This game looks bad ass to play but at the same time im wondering how much money one would spend just to even start the game. Im going to look more into this before I start to invest money into this. Great thing that I have a local Comics/Games store next door to me ^_^

@ghostwarlock12 Yeah it can get VERY expensive. I used to play for 7 years, but it was just too much money. Now I just play the Dawn of War games, which are based off of the 40k universe. I probably put a good $1500 into the hobby, at least.

@ghostwarlock12 start small. 40K is fun at any points size. E-Bay is your friend. Well-balanced armys probably work best at 1,500 pts. A lot of people enjoy much bigger, but at 1750+, some armys gain noticible edges. A typical smaller battleforce box set can be found online for under $90. Most game stores already ahve a lot of terrain.

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought that you couldn't have Khorne units if your army was led by a Slaanesh lord and vica-versa.

@blitzkreig115 Actually, no it doesn't. Even the demolisher doesn't ignore cover. You need things like flamers, sternguard airbursting shells, or specialized artillery shells to ignore cover. If a weapon ignores cover it'll say so in the weapon profile page at the back of the book.

gw got the predator names the wrong way round. an anihalator should be the one with autocannon seeing as it's better against infantry and the one with the lascannon should be the destructer because its better sutied for destroying veichles

@lovestarwarsechobase Yes you can paint them in whatever color you want, but keep in mind that there are chapters that may have the colors you are looking for. examples: Imperial fists (yellow), blood angels (red), ultramarines (blue), salamanders (green).

@Apsco60 Sure - basically I start with a basecoat of Astronomicon Grey which goes on nice and smooth/opaque. Then I layer white in thin coats over that.

Great stuff! Everything painted in a batrep, for once. (Very well too, same goes for terrain - not just random styrofoam). Just wish camera would've been filming from slightly more far away to get a better overlook of the table. And a textured table surface, or some kind of battlemat would've made it look even better! (hints for next rep) ;)

You can only not start in a transport if it's a dedicated transport that was bought for another unit. For example Terminators have a dedicated Land Raider, only the terminators can start embarked on it. If you bought the land raider as a Heavy Support choice anything can start inside it.
