There's a gasstation at the end of the bridge, and I believe also just prior to it. So really.. you have to be really unlucky or an idiot to run out of gas :P
@lhequatro The problem is, that the bikes I'm looking at are all from about around 2005-2006~, and the R1 just doesn't compare to the other bikes in those years.
The newer models with the crossplane engine are killers though, but are sadly somewhat out of my pricerange.

Maybe this year I'll get a Yamaha, but I'm not sure about that yet. It's a tough call between a Ninja ZX-10R, YZF-R1, or a CBR1000R Fireblade....
