I bought crickets for my box turtle once. But the crickets were way too fast for him to catch. Crickets ended up jumping everywhere and escaped the enclosure. I had stupid crickets all over my house. Will never buy crickets again, and my turtle gets worms and slugs (slow things) instead...

i need some help. my gulf coast box turtle is around the age of your turtles and i can't seem to get her to eat. i bought some food at petsmart that she won't eat. i have tried fruits and insects and i am starting to worry about her.

@Aawsy well i finally got her to eat. if you soak them in water before you feed them they will eat. i don't know why.

@boxturtles4life I think that's because the heat from the water helps it digest. That's why turtles need to bask. The heat makes them digest and then sooner or later they become hungry

Yes, they are semi-aquatic.  They should live in humid environments with a constant water source.
