  • Ice cream truck outside keeps passing while playing it, thats how i found it.

  • Some say that King Henry (The Eighth?) Made this. I think it was made by the gods of sheer passion and beauty.

  • regardless of the history of this classic - it is just that - and must be played on a harpsichord. and loved for the peace of mind it CAN bring.

  • king Henry the 8th made this song for the beautiful maid with greensleeves [king provides clothes with cheapest dye] who turned him down since she might end up like his ex-wifes who were killed by him...

  • @806girlygirl now I thought this song was about a whore who had green sleeves do the grass....

  • Chi sono gli uomini senza un anima che anno meso Non mi piace

  • This is exactly the second-best version of "Greensleeves" next to the one played on the violin.

  • They should really create a separate youtube for immature punks. But anyway, this is supposedly written by Henry VIII but in my opinion it's timeless. Nice!

  • It was said that Henry the that wrote that piece.

  • Beautiful!*****

  • Beutiful!

  • Nice mix, Nice pic's.

  • Ok. That's the right melody, but it's certainly not Greensleeves as I came to love it. Not by far.

Now that we're at it, I have some fast polkas. Let's make them over to be soothing.

Get it? Well, I guess the 'artist' would not.

  • yeah BEST distorted version. Thanks for the crappy mp3

  • Ik ben echt verslaafd aan dit liedje :D

  • Schroeder is better.........if you dont believe me just ask Charlie Brown. Or even better....ask Lucy van Pelt, she'll tell ya.

  • Congratulations: really beautiful music and video :)

  • No lyrics = not the best version.

  • @PockyCrumbsX3 I don t agree

  • @PockyCrumbsX3 lyrics doesnt make song best its the music that does in this case piano

  • 0:13 wrong note, 0:43 too, 1:07 too.

Conclusion : not the best version.

  • @AngaratoC not exactly those notes can be played and it sounds just fine, overall the quality is pretty lame though... not saying your wrong but just there are other ways to play song and its all opinion...

  • @AngaratoC I agree with you. And these are not the only wrong notes. Definately NOT the best version.

  • @AngaratoC the fuck are you talking about

  • This is probarbly the best and greatest song ever made, Sad nobody knows who made it :/

  • @MrSkipperRocks

greensleeves was written for anne bolyn by henry the 8th

  • @pascobrandon No record of it in Henry VIII's time, earliest mention is 1580 (Henry died 1547).

  • @MrSkipperRocks yea, Herny VIII's times or, english medieval times.. i read somewhere the tune was heard in 1100 century. it means 400 years after Henry. So who knows made the song.

  • @BiancaFugaru2403 agreed . and i love listening to it on the slightly loud side. classical music, imho is the best genre ever. because without using words, if you are stressed, angry, in love, or wish to relax or ANYTHING, there is a piece by the breat masters that will fit it to a T

  • @yamahonkawazuki - music is what should generate emotions not all the other everyday things people make decisions about! and this is without a doubt the way music was intended to be.......

  • @yamahonkawazuki Classical music is the most healing if you were raised with it and learned that respect for these gifted souls.

  • @Noke0 I've always found "Moonlight Sonata" to be a soothing piece of classical music.

  • @Noke0 minee to! :D

  • I played this song last friday it was my band directors fav. song

  • Love this song and the picture at 10seconds is where I went on holiday during the summer, unbelievably beautiful place.

  • @DivineBanana no i thought bad mood sounded better.

  • this song reminds me of all the great memories i have had. they mean the most to me and i dont want to forget them, so i watch this, and it beautifl, like my mother, who has tried more than anything to gain custody of me and is still trying. i only get to see her 2 times a year or less

  • the first time i heard this song my jaw physically dropped and i lost tuned out for the entire 3 and a half minutes

  • alas my love what child is this you've done me wrong i've come to rest two cast me off discourteosly and on reckless hearts angels greet with anthems sweet. i have loved you oh so long in shepherds wake of keeping and born is the answer i will know in time the reason for the world brothers rhythm and time? brothers will know the rhythm for the world justice in a brothel whose wire what time it makes me wonder got chalk? bust a move. bros.

  • eating her dunst when the whittler came to town everyone else carried his notes, and he was always trying to get out of the hole-it was embarassing because he had been warned they might try to make a spectacle out of him and the saturday was so lovely not even a jeweler could put it back together again.

  • Beautiful ! And the lyrics are exceptional with it...

  • anyone else have a bad mood open in another tab?

  • Very soothing and relaxing. Thank you.

  • my mother always played that...reminds me to old times, when i lived at home.. very beautiful

  • Graceful and sweet.... Beauty without an end

  • This sounds most beautiful when one is trying to do homework. So distracting.

  • Very nice! It left me wanting more (always happens with really good music). :) Many thanks to Ohevin for sharing this with me and to diemauerdk for posting it! Very nice video, too!

  • One of my favourite tunes, in an amazingly compiled video! Fantastic!

  • I love and enjoy playing "Greensleeves" immensely on my Piano...but, I have yet to hear the lyrics. It would be grand to find the lyrics if it has lyrics!! Yes, this sounds just as I do when I play "Greensleeves!" For some reason, I want to say that it has something to do with "the child born to Mary," but how would I know? I'd love to find the song w/the lyrics.I love to play my Piano when I'm up, down, wearing a frown & the list continues...not to forget, "the girls" (my cats) love to listen

  • @rxrhonda What Child is this is the right name

  • Very very good! Thank you!

  • I don't know who would dislike this song.

  • snickers

  • OMG. I am playing this at my wedding! SO beautiful <3 Fairy-tale like

  • I've loved this song since I was younger, my grandmother has this little music box that is a little house and if you open the roof, this song plays, and it always sounded so pretty, and I'd listen to it every time I went to her house, and I still love this song so much <3 And it's raining outside right now making this sound extra beautiful!

  • nothing to say but BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL......I have goosebumps!!!!!

  • that´s wonderful.

  • Any one knocking a certain type of genre that has nothing to do with FOLK songs then begging for thumbs up is the scum of the earth.

  • @brtlblayk so which one are you doing? lol i jest. but hwat angered you so?, i love this melody. could care less about thumbs

  • @yamahonkawazuki people saying "This is better than rap, this is better than justin bieber." who the hell cares! This is fucking greensleeves GOD DAMN IT! It doesn't need any comparison! (and I don't care about thumbs up either)

  • @brtlblayk They want attention. "Look at me, I'm so diverse! I don't listen to crappy mainstream music! BLAHBLAHBLAH"

I agree. It's annoying. Such "artists" are completely irrelevant to the song. Just enjoy it, guys...

  • @brtlblayk: Sorry, but to say that this is Greensleeves is like saying that some asshole featureing some really good song bearably is the real thing. This isn't the first time I've heard Greensleeves played in a weird way and it won't be the last time I protest.

  • thumbs up for ANNO 1602 :D

  • Henry VIII didn't acutually compose th piece. The song arrived in England in the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, from Italy. But it is true that he was a great musician. The story that said he composed is just a legend.

  • @dowankimaus The song isn't Italian though... style of music maybe but not the song

  • this is better than that devile music thank god mozart, bevttoven, bach, pacabel and grey waz here to help

  • oh my god it's so wonderful i'm so happy that i can sing it on my guitar to! is my favorite song!

  • oh my god.. wonderful..

  • ths song always makes me fall asleep <3

  • Must admit Henry VIII May have been a bad husband, but he was a hell of a brilliant songwriter...

  • @YesIamEccentric he wrote this? how did you found out?

  • @ValeriaVillasana History lessons, I think it was written for Anne Boelyn or Jane Seymour... But I remember hearing about it when I was 6 and thinking wow. He wasa good songwriter....

  • @YesIamEccentric Henry did not compose "Greensleeves", which is probably Elizabethan in origin and is based on an Italian style of composition that did not reach England until after his death

  • Im having an argument, and when i type, i feel as though im playing a masterpeice

  • It's just...Simply...Beautiful<3

  • i think this is actually the best version... whos this by?

  • @MoneyMustafaBeats its by Henry VIII

  • @MoneyMustafaBeats the artist is really unknown but was beleived that Henry VIII sang this song to get a wife.

  • the 2nd best classical song after Pachelbel's canon...

  • @MoneyMustafaBeats Thank You

  • @witnessbron Rap is fine for Morons like you but smart people want something more sophisticated.

  • @witnessbron if you dont like it then blody well dont watch it

  • @witnessbron Kid, nice RS videos. Not really. This is a classic piece of music. Rap is awful. You are into lame Rap, lame Rock, lame Pokemon, and lame Wizard101. If only you could appreciate this amazing music, you could be considered older than 6.
