Palisades Amusement Park wasn't in Palisades Park, nor could you see Palisades Park from the amusement park. The amusement park was on the border of Fort Lee and Cliffside Park.
Cyclone held the title of world's fastest roller coaster from 1927 to 1972! Before that there was some ride called the Giant Dipper that was the fastest, and before that, nobody knows. In the 22 years I've been around, the title has gone from Bandit to Great American Scream Machine to Magnum XL-200 Desperado Pepsi Max Big One Fujiyama Millenium Force Steel Dragon Top Thrill Dragster Kingda Ka and Formula Rossa.
The skyrocket lasted until 1944 when it was almost completely detroyed in a massive fire at the park. It was rebuilt into the cyclone which gave it's final ride in September of 1971. It meet it's final fate in February of 1972 with it's demolition.
Big change in times... I really think that the 20's to 40's had the better styles than today, all I see at the amusement parks now are stupid tweens revealing more than they should.
A roller coaster ride. Not much has changed except look at the wonderful way the men and women are dressed. They are not unattractive but very good looking with their clothing. Thingk of the disqusting dress now and slovenly the people would look getting off a roller coaster. The footage shows women looking like women, attractive dresses and men looking like men. Dressed modestly yet stylish....It is obvious the end is getting near...Can't you see the decline in morality today?
@uncleemph yea its really gross how people dress nowadays. stained greassy t-shirts, baggy sweatpants, mismatched socks. we could learn a thing or two from people back then

Please enlighten me. I can't seem to understand how today's dress is "immoral", or how it relates to "the end of the world".
