A word of advice- even if it's stopped raining don't drive with your window down. Last night I got drenched by a passing pickup truck. XD It was hilarious.
I just moved here a couple of weeks ago and we are going through some pretty crazy flooding now too. It must be something about July. They need more storm drains on the main roads, but if you know how to drive in a flood and have an SUV rather than a sedan, you're good to go. The kids on our street were waiting by the side of the road to get splashed by the cars and jumping up and down waving, so we drove faster to splash them. :P After all this hot weather it's nice to get some rain.
after a 100-day drought this happens!! i was so shocked when the flood came (i live on the east side). well at least chico's tacos wasnt under water...
I grew up in El Paso in the 50s, 60s and left in the 70s but never saw flooding like that. But, I lived on the east side and we didn't have any alluvial floodplains off Mount Franklin like people living near the center of the city.
You know, for as crazy as a situation, you did some great camera work! Good stuff, I searched this a while back, didn't come across your video. I'll give you those 5 stars it deserves!
Thank You!! Hopefully I can put one of my other stories oh here for you to see..Keep watching! Not to plug the station, but you can watch KDBC 4 for more of my stuff. =) THanks Again!!!
I pass by here every Sunday on my way to church and I always asked myself, "Why have those huge barriers if it hardly rains in El Paso." Now I see why.
That day was crazy! I work for KDBC 4 News, and I was there right when the water started to spill over to the houses. I had never seen anything like that EVER!
