There are some christian artists who have secular songs.. does that mean they are going to hell? Absolutely not, you don't have the right to put that thought into someone's mind.

@jangel2771 to be 100% real with you, I don't know. We are talking about two different periods of time. I don't know what kind of music was being played then. And I believe that Jesus knows your heart and he knows whether you go to him whole heartily. Not all secular music is bad, there are some really good secular songs out there that have good meaning to them..

@lotteboyhk ok this what i do, i play with the actual song when i play, and i play it as close to the original as i can, but i still throw my own stuff in there. at first you will probably mess up b/c of the song. but as you play more, and begin to get more experience under your belt, it will be easier. so have fun bro.

Theres another way u can do it, u can put the music on ur iPod (or watever) and listen to it through ur earphones, so u're only recording the drumming sounds. Then u mix it with the original music. Tada

For me, since i have an electric drumkit, i had to mix the background music with the drumming.

If u have an acoustic set, record it while playing the music in the background with speakers.
