Actually the contact between Africans from the Guinea coast (Mandingos) and the Americas is older than Islam. But as the people of the region converted to Islam they naturally brought their religion with them. I say this because I wish for my Muslim brothers and sisters to begin recognizing African contributions to the Ummah and to the world.

It was not Islam that compelled us to cross the "sea of darkness", we had been doing it since ancient times.

This is totally untrue, Muslims did not discover America which we can use common basic. Why hasn't one Indian been converted to Islam by the Muslims? At least one of the Muslim traders could of gave them a Qur'an. I can say the Norse discovered America since they began travelling in the 11th century. I can say for God's sake the Indians discovered the New World since technically they originated from Asia.

@groundboy16 Look up the Cherokee Muslims online. They have a well documented genealogy of their past chiefs, many of them where Muslim and had Arabic surnames. Also if you look in the Library of Congress, you'll find a treaty written between the US and the "Indigenous Muurs". A recognized native population of Muslims whose treaty and sovereignty is still recognized today by the US government..

Christopher Columbus , just introduced America to the other world ., But if people were already in America , how did they existed in America . Simply if there were people in America it means , they should expect anyone including Muslims .

it is known that Muslims were known for immigration , so they traveled everywhere , so they may reached America before Columbus , but this is not important , there is no discoverer of America , people existed there before .

As far as i'm concerned, America in the U.S is in Fact The U.S. However, they were talking about Christopher Colombus and America which is basically in my understanding the WHOLE CONTINENT. When they say "America" do they refer to the U.S or The Continent?

i mean, if a child in the U.S hear america, what what she/he might understand?

Only recently the world knew that Admiral Zheng He(who happened to be a Chinese Muslim) during Ming Dynasty, made his epic voyage from China to Southern tip of East Africa with the help of Muslims navigators and expertise( 1405-1433). It is obvious that the knowledge of traveling on high seas across continent were available and acquired by the Muslims way before the time of Zeng He.

Thus it won't be any surprise too, if Muslims arrived in America long before Columbus.

I might of considered some of it till he said over 2000 ships. No country had that many ships capable of the trip at that time and 2000 ships would have needed to be manned by more 72,000 men so they would not have had enough sailors also.

My cousin is an archeologist in Mexico. Could you please give some links or bibliographies or sources to these claims. I can see it as feasible that there could have been ships arriving to the Americas but I wonder why there is no mention of this in Mexico. Bold statements require bold proof. Please help clear this up.

The word "Allah" has been found among Native American writings in southern California which date to the early 1500s.

In Christopher Columbus' logs he noted that there was a Mosque overlooking a cliff in what is now Cuba. Of course the Spanish destroyed all of that and suppressed the information as much as possible.

Calif-ornia:

ornia means "the house" or "the land" in Luiseño Cahuilla language (ancient aztec language).

Calif means in arabic the "successor" and the successor is a Muslim ruler.

California means "the land/house of the successor". It was named by indians as a gived and thanks to Muslims because indians and Muslims had good relationships.
