lol, at about 2:35, she made a mistake. She pushed the wrong switch, realised a couple of seconds later, hastily switched the correct one (next to the wrong one) and then tried to cover it up by leaving a slight delay before switching the wrong one back.
@ZwolfZki This recording is from 1977 which is quite some time before Daft Punk existed. Besides, Daft Punk cannot be compared with the Master Klaus. They are in different leagues.
@M rAJASI, Good question. I've been wondering about it myself.
It must be the controller for the 'Big Moog' (all four modules) as he controls the sequence with it. It also seems to have no synthpanel as both smaller moogs are right on top of it. The controller is a loose part of the 'big moog' patchpanels so the placement seems logical.
Interesting how this video confirms that so much early synth music was SO dependent on early analog delays. Take away the delay line in this performance, and the whole thing would grind to a halt.
The delay, and simple arpeggiated synth lines that were effected at just the right tempos, were what gave the pieces their rhytmic feel, in lieu of any type of percussion.
In fact, the delay is the star of the show here...
@ivan89705 Actually only just by a couple of years. But Vangelis was not really the flowing improv style that the Berlin musicians favoured, but more tightly composed/arranged music that is like soundtrack themes even when not related to a film or TV project.
This is my first time seeing this. Wow he has a micromoog, a model d and an arp odyssey all together. I was doing some synth jams for a while but never like this. He is using some really nice sounds.
Klaus Schulze - For Barry Graves - live 1977: A brilliant and mind blowing piece with improved image and sound. Thanks a lot for the efforts to create this upload!
Thank you for this new version of this splendid concert moment at a very rich period of young Klaus ! It is a very very great pleasure to find it with clearer image and sound.
