Pretty sure the heavier cars won't be a problem for Kimi as he drove so many fantastic qualifying laps in 2005 with a full tank and beat his competitiors carrying lighter fuel loads.
@Chriz7164 Hear? I don't just hear it... I see it. Bloody hell, his speed after eau rouge is massive!! Among many other things, V8 engines ruined this sport.
This does sound so much better than these days! Do yourself a favour and look up "Finnishguy107" and his McLaren clips of hakkinen & coulthard are amazing!
@1991ant1991 than okay :) btw, schumi totally beat Alonso, in the 2nd half of 2006 season, cuz his car was kinda fixed,if he had same car all season he would have been 8 times WDC :P
@CitizenZon3 Just too unreliable. By Schumacher in his prime I meant he was on form in 2006 and that's when Alonso beat him fair and sqaure.... 2005 should have been Kimi's year.
@MrTrueFinn Please read dude, I've justified my point so many times now, I meant out of the current drivers on the grid now not the ones who are retired!
Man, that looks so much faster than nowdays...And have to say that that's propably the fastest/best car that Mclaren built...except for all the reliability problems. Without them Mclaren and Kimi would have totally dominated.
@SebbyHaughtonf1 Ooops, my fault. They had two qualifying sessions in the first races, then they changed it to one session after Monaco i think. So they only had one session at Spa (this one) :)
@orjan2k@SebbyHaughtonf1 from Pre 2006 Qualifying was One lap qualifying with Two Sessions,The First being with Low Fuel and the 2nd with Race Fuel onboard
anyone else called spa the "uzi" track when they were young?

maman7178 3 months ago
@maman7178 The Bus Stop was a little different back then, im pretty sure.
Also, this was done wth ALOT of fuel onboard and on the grooved tires, which stripped several seconds of pace from the cars.

Schumacher lap on this qualifying session is better than this one. Kimi just had much better car in 2005.

@macnahamic i rather v8 engines than turbo charged 6 cylinders in 2013 that is the evidence the world will end in 2012 hope it does

@KimiRIkkonen Should have been more clear with my comment, what I meant was out of the current drivers on the grid not the retired ones.

@KimiRIkkonen 1998: Mclaren was better car for virtually the whole year. Ferrari clawed back towards the end, but only beat Mclaren in 2001.

@danwest1989 I've deleted my comment because I kept having to explain that what I meant was out of the CURRENT F1 drivers.
1991ant1991 3 months ago
@1991ant1991
Alonso didn't exactly beat Schumacher in his prime as rule changes in 2005 and 2006 hurt Ferrari's car.
youtabeer 4 months ago
@1991ant1991 what about mika hakkinen? and 2005 fia changed the rules in advantage to alonse
CitizenZon3 3 months ago
@CitizenZon3 Is Hakkinnen on grid now? No. Alonso is the only one to beat Schumacher who is CURRENTLY racing in F1.
1991ant1991 3 months ago
@1991ant1991 Ok sorry for writing that to you again, first realized alot of ppl wrote that to you allready. And about
raikkonens car failing him in 2005... The 2005 was a beast maybe it wouldnt have been fast if they would of made it more reliable
CitizenZon3 3 months ago
@CitizenZon3 Just too unreliable. By Schumacher in his prime I meant he was on form in 2006 and that's when Alonso beat him fair and sqaure.... 2005 should have been Kimi's year.
