The motet "Spem in alium ..." will be presented Sunday, November 7, 2010 at the Parish Church of S. Maria Assunta in Tassullo, Val di Non, Trentino. At 19:45 the presentation of the motet, at 20.30, concert with the participation of the Val di Non Monteverdi Choir, Choir Eclectica of Bologna, Bologna Chamber Choir, Orchestra Blumine and harpist Paola Perrucci. The motet "Spem in alium ..." will be interpreted by the combined choirs.
Thanks to all for their kind comments on the video and music. For information, the piece uses Mellotron choirs (eight voice choir, Boys choir, Russian choir), a Birotron choir, the Magnus choirs, the Spectrasonics sampled voices (which provides the tenor and sopranos voices), me singing through a Vocoder and sampled Bass pedals
This is my favorite piece ever written and this rendition and definitely the visuals just do it so much justice! just gotta love those fantasy tapestries =) haha well done on certainly must have taken lots of work!
mellotron? you mean that thing that plays tape loops? Wow.
Purists will dismiss you, and there's perhaps a bit more vibrato than I'd prefer...but speaking as an early music vocalist, Tallis freak, and multitracking enthusiast weaned on the likes of Wendy Carlos, I salute your grand effort. It's a convincing and compelling rendition, and the slide show is evocative as well. Bravo!
@wokkawicca the Mellotron doesn't play loops, but strips (to preserve the attack of the sound and hence its characteristic). Thanks for the kind comments!
Superb ...

I will use this song for a ambiental music on a space-sim game. Very nice.

lovely, and the tapestries or paintings of medieval people and unicorns adds to the beauty

This version (which I found purely by chance) is a stupendous update of the Renassaince original into our current electronic age. Thanks Mike!

Great work Mike. For those who have knocked the Mellotron over the years as being "limited", listen and behold the wonder!
