. done it 4 times. need a new bottom end. around 500 bucks.

  • yea dude yu conrod sounds busted mine made a knocking sound and then it eventually jammed up n it was the bottom cod rod bearing and 2strokes dont have valves only 4 stokes do

  • That is just how must Honda's are even the 2010 four strokes have that click honda hasnt gotten that worked out yet. i have an 2003 cr250r and does the same thing.... its nothing wrong with bike its just how some are

  • i know this vid is old, but thats a blown lower rod bearing, thats a180$ fix cause you need the whole rod assembly and the crank and all that crap, this recently happened to my yz 250, good fight a whole summer of riding.

  • Sounds normal. Next door neighbor has an 08' KTM 85 and it does the exact same thing. It stops when you put it in gear

  • typical honda noise hubbys cr 250 has same noise n its just had a complete rebuild top n bottom

  • dam it could be idk man sounds intrwesting i would check both dawg

  • dawg replace your muffler brearing i just had same problrm and did it and now its good

  • @josheylane oh yea but it could also be the muffler fluid as well. mine had the same problem and was way low and i filled it and problem solved

  • friends 87 rm125 was the same way.it was piston slap.took the head off and we could move he piston side to side quite a bit

  • @111MadMan111 cant do nothing... sounds normal to me.. the ticking is from the engine firing..

  • The wabulator shaft is in need of adjustment. Just take off the right side engine cover end then tighten up the main bolt. Its easy to fix.

  • timings off

  • @burkeycv dont be a smartass its a 2 stroke it doesnt have timing they have a magnetio.all honda's tick man, change ur crankcase oil and make sure you are not running pure water, make sure u got antifreeze in it or it will over heat and melt a hole in the head or melt the rings.

  • @p3kranger98 is there no timing for the flywheel, to adjust when it sparks?

  • @p3kranger98 hahha your the smart ass and yes your right about the 2 stroke but they dont have crank case oil.

  • @rcnuts1 are you kidding me dude?transmission oil, gear case pil, crank case oil all the same shit.

  • @p3kranger98 2 strokes have timing. what do you think causes it to spark at the right time?

  • @p3kranger98 not to mention the rust part

  • @p3kranger98 they do have timing my friend how do u think the cdi knows wen to send a spark?

  • piston slap or power valve is in need of adjustment.

  • at: VC7hits where did your piston and cylinder go..? did they run away ?.... lol j/k

  • polish bastard get back to your own country

  • yea thats the bottom end bearing. if it sounds like a winding with a tick then thats the bottom end..

  • @450rable yea it has the power valve not valves get ur shit straight

  • piston slap?

  • Turn it off!!! You're top end is about to go. Way cheaper to fix before it goes and drops a bunch of crap in your gear box.

  • try holding in the clutch lever. if the noise and vibration decreases without reving then its not just the piston. all 2t has ticking noise.

  • idk of it is cerious or not change the oil or check or pistond

  • ur piston is gone. that hapen to my kx 125. and my cylinder was gone to.

  • maby the kick start gear

  • just a handa for u

  • she guna bloow get a new ring piston rebore pins etc then it will go sweet as

  • That is not the main bearings, Its the rad valve. On the front of the carb there are reeds, one is either broken and hitting the piston or power valve.

Just pull off the carb and youll find out.

  • my ktm is making a rattling sound please check out my vid and help me please thanx so much

  • It is your valve

  • My yz 125 did the same, i carried on riding it and the top and bottom end was gone. Cost me 600£. Get it sorted at a shop now if your not sure what your doing, save what you can in the engine mate.

  • just the usual 2 stroke sound

  • @dirtbike4life1 hahaha NOT

this is probably the big end bearing how we call it in holland

i had the same on my ktm it was shite and coste way over 600 euro (500 dollar) to fix it because 9 out of 10 your crankshaft bearings are fucked up to

or how you call it in english hahahha:$

  • crankshaft bering...

  • I had a 2001 kx 250 that sounded like that but ran fine i think you need to rebuild them after a while though, just ask a bike shop for rebuild times piston rings ect

  • that happend to my friends yz250, and that is a warning that your engine is about to blow

  • @2smoker261 ..... ummm no its not a WARNING your engine is about to blow... LOL!... i love how people on here think they know it all....... its a 2-stroke man.... u might need to replace the rings... just take a look at it

  • @TreeK7 same thing, i call it a warning because he was able to shift down a couple times then that ole yz250 went boom, and that was the end of his race

  • dude your a dumb a## its your freaking ring they need to be replaced.

  • Just Hold it FULL thorttle for no less then 10mins and you should not be able to hear that sound any more

  • @ExtremeGoonRider lollllllllllllllllllll

  • @ExtremeGoonRider yea cuz the engine will blow and you wont here enything

  • @ExtremeGoonRider you are a goon rider sounds like a excellent way to incease power on my RM 85 ill be right back!

  • @ExtremeGoonRider ha! u idiot.

  • @ExtremeGoonRider it works every time !

  • @ExtremeGoonRider hold the throttle for less then ten minuts that a good idea if you want to blow your motor up

  • @ExtremeGoonRider

certainly cure that terrible piston slap lol

  • You definetly need a top end when you lay hard on the throttle it hesitates and doesn't have high rpm-top end needs to be rebuilt if you keep running it like that you will eventually need a bottom end too.
