Excellent video, not too much head movements which is good and less distractive to listeners. Superb guitar sounds. Who is the maker? I like to know...It sounds like a double top guitar (?)
as long as your technique is good, There is no difference between 1 and 3. I also use 1there, but i use 1 and 3 in stead of 2 and 4(like some other guitarists).
This is really a great piece, and so open to interpretation. In my opinion, this guy puts a lot of feeling into it, I really like this version.
Domeniconi was born in italia but he lives in berlin but because Domeniconi's wife is turkish they go to turkey a lot. He became enamoured with turkish people and culture started the department for guitar studies at the conservatory in Istanbul and developed a compositional style that reflected the regional folk influence. there is a village called koyunbaba in turkey im not sure if its related to this song by the way koyunbaba means sheep-father / shepherd. just some info.
It's true and as I see you have posted this at too many videos of Koyunbaba in order to help everyone know everything about the piece. That's a thank you!
pretty good. anyone have video of John Williams doing this one? I have his CD "The Guitarist" with this on it and it is awesome but haven't found any video of it.
Very interesting video. When I heard XueFei Yang play Koyunbaba I really didn't think anyone would top that for me.
However, where she might be a bit more technically proficient, the author of this video plays the piece at a bit slower pace, putting more focus in tone and feel than just the complexity.
Great work. Would love to see one for El colibri or Sunburst.
I like this tempo but not the sound but obviously played brilliant. Listen please to Tomo Iwakura version i think it's much more powerful then any version i've heard on youtube...
I totally agree with the tempo thing. I've hear this movement played WAY too fast and it looses its "groove." This guy chooses a nice tempo that preserves it. The themes and voicings are very clear too. I have some disagreements about his tempo during the rasgueado section though. It's still wonderful!
what a showcase of techniques! Fantastic playing Ben.

do yopu know at what speed is that?
comosicusguitar 3 years ago
I think it's about 112
zippertje0000 3 years ago
no, it cant be, because 112 is moderato, its about 160 or 165. the piece is presto.

@sekazzi
Yang Xue Fei might play faster.
Speed is not the most important issue even in this music piece.
This gentleman really played it very well.
By the way, Miss Yang also went to UK to improve...............
The one Miss Yang played was 1998 before she got training in UK.
