Watching all these vids and wondering why I quit playing many years ago.

I think I realized the issue I had watching them now..... Just too easy to drop a mech and make it useless by simply 'Knee-capping" it.

It's... actually called 'Legging' because you knock out the leg of the opposing mech.

hey, just a hint, unless you got lrms's, or really heavy armor, dont mess with the timber wolfs. especially when they have jump jets. ownage.

unfortinly in mechwarrior 4 the timber wolf lost its ability to mount jump jets, they began becoming very spesific, only key mechs could jump, mount ECMS, and only sertain areas could contain sertain weaponry but even then the timber wolf is still a monster on the feild against teh smaller faster or the larger heavily armored

I believe the only real game in which you could customise a 'Mech was MechWarrior 2 : Mercenaries - 31st Combat and Ghost Bears' Legacy didn't give you the option, even with option to switch between standard and Alpha configuration

u could choose ur engine, armor, weapons, heat sinks, and criticals in MW2..u had a full mech lab

the only issue with this was mechs were allowed to much freedom small mechs were able to mount larger weapons granted few of em but still and it allowed people to completely ditch the arms in favor of the more heavily fortafied torso areas for weapon slots in 3 this was scaled to be alittle more realistic but it wasnt made a truely fitting weapon-to-design limit till 4

what issues? if your running a good comp and somthing along the lines of windows ME or newer you should be able t get it, unless it is an unfixed vista

this song truely respresents battletech, the innersphere, the mercinaries, the pirates, and even the fallen honor of the clans, to me when they introduced the clans they tok the one thing that all stories need, conflict, they took the weakened innersphere and forced them to unite to fight a technologicly superoir enemy, who dispite their honor had slowly begun to fall from their once noble days due to having bickered with eachother and finding the innersphere below them due to the civilwars

Lol the inn sphere atlas looks like one of those lame robot toys you get at christmas that spins around and squeals. clan mechs have always been far superior to inner sphere mechs.

the point im trying to make is clan mechs look better, more thought has gone into their designs and everyone knows the inner sphere mechs were rip off of Japanese manga robots. true they are overpowerd but they had to be as the clans were vastly outnumberd and had way less resources. They are geneticaly enginered for war so they should have kick ass mechs.

I agree yes that FASA did "Borrow" ALOT from Harmony Gold on a few mech pictures. But they did more for those images than Harmony Gold ever did. I am not saying that some of the clan mechs dont look cool, but they dont look like they would take anywhere near the damage that they can take.

The Atlas was based on the specifications of Alexandr Kerensky himself. It's meant to be an ugly mech that is as distinct as it is terrifying. A pilot of an Atlas isn't riding a mere hunk of metal with guns: he rides a battle chariot pulled by Phobos and Deimos.

actualy both of you dont think about the story, the reaosn the INnnersphere sucks is cause 300 years of war technology has gone backwards cause everyones just trying to put more weapons out and they lose their tech edge, the clans have 300 years of Controls combat, meaning only spesific battles happened and their wars were not destructive to their military, planets, or economy, allowuing them to build their tech up over 300 years
