Learn the original and then do your own, its like someone copying the mona lisa and then someone thinking that the copy is the original and so they copy from that - you get a copy of a copy (which might have some artistic validity but only as an exercise not as a work to be displayed in public).

I totally respect the way Tom and Scarlett sing the song. It is just a different way of singing it. The chords are just C and F and with a little movement of the fingers if you would like more detail or help I would be happy to try and explain it more.

You have a good voice, but this song isnt for you. Scarlett did this song as a tribute to Tom, and so she sand it accordingly, you however do not. Learn the song and its meaning so you can sing it as is should be.

I totally agree with this statement. Learn the original and then do your own, its like someone copying the mona lisa and then someone thinking that the copy is the original and so they copy from that - you get a copy of a copy (which might have some artistic validity but only as an exercise not as a work to be displayed in public).

And you are a dummy, if you watched the video in like the first 15 seconds a pop up shows and she says in it this is actually a Tom Waits song.

Scarlett is an amazing Actress but as far a a singer goes her voice is VERY average and a LOT went into the production to make her sound better. i found it really bad of you not to accept a non-positive critic! adoroel77 didin's say you didn't have a good voice, he just said your version music wasn't better than the original! if you want my opinion, i agree! when you post a video interpretation of a music, you have to prepair yourself to recieve not only good critics but also the bad ones, and accept both of them(i'm not talking about offensive ones).

You obviously do not pay attention or read very well. If you check any of Margie's videos she accepts criticism whether its good or bad. In fact I think she is a good sport about it. I have seen very little bad critics of her music and of the few that have said something negative. Most made no constructive valid point and what they said was flat out stupid or off the wall opinion. Check the facts before making statements is my advice to you. Peace

I totally respect the way Tom and Scarlett sing the song. It is just a different way of singing it. The chords are just C and F and with a little movement of the fingers if you would like more detail or help I would be happy to try and explain it more.

I am unsure if this was cleared up but his last name is Waits. I heard this song tonight for the 1st time at the Fox in St Louis and it was a big deal for me. You did a beautiful job covering the song that I thought headlined the concert!
