Todavía no leí los libros de Orhan Pamuk, así que lo único que puedo decir es: ¡Qué lindo es!

He visto las fotos de todos los escritores que ganaron el Premio Nobel de Literatura y él me parece el más atractivo de todos: tiene unos ojos azules muy risueños y una sonrisa encantadora, sobre todo en el minuto 1:23. Los escritores suelen ser muy serios y depresivos, pero Orhan es muy risueño y agradable.

A muchas personas no les gusta él, pero a mí sí. Voy a leer sus libros.

I would love to see this coward being publicly humiliated for betraying his country and being a self-hater and a traitor of his race. He doesn't deserve getting a Nobel Prize for being a self-hater of his race. I would love to see Orhan Pamuk getting hanged in a public stadium with Taner Akcam as well. First of all, since you are not of Turkish origin and you don't have roots from any country near Turkey, I suggest you not to assume that he is a good man with righteous goals. Second of all, you don't know how he ignored the fact that his fellow people suffered before his country was formatted so I suggest you to stop respecting people who are betrayers and self-haters of their own ethnicity/culture.

Pamuk, I don't know who you serve to, but definetly you are living in a world totally isolated from the reality. Turkey never had a problem with Kurds, We have a problem with PKK. We have been living in peace for years! To the Armenians, if you betray to the land you have been living for hundreds of years, yes you deserve to be DEPORTED. romdathug- Have you ever heard /maybe it's not written in your history book/ that Ottomans were in Balcan, Serbia, Bosnia, for 500 years? About many ppl impaled on the poles which was a speciality of Turks at that time?I am just telling you ab the historical fact, not blaming, we are not guilty for our histories.There are many Turkish words in Serbian language, for some we don't have our own, they are lost during that period of time-like bubreg!

I am not going to discuss this topic since the word genocide is very sensitive and probably every nation writes its own history after everything is over!This is hapenning all over the world.That's why the books of history are so different ;)

Orhan Pamuk writes about ottoman period,his childhood Istanbul. He does not only write or talk about genocide, but the ottoman turks comitted many genocides, on armenians 1896,1915 and on the Smyrna/Izmir greecs in 1922.

Todays turks are not responsible for that but they could at least aadmit that it happend.

Pamuk is indeed one of the most prolific contemporary writers. Read through his books and you will discover that you are ever closer to the essence of Turkey Pamuk reiterated than you think.

My favourite contemporary Nobel Prize winners are Elfriede Jelinek, who always let her voice heard for women's rights and against antisemitism and xenophoby; while the other one is Kertész Imre, who is my compatriot and I'm very proud of him.
