I've heard all of Coughlin's 1930's broadcasts, he never once advocated exterminating Jews. What Coughlin actually said against Jews was that far too many of them supported anti-Christian Socialist and Communist movements and thus they caused the reactionary anti-Communist Nazi and Fascist movements in Europe.
"Because I love my fellow Christians both abroad and at home; because I love my fellow Americans, be they Jew or gentile, I will not be silent int he face of an impending disaster nor will I still my voice in pleading for the elimination of all persecution be it that of Naziism, or of Communism whence it sprang..." -Charles Coughlin, Dec 11, 1938, also quoted in Am I An Anti-Semite p. 100

"I hold no animosity towards the Jews. I distinguish most carefully between good Jews and bad Jews as well as I do between the good gentiles and bad gentiles. I sincerely sympathize with the millions of humble, religious Jews both in America and elsewhere who have been persecuted... every person worthy of the name of Christian stands prepared to oppose the excesses of Naziism; stands prepared to extend the right hand of sympathy towards the persecuted Jews in Germany." - Coughlin, Dec 11 1938

Fr. Coughlin or Glenn Beck who should we believe? I'll take Fr. Coughlin. Beck is a Judas goat, Fr. Coughlin was a Catholic priest who stood up against the powers that be, the Federal Reserve, the tail that wags the dog of the US Government. Glenn Beck is on the other hand is ON THE PAYROLL of the tail that wags the dog.
Glenn is misinformed. I knew Father for several years at his parish in Royal Oak, Michigan. To characterize him as condoning genocide is a horrific insult. He was a man of great character and intellect whom I admire to this day. Glenn you should be ashamed of what you said about him. He was controversial to be sure, but he was not evil.
