...thank god for John Paul Jones!! Without JPJ this tour would have fallen apart . Jimmy was really struggling with his addictions!...fuckin dickhead!! I love Page, but he did himself no favours!!
@coltsuperocean10 . People always talk about Page and heroin , and he was surely an addict , , but he had a really bad drinkling problem during the late 70s /early 80's also . He isnt a very big dude to be hoisting bottles of whiskey like he did . The bourbon will destroy your motor skills even faster than dope. Some of his particularly inconsistent performances were more the result of drunkenness than anything else . I am glad he is well now just wish hed DO SOMETHING
@DCussen He was having a lot of trouble at this show...but this show was the opener of the third leg of the very long '77 tour. In my opinion, for most of the '77 tour, Plant's voice was the best it had been in years. He had worked hard to manage the damage that he had suffered since late 72 (including surgery) and for most of the '77 shows his voice was really passionate and powerful again, in a deeper, more mature way. I love the '77 tour for a lot of reasons, but mainly it's the EFFORT
we all expected Jimmy to turn up dead in the 80's because he looked wretched and stayed low key . He was a really sick man for a while there as far back as this tour ,he was in a bad way physically . He never was a healthy guy anyway and getting strung out on opiates and drinking liquor is very hard on the body .. I am so glad he is well now and I wish he' would record or tour or SOMETHING
intro rocks (rover) this song makes me wish i couldve seen them live although page doesnt look his worst or best he is still my fav guitarist it also makes me wonder what their music would sound like if they were still together
I can still remember the echo problem in the Kingdome....BAD place for concerts, but it was a helluva time!!

@lmnterry80 Yeah I feel bad for bassists. They're holding the band together and they never get the spot light.

@rdm100571 It's scary to think that they could have been even better than they were.
