he makes some valid points. i have a tower i built for alittle of nothing on tiger. something i can not to with osx. windows allows me to do all the things i want to. i run games, recode media, surf the net. i guess i'm pleased easily. windows xp and 7 are hard to beat in terms of stability in my own experience. i have fixed many issues that people have created of their own ignorance. seems to me if people would learn a bit, there would be no debate.

@twistedmetal976 You do not have a workstation computer. You have a custom build that is probably very good. But workstations are required to do things that a standard PC isn't able or built to do. I don't doubt your custom pc is nice but don't get hung up on the idea that your box equals the Mac Pro. And the low end Pro should be getting an update soon... February-ish.

Apple operating margin is 29.12% ! They could nearly drop 30% of their prices and still make a profit. Apple products are overpriced . I rest my case.

The reason apple seem so great is because they don't allow third parties to develop hard ward for their systems. I wish they wouldn't lock up the system.
Regardless of quality and parts they are pricey just the price points are whats stops most lower middle class customers and below. Yes I agree you do get your moneys worth. You are literally paying for parts. If you are a control freak you will love mac because they Can push the envelope by controlling all their equipment and software. Since windows and linux machines are for the masses they dont have that freedom and lower price point, and larger product base cause their development to suffer

nice presentation! u made most correction of most of my apple related arguments, still, apple is up the charts, not only for price, but mostly for commercials. people wanna be cool and sleek, so they go for a mac. I usually use a pc for gaming, inet & word, and with gaming, thats where apples not at (yet?) As long as i can do these things, i actually wouldnt care bout win or mac/os. i had an ipod shuffle 2nd gen, i f*ed it in 2 months, apple just doesnt work with me :P
interesting concepts there. just remember that apple would not be paying $1300 for the IPS 27" screen, they would buy in bulk so the prices are more likely to be under $1000.
there are talks that LP will be combined with USB3.0 (use the USB socket) - what do you think of that?
