  • Id like to have an ol Timbrooke horse!!!

  • GREATT!

  • This was a great video....I love this song and I loved the mandolin solo! Thanks for posting!

  • ONE DISLIKE!! Boy, if you dont straighten up, I'm gonna knock you through that screen door and then make you fix it!

  • Actually, the spelling is Ten Broeck. He beat Aristides the week before the Kentucky Derby in the Phoenix Stakes but then lost to him (Aristides) in the Derby...finished 5th, I think. He did a 7 minute 15 second 4 miler which was and may still be a record....not sure. Who runs that distance anymore.

  • Man I love that guitar!

  • love the lick at 0:23

  • One of my favorite Bill Monroe songs. Great rendition!

  • Charlie is UNREAL on a 5 string.

  • David looks like he's using a thumb pick like Carter and Lester did. Anyone know who the banjo player is?

  • @TruegrassBoy The banjo player is Charlie Cushman.

  • @TruegrassBoy and Johnny Winter

  • The band did slow way down from where they kicked though.

  • Hey Guys ease up on the mando player. He is in a band called 1946. I think he played just like they did back in 46.

  • Nice Video - Thanks for sharing it!

  • damn good

  • Mickey Boles, the mando player, is a good player and a mighty fine tenor singer. Not every band can have Mike

    Compton or Ronnie McCoury.

  • Mandolin sounded fine to me all the way through. Great song.

  • He sounds an looks ALOT like Bill. Great version.

  • not as good as byron but darned good. real darned good.

  • GREAT sound! Go Charlie!!

  • That was a Monroe-style solo using mostly downstrokes and some hard triplets over two beats.

  • Charlie Cushman rocks on the banjer!

  • The mando break wasn't that bad, just a few too many licks. Charlie Cushman is indeed top notch... But Dave Peterson is fantastic. It's like he stepped right out of the '40's. Makes me think of Bill himself with a bit of Mac Wiseman thrown in. Is there a better tenor singer in bluegrass today? Don't think so!

  • These fellas ARE fun to watch!

  • That's our good friend Charlie Cushman on banjo, he's one of the best there is.

  • That banjoist is simply awesome!

  • The banjo player played stuff all through the song, and the mandolin player--I have no idea what he was trying to do on that first break, but whatever it is, it didn't work.

  • I agree, I'm no mando player but I think he could have thrown in something a little better there.

  • It was a monroe style break...
