  • My father passed away in 1999. It was a very sad day, but during his funeral service I played " Amazing Grace " from the 'Octaroon' album. Dad played accordion when he was young, and your fantastic rendition helped to lighten the mood. Thank you so much.

  • I picked up a CD oh gosh several years ago now. I picked it up after listening to ia snipit of it at one of the local music stores. Never heard of her and just loved the tunes. Then several years later, went to a womans fest and guess who was playing. Was so much fun!! Laura wrote on the CD about wanting o connect with her Mom I think. Always wondered if she got her wish. Love and let Love!! Judy

  • The recording is not balanced, but you get the idea. The Laura Love Band is great, and sooo much fun live. Please, lets get them to Louisville for a concert. Her band had Barbara Lamb in it when i last saw her. Please Laura, come to Kentucky.

  • Totally selfish request: long ago I heard on the radio you playing some uptempo stuff with a full band, more electric than this lineup, that segued into Who Will Buy (This Beautiful Morning).

Is that on purchasable CD or somehow available?

  • Found her on a Yodelling compilation. Brilliantly original artist - come to the Uk Laura!

  • @azteclily I would LOVE to come to the UK! I just need a great festival to invite me over and I'll be there. Any suggestions?

  • @marymcfaul the jumpinhot club run the Americana fest at the Sage Gateshead look 'em up they're a great bunch.

  • sorry but the audio is too low...but loved your performance of this song on NPR radio maybe late 90's ...I taped it but lost it the tape...it was live performance wish I knew which gig..NPR got the recording....u had a accordian in the mix...if that helps

  • @ocean911 Yes, I know that the audio is a bit low, you have to listen with external speakers that you can crank. We're looking for clips with good visual and audio and will post those when we have a minute. I sang a snatch of Amazing Grace a capella on Scott Simon's Weekend Saturday in the midst of an interview in 1997 resulting in a flood of letters and email! I have performed this many times with my band on lots of regional programs aired on NPR stations, maybe you heard one of those?

  • @ocean911

its on her album 'octoroon' you can buy it on amazon!

  • I urge anyone hearing this to rush yer happy lil butt out and get the album "octoroon" and hear this song in all its spine tingling splendor , as well as some very tasty tidbits of musical brilliance , i sought it out after a pbs (i believe) show aired around 13-14 yrs ago and i fell in love and was amazed not only from her voice ( which is nothing less than a gift) but by the entire bands energy . Thank you Laura , your music touches hearts. Its eargasmic.

  • Hey, Laura Love here. I just read your sweet email about my performance at Reggae on the River which is also one of my fondest memories. I was moved by the way you described the evening which was magical and transformative for me as well. Thank you for your kind words about the show. It made my day.

    xoxoxox Laura

  • One of my sweetest memories was Laura Love singing this just before sunset at Reggae on the River in 1997...first performance of the weekend. I stopped whatever it was I was doing and stood transfixed at her perfection and the beauty of the moment. I bought 2 CDs and have bought all music from Laura that I can find.
